Well, I have(had  ) two dogs, a Bichon Frise and a Bassett Hound. Well, I woke up this morning, my parents had gone to work already so I was the only one awake at my house, and I call my dogs names and only one of them comes to me. It doesn't mean anything to me at the time so I don't look for the other one. About an hour later I realize I hadn't seen her all morning so I look all over the house, and in my backyard. No dog. At this point I'm already a little worried so I call my mom at work. She, my dad, my sisters (two of them), and I drive all over my neighborhood and we still haven't found her! To make matters worse, here in Texas today it is 100 degrees Fahrenheit so she's probably exhausted and dehydrated!! I even lay some of her favourite dog biscuits outside in so she can catch a scent and maybe come home! This is truly one of the worst days of my life!!!

I'm so sorry. You should post lost signs throughout your neighborhood, with a picture of her, her name, and contact info. Check and alert the local shelters. Keep in mind even if she had on a collar and tag, it may have come off. G'luck.

We've called the local animal shelter and we're putting an article in the newspaper so hopefully someone has already taken him in and will turn him in when they read the newspaper.

Ugh...that sucks. I'm sorry. Think positive, dogs can be very resourceful, and she could be holding her own for now.

What kind of a dog is she?

I remember when I was very young one of my dogs moved out. She still came back to visit us sometimes though, because her new home wasn't really that far away.

Man do everything that you can to get that dog back!!!

When Paris lost Tinkerbell, she put up an ad all around the streets and on the net, offering a reward. You might want to do the same so you can find him quickly. This sucks but I hope everything is okay and that he comes back home safely. I've always wanted a dog.

Don't panic, she's young - she might have just gone off on the trail of some yummy smell and gotten confused. shortly after we first got Oliver, he got out while someone was rebuilding our porch, and he was gone for hours. There are a lot of busy streets in our area, so I was a wreck.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of you.

Beat his ass when he comes back home...he's going to come back when he gets hungry...trust me. Just hope that he's run away and was not stolen....

I hope you're kidding about beating his ass. That's not really the thing to do...

Hopefully he does come back, but I think you should be out looking for him instead of posting to us here! Go look for him some more! Maybe in any alleyways or little crevaces. He might just be there! I really hope he wasn't stolen either, because that would be such a hideous crime to commit.

This is truly one of the worst days of my life!!!            :sad:I'm ssorry to sound harsh, but it doesn't say much if a dog running away is the worst day of your life. Dogs run away all the time. They come back too.

On Wednesday I found out that
1) I might have cancer and
2) My Mum, who had cancer last year, not only has it again, but this time, there isn't anything other then chemotheropy that they can do for her.

Thats what you call a truly bad day

Yay that your puppy is back!!!

Omg, I just about went hysterical this one time when I lost my dog. She'd managed to escape from our backyard by climbing over this pile of junk we had near the fence...she was really a genius. Anyway, we'd put a dog tag on her with her name and our phone number on it, cause she kept on getting lost, and so when I didn't find her that afternoon, I wasn't too worried. It was only a matter of time before someone called...

So anyway, later on that night, she still hadn't come home, no one had called, and I began to fear that she was dead. I was sitting at the computer in the front room of our house, and I heard breaks squeal right outside, and then the whimpering of a dog. I bolted up and looked outside to see my black lab fully coming out from behind a van, rolling. I screamed out and ran outside, but by the time I'd gotten there, she was gone. I was in absolute hysterics. We lived near train tracks, and it was common knowledge that old pets ran away to the tracks to die...and I was worried that Samra *my puppy* had done as such. I woke my mom up, cause it was super late...and she calmed me down, but I cried myself to sleep. When I woke up, I was still crying...and I got up, and went out the back door to take the garbage out for the evening, and there was my puppy, sitting on the back porch looking both guilty of running away, and in a shite-load of pain. I screamed out with joy, and again, woke up my mom. My puppy had received some major road-rash from her hit-and-run with the van, but she had crawled back home. Luckily, she just needed some creme for here road-rash. She didn't even break anything.

And that's my feel-good story for the evening. I'm sure you're feeling right now what I felt that next morning. Both relief, and absolute joy.

No i was kidding..that would make his run off again...I only whoop my dogs when they doo doo or piss in the house when I let them in...or when they dont mind. Dogs always know when to come back home...especially when they hungry...the will shock you..they are also smarter than what you think they are.

I used to have a cat who'd disappear for a full day or two sometimes. I understand your anxiety, but don't panic just yet. Good luck with his safe return!

I'm glad you got your dog back, hon! Be more careful next time and unless you're planning to breed the dog, why not get her fixed so as to avoid pet overpopulation.

I farted around too long once with a female cat I had, as far as getting her fixed. Well, she got "jumped" under a fir tree in the back, so I took her to get fixed the next day. I don't know what's worse, having to listen to all the screaming during the sex act, or being responsible for a "kitty abortion." If I'd gotten off my ass sooner, I wouldn't have been in that position.

I soooo believe in a Kitty abortion. ;)

Buster is a male and we did have him fixed....and there is an alpha male in the yard that isn't fixed so Buster stayed away from that side of the yard. We don't have the other guy fixed cause he's wild. We can't touch him...

Buster is very sweet and so wants to live in the house but since we already have 3 in the house, I just couldn't do it.
