Apr 5th, 2002, 03:54 AM
We have a saying in spanish, that says: "el que con nios se acuesta, amanece mojado". is almost impossible to translate literally this saying, but means that relationship could bring some problems to martina. i hope not, but the previous experiences makes me pessimist about that
 :o

well, you know martina could be more interested in sergio than in tennis. when martina was involved in this kind of relationships her results in tennis were not exactly the best results
btw Good luck to them! :wavey:

So, Marti's teaching Sergio, how to play tennis,
And in exchange Marti'll learn golf, is that what it is?,
So, eventually they could change careers,
Either way, they'll both get the cheers,
Although I can't personally see Marti playing golf,
As I can't find anything else to rhyme with golf.

Either way, Marti looks great,
She makes other players look like a right state,
Eminates beauty and charm too,
Woah Martina, we all love you!

But hopefully Serge won't tire Martina's lovely head,
On the tennis court, golf course, and of course in the bed :p :D

Silvano who you may wonder. Well he's a little hero in Switzerland. (Had a terrible crash last year at the dwonhill in Val d'Isere and has now left the reha center and moved back home into the mountains again.)
And yesterday they were both guest at the Sportpanorama.
First came Martina (gee I wish I could post a pic as she really looked great - and that's coming from a girl ;))
They talked about Myriam and her good results in Budapest. Martina aknowleged that just before Myriam left for Budapest they were again training together and that she (Martina) found it harder and harder to beat her (Myriam). She also mentioned that the good results from Patty give her some confidence too. As it shows that Serena and Jenny are actually beatable!! The moderator also asked her about here many homes and where she actually feels beeing at home. Well right now she's at Schindeleggi at her Moms place. But for her home is Trbbach the place where she grew up. They also visited her at Schindeleggi. Showing her home a bit, but most of the time she was doing sports, inline skatin, bikeing, and yes horse ridding. The moderator asked her how she's been spending the time at the actual break. Martina said that she likes to be home and have a break but that she really has to work hard to stay on the top level. Looks like she's taking her business more serious by saying the older you get the wiser you are ;-) She confirmed that she also spend some time in Spain. Playing some tennis with Sergio and also tried to do some golf but wasn't that good at it. She also confirmed that before she new the details for her golf was a boring sport. She mentioned hat the relation is just at the beginning and that sometimes it's hard to match up the two busy shedules. Coming back to her great year she had so far (Leads the price monney winning list for this year and the list for wta points won for this year. She also said that she really enjoyed to have been able to be home during her recovery last Nov. and Dez. And that it helped her a lot to just do other things and just relax too. Beeing able to even follow some other sports like soccer, icehockey and skiing - thats when Silvano joined them. She seamed to be pretty interrested and impressed about how he's been doing and what he's going to do. Then she said she has already been thinking about what she's going to do in a few years when she's retiring from playing tennis. But couldn't really she her sitting in an office all the time or going back to school. Said she's learning spanish right now but is having a hard time to sit still.

Well that just was a short recap. Hope I didn't mix it up too much. I'll look out for a pic from her and Silvano but no luck so far...

Apr 22nd, 2002, 05:03 PM
Thanks for the article,Doris! :wavey:

thanx for the update Doris Loeffel :D, hopefull you'll be able to get that pic ;) :)

Apr 23rd, 2002, 07:23 AM
thanks Doris but who's Myriam????

Doris Loeffel
Apr 23rd, 2002, 07:38 AM
LOL@Jomar (and I thought you're a tennis fan ;) )

It wasen't an article but a TV show. Sportpanorama is the big weekly TV news report about Sport. Always on Sunday at 18.15 h on SFDRS 1 (with a rerun later on SFDRS 2)

I try to get one. No luck so far.....

Apr 23rd, 2002, 08:37 AM
ok, I went to check the Budapest Forum.;) Myriam Casanova eh! Is this her first WTA tourney....and a runner-up finish isn't bad at all.:wavey: thanks for your help Doris.:p

Apr 23rd, 2002, 09:00 AM
Yeah after reading it again I realised it was a programme. Thanks. How annoying, where I work we pick up that channel. I could have got it.

Doris Loeffel
Apr 23rd, 2002, 09:41 AM
Rich I let you know next time she's invited... might be a while now unless she finally wins RG!!

Jomar yep her first WTA tournament!! To bad she couldn't go all the way. (Side note Myriam had a better start at her first tournament than Martina back in 94!! ;) OK I admit it wasn't the same level of tournament too  )

Apr 23rd, 2002, 09:59 AM
Thanks a lot Doris for the report(update).

Where is Schindeleggi? Which big city Schindeleggi is near by?

Apr 23rd, 2002, 10:10 AM
Martina needs to do only two things to win Paris.

1.Stay Totally Focused.

2.No matter what the reception, Play Her own game , if she sees a line call that is bad, say it, Don't be afraid to be Martina, as she has done in France since that Final.

Doris Loeffel
Apr 23rd, 2002, 10:44 AM
Schindellegi is near the boarder of the lake of Zurich, close to Wollerau.

For further details go to www.schindellegi.ch

I know it's all in German but click on Portrait and then on Geografische Daten there you'll see a map with a little grey spot on it. That's about where Schindellegi is.

Apr 23rd, 2002, 01:43 PM
Thanks for letting me know. I know we sometimes tape the Swiss channels to pick up their football coverage (I work in Sport Sponsorship) so I will check out to see if we have a tape. I remember reading last year that Melanie was buying a new house and maybe Martina would use it as a training camp. This is obviously it.

Doris Loeffel
Apr 23rd, 2002, 05:00 PM
Then you might be lucky as there was quite a lot about football too. As the swiss championship's coming to an end and it pretty much looks like the FC Basel will be the winner.

Apr 23rd, 2002, 05:44 PM
I will have to look at the weekend though as it's quite hard to explain you're looking at a tape for coverage of Miss Hingis, lol. Bit embarrassing. You don't hear anything of the Swiss league over here. We only got to know about it when St Gallen beat Chelsea a couple of years ago. Which incidently Marti was at. Aren't Basel managed by Christian Gross. He used to manage my team, Tottenham.

Apr 23rd, 2002, 09:44 PM
Christian Gross was the best thing that happened to Scum Spurs!

Sergio is looking extremely good  :hearts: Marti looks great too.

What a cute couple!

Thanx for all the articles guys! :D

Apr 23rd, 2002, 10:58 PM

Vielen Dank fuer das Neueste ueber Martina. I miss her so much. Let's go MARTINA , patty, Emmanuella, Miroslava and Myriam. Also Roger and Michel! :D

Doris Loeffel
Apr 24th, 2002, 09:51 AM
I remember that match too. And Martina did watch it in the stadion and the camaras focused on her. (To my shame I have to addmit that it took me quite a while till I recognised her... oooppss ;))

And yes Christian Gross is coaching FC Basel now. And if they win todays match against YB (hmmm an English TV station did once a special about YB as they've been quite surprising and actually still are for beeing new in the NLA) they'll be the new swiss champion.

Hmmm on that sunday show must also be reports about FC St. Gallen and GC (guess GC is the best know team from Switzerland as they usually do pretty good in the European league). And for sure there's a report about the swiss hockey team and about Sauber the F1 racing team oh and not to forget bits and peaces abour Myriams final.....

Apr 24th, 2002, 12:13 PM
Thanks for the update, Doris!!!!!

Apr 24th, 2002, 01:12 PM
OOO only three days till I can check the tape. I bet we didn't record it this weekend. Would be my luck. But I guess I'm lucky that I might have it at all.

Yes Grasshoppers is the most famous club. I think the Champions League is badly set up. It should have the champions of each country. Teams like Grasshoppers have to qualify and that doesn't represent a European league.

Doris Loeffel
Apr 24th, 2002, 05:01 PM
I'll keep the fingers crossed for you that you'll get a copi of it.

Apr 25th, 2002, 10:06 AM
Just in case u might be interrested FC Basel is the new swiss soccer champion. Beating YB 3:0.

Apr 25th, 2002, 01:11 PM
Saw that on Eurosportnews last night. Is that your team. Well done if so. Although naturally I'd support St Gallen as Marti has shown a bit of support, lol.

Doris Loeffel
Apr 25th, 2002, 05:08 PM
Wow!!! Eurosport mentioned something about swiss soccer!!

Doris makes a big cross on the ceiling!!

No my team is GC!! Even though I actually should support YB location wise ;) Been so for ages and no I don't change to Martinas club :p

Miss Doris, i heard from Euronews that Marti's playing the Federal Cup. Is this true???? I hope so.  :wavey:

Apr 27th, 2002, 04:04 PM
We didn't tape SF2 on Sunday. Doris you will now have to make me jealous by telling me what Marti was wearing.

Apr 28th, 2002, 10:39 AM
False news, i didn't see marti's participation. well, Betty Barclay is bettah.:bounce:

Doris Loeffel
Apr 29th, 2002, 08:44 AM
Rich how about SF1?? Sportpanorama is first shown at 18.15 on SF1 then the same day is a replay on SF2 around 23.00 h

Martina was wearing black trousers with a black top covered with a white blouse. The hair was open (similar to the omega-pics).

Apr 29th, 2002, 09:03 AM
Now I'm drooling, lol. No, we didn't tape any Swiss TV that weekend. We taped Croatia, Hungary, Germany, France, Italy. I could go on. How very irritating.

Doris Loeffel
Apr 29th, 2002, 10:13 AM
