In her Miami interview she said she would only play in Ameilia Island, Charleston, and Roland Garros. "I'll leave the other events for the clay courters" she said she wants to focus on the grass and hard court seasons.

I don't think many American players like clay. Only Capriati and even she doesn't like it too much. (Monica was born in Yugoslavia of course, and was more used to clay but she is the clay QUEEN)
