I belive she is.. I mean.. the cross... the family values... and the fact that some of the things she keeps her religion(Not play on Sundays, etc.). A good conjecture is that she is Russian Orthodox.

She is definitely Russian Orthodox. ;)
I am the same and you can see it when you take a look at the cross around her neck. The Russian Orthodox cross looks different compared to the Catholic one and others. It's also made of redish Gold (Russian Gold).

Just out of interest what is everyone's religions here?

Me= Roman Catholic, though unfortunately that tends to label you badly on this board, so I should point out I don't agree with many of their policies.

Russian Orthodox do not care about Sunday.:)
Orthodox Christianity is very liberal, actually. There are not many restrictions at all.

And concerning Masha, I do not know for sure, but I think that she is like many Russians today. That is, she belongs by tradions, origin etc. to orthodox christians and considers herself being christian, but not exactly follows rules and rites.

Agree with you 100%. I'm Eastern Orthodox too, but only by origin and I don't really care about it, and most people here are like that as well.

Wow :D this thread's been cleaned up quite a bit :D Thanx Mods, if you're reading! :D

Duiz, I reckon Religion should influence politics, not the other way round. Unfortunately, people wil hide their other motifs telling us that they are doing it in the name of religion, but how many religions are there which tell you it is right to kill? I don't believe religion is the reason for half the world's problems for which it is blamed. We get this horrible kind of stalemate where 'my religion's better than yours' seems to be the message everyone sends out.

But don't religions teach you about respecting others? Don't all the major religions tell you to accept, and try to understand people? In many areas of conflict all around the world, people are fighting, blaming religion, and yet refusing to accept the very morals behind the religion they claim to be.

Religion in politics=badddddd, so many conflicting views that go deep into different cultures.
Politics in sport = badddddddddddddder, loose the essence and heart of sport to issues that have nothing to do with influencing the sport.
Sport in Religion = (depending on what religion you are) Badddddddddest - see politics in sport for same reasons.

dont agree? fine, but dont give me shit for my opinion.

Orthodox Christian. As long as she's Christian I'm happy. I myself am a Catholic but we've got so many guidelines and rules to follow that I'm ashamed to say I am quite prone to breaking them. I do practice of course and am a devout Christian. I don't know why I felt the need to share that about myself, but I guess it's cuz I love you all! Okay, that was weird, I'm gonna stop talking now.

:yeah: I agree 100% with you Dave :D I don't know the texts of all the religions in the world but I am sure that the 3 major religions recommend only love, understanding, hope and peace. (for example,in the Bible,it is said that one should love the others(whoever they are) at least as much as himself and that only God has the right to judge one's value ) People who kill in the name of their religion either misunderstand the texts or use religion as an alibi. And indeed, one can believe in God without wanting the others to have his religion and to convince them to convert themselves.Personnaly, I truly believe in God (I'm a christian orthodox, just like Masha :D ) but I respect the other opinions and I have many atheists and muslims friends. The fact that one belongs or not to a religion should be only a personnal choice and not an issue.

So you are begging for some inductive reasoning?

When she is off a tournament... she doens't train on Sunday... Of course she was doin' it.. She does caretheless about god during a tournament apparently since she does it. But she mentioned once she doesn't trains on sundays.
