even though she played like cr*p today and lost quite humiliatingly, she still managed to overshadow Justine's moment. :o During the presentation cermony, Mary looked more like she had emerged victorious as her speech was delayed by an outpouring of emotion. Then, when she finally composed herself, her speech was never-ending as she stole Justine's thunder. Ah Mary, even when dealt a painful defeat, she still demands authority and all the attention, regardless of the situation to show the diva she is  ;)

the belgian commentator said "pierce gave a speech that lasted longer than the match itself" (Not to be sarcastic, just stating the obvious)

Anyway Justine won the title so I don't care how long or dramatic the speech was.. (besides I genuinely think pierce is a nice person and didn't do it consciously)

But in spite of that, Justine played extremely well today and really showed that she is a champion because although her level wasn't high in the first week, she raised it when she needed to.

Well done Justine!

Amelie Mauresmo was there to cheer Mary !!! So nice of her if we consider the nightmare RG represents for her after her losses every year, she could have chosen to avoid Paris but no she stayed and even answered to our journalist during the match, maybe she thought it was better to see how's a final in RG !
Tatiana Golovin was there too.
French solidarity ;)

Amazing performance from Mary yesterday.

I am talking about the speech, naturally - the tears, clutching the runner-up plate tight as she watched Justine's speech, deep breaths, hugs from the President of the French Tennis Federation, more deep breaths, more tears, quivering voice at the start, gets stronger as she feels some crowd support and 10 minutes later finishes with a big smile.

Gotta love Mary, she's all about the drama. Yesterday though every minute of it was all totally genuine. It was an emotional moment for her filled with sadness she couldn't win and joy that she was back in a Slam final against the odds after people had written her off.

Be proud Mary! I am and so are the rest of the fans

justine doens't have the charisma mary has.
justine is a great player, mary handles the press and the cameras better.
like shahar peer in israel is liked better than smashnova by far, cuz she gives the crowd something they need.
