She thanked Sony Ericsson the sponsor happened not to be a French brand (what is still a French brand anyway) and those stupid people booed !

Great incentive for future investors !

What's the deal with the Frenchies and Ericsson? I mean as far as I know that's like a mobile phone company. Are they bitter Maria didn't win and they prefer Motorola?

I'm too lazy but the normal stuff.

However why did they boo her??? All she did is thanking Ericsson.

I think that when she paused, they thought she'd finished speaking without mentioning either the crowd or Mary. Once she'd carried on and thanked her camp, the crowd and said some kind words about Mary, they cheered her. But I'm not sure.

I'm sure someone with better French will translate her speech, it was sweet. I liked what she said about Carlos and Mary.

she said it was a great honour to play against mary and that she had liked it.

She dedicated her victory to carlos and thanked him a lot and said she hoped he would stay with her for a few more years.
she also thanked her husband for having so much patience with her and she said she was proud of him.

That's not that we don't like Sonny Erikson, it's just not a french thing to speak sponsor and money in a ceremony that's all. It sounds like the players have to do it, it's not natural, it's commercial "thank you to you for giving so many money" etc...it's taboo.
For example french people dislike the fact the president gives the check to the finalists on the court in the us open.

The French crowds are just rude and snobbish. It's that simple.

I really think its you that hate French people... Justine is one of the most appreciated players in France  Of course they were disappointed, but its not the reason of the boo... Its not because people are different from you that they are stupid

Excellent! ;) So many French haters here, who are not able to take into consideration differences in culture  Everything they dont understand is necessarily stupid to them :fiery:

you have to admit that people (so called haters) have reason to see the worst in everything French crowd does... This crowd HAS been unfair numerous times over the years (as in RG 2005), so no surprise we are cynical.

In court, a judge sometimes say to the objection of one of the sides: YOU open a door for this question. Let me put it this way: French crowd opened a door for what you called hate.

I know what you mean but please do not mix the boo during the speech and the one during a match with a French player. In this case, its purely chauvinism and often too excessive
Im really irritated by the number of threads about this matter (5 so far I think)... Thats why I react like that. But note that i didnt react when people complain about the boo of the crow during a match...
But Im more irritated when people go on to be cynical threads after threads without taking into consideration the explanation we gave... Some people are saying that the crow booed cause Sony Ericson is not a French brand :cuckoo:

the only reason that i don't enjoy watching RG is cause of the french crowd. They boo and jeer at anything. Its ridiculous. I don't know why they boo at ridiculous moments. Maybe its cause they have NEVER won war and have only contributed a funny hat and a ugly dog to the world. ;)
anywhoo its over and justine whiped mary.

to answer the question (as some other also did)

she said she's very proud of PY, she says it's great what he does, being only 25. She said 'thanks for sticking with me' because I am not an easy person.

She thanked her friends for being there with her

She especially wanted to dedicate the victory to Rodriguez, saying 'he is one of the only people who has never left her down'. She hopes he will stay with her a few more years and that they can go 'all the way'.

She thanked Mary, saying it was an honour playing against her.

She thanked the sponsours and the crowd for giving her so much support.

She forgot the ballkids ;)

For me, a hater is someone who hates something or somebody else... When looking in a dictionnary, to hate means to have a great aversion to, with a strong desire that evil should befall the person toward whom the feeling is directed, to dislike intensely, to detest... And when reading some of the posts in this thread, there is no other word than haters to qualify their authors... Its not a judgment, its just a fact. But no offense, everybody has the right to hate the behaviour of a crow. As I have the right to hate some arguments in this thread ;)
It was just a clarification of the definition
