Varavra isn't playing. Li can't play. I believe if Linetskaya gets a good draw, she could do very well :)

Varvara can't play outside the US.

LOL at most of those.
I believe Ana Ivanovic will pull a surprise or two at Wimby. :)

I don't think wins by Ana can be considered a "surprise" anymore. She's nearly top-20

Sania Mirza and Anna Chakvetadze can rock the grass.

Actually, if what I hope for happens, it will be a surprise. ;)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, same with Karatancheva.

Sorry that I included Lepchenko and Li, didn't realise they weren't playing.

Maybe Roberta Vinci?? People say her tennis suits grass perfectly :D
Plus it's about time she does something nice in GS

I think that's more of a hope then what could actually really happen. :smash:

Venus! Don't write her off! :)

I was going to say but it is almost embarrassing at this stage in Vee's career to be thinking of her now as being a possible "surprise package" at Wimbledon when her record there from 2000-2004 is so awesome.

I'd say Mirza. Indians tend to play well on grass. They have quite alot of grasscourts there too.

I have a feeling Jelena Jankovic will do good there.

Nicole and Ana will make noise on the grass.

Vaidisova definitely. She has the game for grass. The rest of the players in the poll are either not as good on grass (Peer...basically all of those youngsters since they have crappy serves), not playing (Li), or not ready (Kutuzova).

And she's won the Wimbledon Juniors doubles title, too.

Ana Ivanovic is no longer a "surprise" mainly because I doubt any girl out there will underestimate her. Having said that, her game should excell on grass.

From that list and from what I know, I would go with Vaidisova and Linetskaya as being able to make something on grass as I think they have some power in their game

I went with Linetskaya. I also think that Mirza and Vaidisova could have good tournaments.

These 3 Players Might do Well

1.Kim Clijsters
2.Elena Dementieva
3.Svetlana Kuznetsova

all 3 of them didnt win one singles match last year at SW19.Kim was injured and both the Russian lost in th 1st Round.i think all 3 of them can make to the QF

Kutuzova has done well lately on hardcourts, so I think she will suit great to play on grass.

Na Li is not playing. I think she would play amazing on grass.

Well they are top players,so i hardly think you could call them surprise packages.
From the youngsters i think Nicole will do very well, and Anna Chakvedatze too.I think Sania could do well too.Her forehand esp could do some serious damage on grass, but really the girl is so darn unpredictable.

Anna Chakvetadze reached the final at Wimbledon, in juniors in 2003, i think she can do extremely well on grass :rocker: :rocker: :rocker:
I can see Mirza,Ivanovic,Krajicek and Vaidisova going far here :D
Safarova can make an upset too :rocker:
I hope that Anastasia Myskina will play at a decent level and go far here, it could be also considered as a little surprise :D

why isn't Li Na playing?

I think Sugiyama or one of the Jap gals will kick some ass.

It'll be good to see Mary reaching the quarters but I think it' unlikely.
