If Venus can get her act back together at Wimbledon and during the hardcourt season, she'll be back in the top 10 in no time.

Yes, they drop off. But she can play another tournament during that week of course.

 Patty has less points to defend than Justine who played 2 tournaments and Patty played a full schedule.

Patty can really entrench herself in the top 10 ten until next year if she keeps up her good form.

I'm sure Golovin and Ivanovic will get away with playing more tennis than their age permits. Especially because woman's tennis after the Roland Garros final seems pretty desperate for some young energy. And because Sharapova got away with far more than the rules said.

Well, obviously Justine & Kim should shoot up the rankings (if healthy) & Justine should definitely be top 3 by year's end.

If Venus is committed, now is the time for her to get her act 2gether, in her favorite part of the season.

It sucks that Ivanovic can't play many more tournaments though...she can still make some jumps with decent results @ Wimbledon & USO.

How was the Olympics rated in terms of Tier I, II, etc.? I'm just curious comparing the tournaments @ that time this year to see what one would have to do to defend those points.... thanks in advance:)

Wasn't it something about whether or not they were in the top 50?

JHH has already a lead of more than 300 points over Davenport in the Race for the Championship.

Yes, I think JHH could be in the top three at the end of the year. :p

It's going to hard for the others to keep JHH from that number one position.

She was better than them in 2003 and in 2004 and 2005 was again the same, so ...

that's crap they cant play more. I f for example they were the next big prodigy and started the year off winning everything and made it top 5, would they then make an exception? probably!

Olympics weren't counted as a Tier 1. A little less than a Tier 1, but more than a Tier 2.

Yes, but not like they would play them anyway.
