It seems that there are 3 favourites for Wimbledon : Serena, Sharapova and JHH.

Followed by Kim.

And then by Venus and Davenport.

The next are : Svet, Amélie, Alicia.

For RG there was only 1 favourite : JHH.

1. Serena
2. Sharapova

3. JHH
4. Davenport
(5. Venus)

I don't see anyone else winning.. Venus is a big questionmark.. the way she's playing lately makes me feel that she will lose early again.

Serena and Sharapova are the big favourites, with JHH and Lindsay as underdogs. And with all respect for Kim, but I think she has more chances at the US open and Australian open.

id still take justine out and place another big hitter in front on her. yeah she won the french but she did this in 2003 in decent fashion and went out and got drubbed by big hitter to which she beat (but struggled) @ the french that year.

she can only hang with certain players on grass, when the hitting gets bigger her backhand gets weaker....its vulnerbility shows. the slice is nice for grass but if u can't handle the pace there is no use for it, and that is justines case when it comes to wimbledon.

Actually, I'd put Lindsay up there with Serena and Maria. I know Justine just won RG and usually plays very well on grass, but her last match on it was in 2003! So I say she's #4 on that list, Kim and Venus. Then Amelie and Svetlana. Then Alicia, and then the big youngsters, up-and-comers.

Favorites:
1. Sharapova
2. JHH
3. Serena - simply based on lack of preparation, match play, and fitness

Contenders: "Chokers"
4. Davenport
5. Mauresmo
6. Clijsters

Outside Chances:
7. Venus
8. Kuznetsova
9. Molik

Long shots: Dementieva, Vaidisova, Ivanovic, Golovin

Can't think of anyone else who has a shot in hell....

Sharapova, Serena, Davenport and Henin-Hardenne.... they surely are the top favorites.

A lot can depend on the upcoming two weeks. Pierce is on a roll, she is able to win on grass, who knows. I don't expect her to go to the Final again. But with her seeding, she should go 4th round. Molik of course, IF healthy. Venus, she could come firing. Who knows. Mauresmo also has a good chance. And I'm impressed by Ivanovic.

In my mind, based on current form, prep, motivation, etc.

Lindsay and Maria. Their games are much more suited to this surface. Lindsay is playing great tennis, and she showed grit at RG where she wasn't in peak form. Grass is a more surer surface for her.

Maria is Maria. On grass this girls plays well.

Below that I have Serena (simply because I haven't seen her play much and recent form and pictures don't encourage me) and Justine (mentality is there, but is her game?).

Amelie and Venus could make some noise. Throw in Molik too.

I don't have huge hopes for Nastya, Sveta, Nadia and Elena D but these ladies can surprise us all.

Just because she only won a Tier III this year doesn't mean she can't be considered a favorite. I consider her a favorite, but not in the top five. Besides, she is a former champion, so you can't write her off entirely.

Currently in order most likely to win in my view:

1. Maria - defending champion, has played consistently well all year.
2. Serena - has won a GS this year, has won this slam before, likes the surface and always has confidence in herself.
3. Justine - has just won a GS, lots of confidence, has always done well at this slam, likes the surface but is likely going to be tired and isn't getting her usual warm-up tournament.
4. Lindsay - displayed more grit at RG than she has in a long while, has won this before, game suits this surface but I'm still not sure she has the desire and heart to beat the three players above at a slam.
5. Amelie - was looking very good last year until the injury and the pressure will be off her. Still not sure she can beat the other top players at a slam, but I think she'll do well.
6. Kim - injury question mark, bad loss (for her) at RG, game doesn't really suit this surface but will still almost certainly power through to the second week.
7. Sveta - has a lot of potential to do well on grass but that loss to Justine may have damaged her confidence.
8. Ana Ivanovic - bit of a question mark generally but I reckon she ought to do well on grass. Wouldn't be suprised to see her in the SF.

Well before JHH won RG it was Maria, Serena and Lindsay. Personally i think its Lindsay and Maria. Serenas been out for ages and I think the above 3 will take out Justine fairly swiftly at WImbledon. Marias gonna be hyped as shes defending champ so will play well, Lindsay wants a slam desperately and knows she has a good shot at this, and serena is serena!
