View Full Version : Posters who have more vCash than other know more about tennis?

Now I just wagered some dough on the French open, but besides that. If somebody has say ‘vCash$4375’ and another poster has ‘vCash$120’ then the one with more cash knows more about tennis. The proofs there!
Now I know some don't gamble. And some don't have the nerve to put the money where their mouth is. But you can't go around the forums preaching on tennis when you have very little vCash to back it up.

Tsk. Everyone is what we royals call "New V Money". I come from a family of history and standing, we Wades are Old V Money.

you do lose it, but you're given $25 when you get to $0
and if you're quick enough you can get lots of $25's (just use that $25 and wait for next $25 when next match is put up

I'm still not buying what you said. If you really wanted to lose it all you'd have zero. ;):)

I hang on pretty well in there with vCash for not following tennis anymore as close as I did before september 2004 ;)

It has a lot to do with taking risk and having luck

not really. i have no vcash coz i bet the opposite on this board than i do in real life - just like i did with PAW.

in real life the point is to win, pick a few upsets, but always maintain a profit margin.

on this board it's about the upset coz i don't care if i lose imaginary money.

Some posters use vCash to jinx their fav's opponents. Sometimes it fails :fiery:, and you win some money ;)

I’ll buy that, there’s a little luck involved in gambling. A player can get injured which you cannot foresee.

But I can’t see the risk in using judgement or knowledge in betting on which player will be victorious over the other. You have all the facts in front of you. Surface, heads-to-heads, whatever. So it can’t be all down to risk and luck.
Now I have very little knowledge about tennis, and have only been on here a short period of time, so how can I have amassed more winnings than those who are supposedly more knowledgeable than I?
You read in numerous threads posters telling other posters why playerA can’t beat playerB yet they have very little cash, incredible!

Don't buy this theory either.:)That’s why some never go under the $500 mark. They don’t want somebody pointing this out.

People who are knowledgeable dont waste their time piling up of stashes of pretend money.

Smart people use their knowledge to make REAL money.

So the answer to the thread starter's question is no.

knowledge is important, but it's only the upper layer. the foundation of gambling is luck. whether it be the stock market or poker, or some fake cash betting on a tennis message board. you can know all the facts in the world, all the possibilities, and still get fucked in the end cos it comes down to luck. ask people who play the stock market.

the hardest part of gambling is winning your money back when you've almost lost it all. winning is just a streak... it won't last forever. :)

Look I have made a fortune on tennis betting. Now I know this money isn’t for real, it’s just meant to be a bit of fun. That’s all I teat it as. I take risks on here I wouldn’t take normally when gambling, but I’m still ahead.

Now I’m not as knowledge as many on this board. And there’s plenty on here always blowing their own trumpet on what they know about the game. It seems very odd that they have very little vcash left in their accounts when they know so much. (According to them)

The only luck in gambling is the lottery. There's nothing lucky in thinking that one player can defeat another.

I could have thousands but I purposely bid against my favourites in order to jinx their opponent

E.g.

I bet all my vCash on Safina beating Li Na because that would mean if Safina won I would get tons of cash but deep in my heart I knew that Li Na would thrash her.

;)

:worship:

Did you get that idea from me? :p

Maybe it's not what you wanted to hear, maybe it's not as thought provoking as you would wish, but you got the perfect reply here:knowledge is important, but it's only the upper layer. the foundation of gambling is luck. whether it be the stock market or poker, or some fake cash betting on a tennis message board. you can know all the facts in the world, all the possibilities, and still get fucked in the end cos it comes down to luck. ask people who play the stock market.

This post is totally wrong. The foundation of gambling depends on what you are gambling on. If you are gambling on the outcome of womens tennis matches, if you know enough information about the players, you can pick the winner a high percentage of the time, way better than 50 percent. If an oddsmaker is putting up money at 50-50 odds, you can make a killing, and it's not luck.

Martian Willow...lol, your avatar is hilarious :lol::lol:

And regarding this topic, I think some people take the vCash way to serious, obviously. Just like reputation points. People think that they are better than others with less rep points, when personally I could care less. As far as vCash, any given day a player has a bad day and you can lose all your cash. It doesn't mean you don't know anything of tennis, although it could mean that you are bad at investing or spending money wisely ;) Personally, when I lost all my money, I just happened to be in the mood to fork out all my money on a low odds player for the fun of it. Now if it was real money, not likely would I do that, but hey this is free and as you can see vCash nicely has giving me a daily $25 allowance. Thank you, vCash :wavey:

Yes :)

That's why everyone keeps getting injured.

P.S. The Jinx theory works, how else do you explain Li Na beating Safina after I bet all my money on jinxing her? ;)

Look, when two mediocre players play against each other, any of the two can win.

Yeah, I have very little knowledge about tennis. But I do have enough to put my money where my mouth is, in actual terms of making real money on tennis, as opposed to vcash. Then again, who on these forums essentially knows anything about tennis? Theyre just a bunch of stat whores, who don’t have an inkling about the game.

Do I talk out my arse? Yes, on a daily basis about every subject. That's what everybody does. Everyone on these forums are just a bunch of opinionated big mouths, who know everything about nothing. And if they had a life they wouldn't be on here.

And yes, I had a little luck once. But 99% of the time when I put money on a player she wins. How most on here aren’t millionaires seeing they know so much is truly amazing. lol

NO!

i "understand" very modern age tennis quite well, but alot of people here have actually seen steffi, martina or chris play - so i think they are way more "tennis knowledge" respectabe than i am.
i don't remember stuff as well - some people can give you the names and the years - but i do think i could be a good couch perhaps :)

I know a lot about tennis but dont have that much vcash simply bc I only bet very occasionally, and only small amounts.

Well you waste your time on wtaworld posting nonsense so why not everybody else.
If you knew anything about tennis (it's apparent you know very little) then you would have won loads of cash. And who said you knew a lot about tennis bar yourself? You've never played the game on a professional level. You only think you know something, but you don't really.:)
