Any of you get SI? There is an article on Hingis and it lists men she has dated and their careers pre-Hings and post-Hingis.
Goes like this: A European temptress leaves behind a string of boyfriends who discover that their careers are in peril after their encounters with the woman.... blah blah... then Romantic Resume of tennis's black widow, Martina Hingis..
Then it lists 5 guys: Here is one:
Justin Gimelstob:
Pre-Martina--- Promising US prospect who turned pro at age 19 in 1996 and broke into the top 100 by July 97.
Dated Hingis --- SUmmer 97
Post - Hingis -- Plummeted to 138.

It also mentions Julian Alonso, Ivo Heuberger, Magnus Norman and Chris Calkin.

Strange article for a sports magazine.. Has SI gone tabloid?

Article is in their October 15th edition.

I didn't know she dated Justin Gimelstob? Wasn't he Venus' mixed doubles partner at one time, or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes, Venus did pair w/ him in 1998. They won the Australian Open title 6-2, 6-1 over Cyril Suk and Helena Sukova, a Czech brother-sister pair

Funny...if I'm not correct Magnus Norman played the best tennis of his life while he was WITH Hingis, not after they split. Then he got injured.
Funny how they mess thing up like that <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

An opposite example, Anna Kournikova, when she is with Hingis, her results get better.. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

Here is the whole article.. it's from the magazine.. I haven't seen it on the CNN/SI site.
A European temptress leaves behind a string of boyfriends who discover that their careers are in peril after their encounters with the woman. This week's episode of Law and Order? No, just the romantic resume of tennis's black widow, Martina Hingis .
To wit:

Justin Gimelstob:
Pre-Martina--- Promising US prospect who turned pro at age 19 in 1996 and broke into the top 100 by July 97.
Dated Hingis --- SUmmer 97
Post - Hingis -- Plummeted to 138.

Julian Alsonso:
Pre-Martina: Hard-hitting Spaniard who broke into top 40 at beginning of 1998
Dated Hingis: Summer 98
Post-Martina: Finished 98 at 106; now unranked and suffering from a chronic back ailment.

Ivo Heuberger:
Pre-Martina: No 2 player in Switzerland rose to 125 in world rankings in 98
Date Martina: Summer 99
Post-Martina: Finished 99 at 219

Cris Calkin:
Pre Martina: Up and coming assistant state attorney in Florida's Dade County; assigned to high profile Hingis stalking case earlier this year.
Dated Martina: April 01 to present
Now:
Accused of unethical conduct and conflict of interest by lawyer for convicted stalker Dubravko Rajcevic, due to Calkin's relationship with Hingis. (Calkin said he and Hings began dating after the case; a circuit judge rule Rajcevic's conviction will stand).

Doesn't have an author.. I guess no one wanted to live up to writing this.

Becca.. I was thinking the same thing about Magnus.. I thought he reached the final of the USO that year...

I also find it interesting that since Martina began dating Chris that she hasn't won anything. BTW, I thought Anna was the European temptress? Anna doesn't have any titles to her name on court and now Martina is taking one away off the court! Anna's gunna be pissed! LOL!

Meesh: while dating Martina, Norman won the tennis masters series Rome (beating Guga by the way...unrelated but I've came to the conclusion that beating Guga there is a curse <IMG SRC="smilies/firey.gif" border="0"> ). Then he reached the finals of the French Open. They broke up after all of that I think.
Then he had a half decent rest of the year, and finshed fourth.
Got injured this year and thre rest is history

Becca: You're ruining a good story.

The idea of Martina as a femme Fatale, who leaves a trail of ruined men behind her....

I read somewhere that Magnus started t date a Swedish model or something after Martina. Hm, yah, Marti hasn't won anything after she hooked up with that lawyer.. <IMG SRC="smilies/firey.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/firey.gif" border="0">
