View Full Version : Mixed Event in Madrid for 2007 !

Madrid will host an ATP-WTA event for 2007, the 2005 ATP tournament was presented days ago in Paris and the Director said that for 2007 the've bought the first days of May, the tournament will be played the first year in Club de Campo Villa de Madrid (host the former Madrid WTA event), and for 2008 will be played in the Magic Box, the Olympic Tennis Centre that is now under construction. For 2007 the ATP-WTA have decided to have 4 mixed tournaments of 10 days:
Indian Wells
Miami
Madrid
and another one in Asia

cool! mixed tournaments are what I want so that certain players can "mingle"

and what will happen to the TMS of Madrid in october ? it will be replaced by this mixed event in may or it has nothing to do with that ???

yes, the Masters will be this new tournament but in May and on Clay!

They should try to schedule a few more joint tournaments because some less enthusiastic fans in those countries might be more apt to attend if they know that they can see players from both tours.

Probably not. They're trying for a Tier 1.
