2002 French Open: Serena Williams
2002 Wimbledon: Serena Williams
2002 US Open: Serena Williams
2003 Australian Open: Serena Williams
2003 French Open: Justine Henin-Hardenne
2003 Wimbledon: Serena Williams
2003 US Open: Justine Henin-Hardenne
2004 Australian Open: Justine Henin-Hardenne
2004 French Open: Anastacia Myskina
2004 Wimbledon: Maria Sharapova
2004 US Open: Svetlana Kuznetsova
2005 Australian Open: Serena Williams
2005 French Open: Justine Henin-Hardenne

That's two players sharing 10 out of the last 13 slams. The other three split between 3 players.

I don't want to say "I don't told you so" but I remember I said it'll be Serena-Justine show over the next few years. Barring health issues, of course. The Russian Revolution was very much overrated. Sharapova, though, is course here to stay. She's the Czarina after all.

Its a little scary when u look at it like that! They have really dominated.
I hope, for the health of the game, that serena gets fit and motivated, henin stays healthy and finds her best from.
They could be the new Graf/ seles, nav/ evert.

After all both are the two best fighters and mentally strongest players out there!

So i guess Justine is right, winning is not about luck, its how you play the big points and both are famous for winning and closing big points!

I don't think Serena is Justine's rival. Serena gets injured too much and doesn't take it seriously enough.

What's missing is a Justine-Serena final :(

yeah, i though about it as well.... it is scary!

i hope Kim wins her first slam soon, looking at Myskina's name as a slam winner makes me sad... Kim could have won RG and US Open last year if she wasn't injured...

For regular tournamens you might be right, but when itīs major time...you know Serena will step it up and that is more than can be said from most top 10 players....

but its also interesting to note that three of justine's four slam wins the tournament did not include serena williams....and the one that did justine barely escaped defeat.... :wavey:

Yeah, I can see that Serena is just WASHED up.

She WON only SIX of the 14 slams.

She won ONLY six of the 10 that she entered!!

Obviously washed up. She hasn't won a slam since late JANURARY.

She hasn't lost a Slam in 2005! Still... WASHED UP!!

Also, It seems that Justine got much less Sh*t for her LONG layoff than Serena and Venus did!!??

Comments welcome!

Two of those three were FOs.
Which is played on clay.
Serena has won exactly TWO clay-court tournaments during her long career.
She is no factor on that surface.

Uhhhh.....

One of them was RG 2002, I guess that does not count!! Finals in Berlin obviously does not count either! IO and RG seem to me to be rather big wins. Venus has won more But the big prize RG had eluded her.

Who is Anastacia Myskina? I don't recall any such player on the WTA Tour.

Re: overrated - so good to be overrated when you still have your name engraved into that Slam trophy forever! :D

actually only one of them was a french open....this years....serena played the 03 french...serena would have been the favorite at us open 03' and ao 04' had she not had the knee injury ;) .....and you say serena is no factor on clay yet she has won the french open...how the hell does that make any sense..she has killed momo on clay...she has beaten enna in straight sets in the rome final and we all know that the 03' semi was serena's to lose after she had a 4-2 30-0 lead

Of course....IF she can reach that peak at Wimbledon of course.....havenīt seen much peakness from her at Wimby, now have we?

2001 6-1 3-6 6-0
2002 6-3 6-2
2003 6-3 6-2

So if youīre paying attention...in her last three losses Enna has won an average of 6 GAMES per match.
