After about 25th position it suddendly drops and you have players like Jaslyn Hewitt, Katie O-Brien, Jelena Dokic in 34-36th position!! DutchieGirl Jun 3rd, 2005, 02:08 AM It;s based on May 9th rankings don't forget... gillibean Jun 3rd, 2005, 03:27 AM no its still really weird - the next in list is really really weird. DutchieGirl Jun 3rd, 2005, 03:50 AM  Well all I'm worried about is #1 on the next in list... ;) I didn't pay much attention after that...and that one is right! ;) tucker1989 Jun 3rd, 2005, 12:26 PM Did they not just have the Chinese National Championships in March, during the Nasdaq??? spiceboy Jun 3rd, 2005, 06:45 PM Can someone please explain the Next In list??? After about 25th position it suddendly drops and you have players like Jaslyn Hewitt, Katie O-Brien, Jelena Dokic in 34-36th position!! This is only an alternate list for MD...most players in qualifying didn't bother to sign up as they knew they won't have a chance to replace a player originally in MD ;) Nice seeing Jelena that optimistic though    spiceboy Jun 3rd, 2005, 06:51 PM  Well all I'm worried about is #1 on the next in list... ;) I didn't pay much attention after that...and that one is right! ;) Next in list will be updated too on Monday as the final update ;) And any player from MD withdrawing from Monday will be replaced by the following players: 1. Laura Pous Tió :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: 2. Michaella Krajicek 3. Stéphanie Cohen-Aloro 4. Lindsay Lee Waters 5. Eva Birnerova 6. Marie Eve Pelletier 7. Lourdes Domínguez Lino 8. Sandra Kloesel gillibean Jun 4th, 2005, 02:00 AM how big is qualie draw? and does it come out monday? DutchieGirl Jun 4th, 2005, 02:03 AM Next in list will be updated too on Monday as the final update ;) And any player from MD withdrawing from Monday will be replaced by the following players: 1. Sandra Kloesel err why is Pous Tio suddenly ahead of Misa now? Surely it's still based on the rankings from 9th May? And Misa is #1 on the next in list on the Wimby pdf file! :p Please don't give me heart attacks! ;) DutchieGirl Jun 4th, 2005, 02:07 AM how big is qualie draw? and does it come out monday? not sure, and no I doubt the draw will be out on Monday - quallies don't start till Mon 13th June...so I guess the draw will probably be done next weekend some time... spiceboy Jun 4th, 2005, 12:56 PM err why is Pous Tio suddenly ahead of Misa now? Surely it's still based on the rankings from 9th May? And Misa is #1 on the next in list on the Wimby pdf file! :p Please don't give me heart attacks! ;) Next Monday qualy list will be updated for the last time and by then Laura will be ahead of Misa in the rankings. They started doing so a few years ago after ridiculous situations like Marta Marrero being top seed in qualies as world #65 and recently being quarterfinalist in RG   This last updated will allow to compete players like Rezai too due to big points won in Paris :) spiceboy Jun 4th, 2005, 12:59 PM how big is qualie draw? and does it come out monday? Qualy draw have 96 players in Melbourne, Paris and London and 128 players in New York ;) And yeah, qualy draw will be out on Monday...but NOT this next Monday but the 13th polishprodigy Jun 4th, 2005, 04:53 PM Couldn't the Chinese be smart and logical and move their National Championships such that it would not conflict with Wimbledon? Seems a bit evil to me that the Federation would put the championships in that week - forcing top Chinese players to miss a Grand Slam. polishprodigy Jun 4th, 2005, 05:01 PM And Why is Chia-Jing Chuang playing the Chinese championships when she represents Taiwan (which we all know wants to separate from China and has been recognized internationally as a separate state) Tati & Dani Jun 4th, 2005, 11:32 PM the last years wimbledon have always a different entry list then the atp or wta rankings. if players played well the year before at wimbledon they are higher in the entry list then on the ranking. firehorse Jun 4th, 2005, 11:52 PM And Why is Chia-Jing Chuang playing the Chinese championships when she represents Taiwan (which we all know wants to separate from China and has been recognized internationally as a separate state) She is from Taiwan....I do not think she is playing for Chinese...I believe she will play Qualifying:wavey: firehorse Jun 4th, 2005, 11:54 PM Couldn't the Chinese be smart and logical and move their National Championships such that it would not conflict with Wimbledon? Seems a bit evil to me that the Federation would put the championships in that week - forcing top Chinese players to miss a Grand Slam. If I am right that National Championship is a way for each province to get funded so thats why all players feel time to pay back to their provinces also they do not have National games every year...:wavey: DutchieGirl Jun 5th, 2005, 01:17 AM Next Monday qualy list will be updated for the last time and by then Laura will be ahead of Misa in the rankings. They started doing so a few years ago after ridiculous situations like Marta Marrero being top seed in qualies as world #65 and recently being quarterfinalist in RG   This last updated will allow to compete players like Rezai too due to big points won in Paris :) But that's the ALT list, not the quallie list, and Misa won't play quallies, she'll be MDO because she's playing Roslamen the week before. And is Wimby the only slam to do this? COz the AO doesn't do this... it always uses the rankings from 6 weeks before, and only the seeds for quallies and MD are changed for the week before's ranking... RG was the same... coz Misa had to play quallies, but she was seeded 6th as she moved up a little... DutchieGirl Jun 5th, 2005, 01:19 AM the last years wimbledon have always a different entry list then the atp or wta rankings. if players played well the year before at wimbledon they are higher in the entry list then on the ranking. hmm but the lists they put out so far go exactly by the rankings for the women... spiceboy Jun 5th, 2005, 08:44 PM And is Wimby the only slam to do this? Wimbledon is unique for different reasons and this is one of them, just to prevent players who did great in Paris having to qualify when they are well into the top 100 :) Piotr'ek Jun 5th, 2005, 10:01 PM is harkleroad playin? :p we want back :) DutchieGirl Jun 6th, 2005, 01:04 PM Wimbledon is unique for different reasons and this is one of them, just to prevent players who did great in Paris having to qualify when they are well into the top 100 :) Well Misa did good in Paris as well...so why the hell should Pous Tio get to be above her...she lost in the final r of quallies, Misa quallified! :p DutchieGirl Jun 6th, 2005, 01:08 PM Wimbledon is unique for different reasons and this is one of them, just to prevent players who did great in Paris having to qualify when they are well into the top 100 :) oh and btw... I don't call 98 "well into the top 100"...coz that's where Pous Tio is... 98, 1 spot ahead of Misa at 99! :p spiceboy Jun 6th, 2005, 05:48 PM oh and btw... I don't call 98 "well into the top 100"...coz that's where Pous Tio is... 98, 1 spot ahead of Misa at 99! :p I didn't mean Laura nor Michaella but weird situations like Marrero a few years ago ;) DutchieGirl Jun 7th, 2005, 12:52 AM I didn't mean Laura nor Michaella but weird situations like Marrero a few years ago ;) ahh I see! ;) Rising Sun Jun 7th, 2005, 04:43 PM Couldn't the Chinese be smart and logical and move their National Championships such that it would not conflict with Wimbledon? Seems a bit evil to me that the Federation would put the championships in that week - forcing top Chinese players to miss a Grand Slam. Tennis won't be the only sport in the National Games. They can't change things to cater only for tennis players. ;) Rising Sun Jun 7th, 2005, 04:44 PM She is from Taiwan....I do not think she is playing for Chinese...I believe she will play Qualifying:wavey: Chia-Jung is playing a $25K in Korea. Rising Sun Jun 7th, 2005, 04:48 PM I'm confused. Why is Meng Yuan No.34 on the Alternates list?  maxomax Jun 11th, 2005, 12:19 AM Still no withdraw in main draw... Marie-Ève will have to pass by qualy  Rising Sun Jun 14th, 2005, 05:02 PM BTW, when are the maindraws being made? I thought it was usually made on the Tuesday? LafandeMary Jun 14th, 2005, 05:37 PM On thursday ;) Rising Sun Jun 15th, 2005, 12:41 AM Bovina withdrew Krajicek gets in on her own right WC has gone to British Girl Sarah Borwell who scratched from Qualies.... I didn't know that was allowed. Which points will they take into account for the rankings? It's like playing 2 tourneys. | |
