Britain 3rd  Sighs

Unless these kids have problems then it is IMO always the parents fault for letting them get so fat.

Glad I'm not over-weight :bounce: ;)

The reason is very simple, to survive in Greenland you had to be fat, it protect you against the cold. People with no "fat genes" stood no chance to live through the winter. Still they eat the traditional seal fat and whale.eh dont know the english word, we call it hvalspekk.

Around one third of food grown for human consumption in the UK ends up in the rubbish bin, new figures reveal.

Statistics from the government and food industry show each adult wastes food to the value of £420 each year.

I bet it's fruit that gets binned

Azza... it's by percentage I'm sure.

It's not Maltese people's fault. They're stuck on a small island, they can't walk or run around or anything.

Not at all, my man. Germany is full of tall, svelte, blonde girlies with all-over suntans. :lick:

Or were you referring to the blokes? Who cares about them?

You know I was suprsed to see Malta at the top cos when i visited back in 2001 it didnt strike me as being a place of especially overweight people, especially the kids, but then there were a lot of tourists.

As for the UK being third its no suprise...we need to acknowledge the fact that there is a serious problem much like the US has done (you have to remember Malta is only three small islands).

That chart doesnt show all the countries...there were about 40 done in the survey..Lithuania came last...interestingly the last few countries were ALL former soviet states.

Maybe its because Malta is so small - you just start getting up a bit of speed when you go for a jog, only to find you've run out of road and have fallen into the sea! :p

This might be off-topic, but I saw the following on Jamie Oliver's tv show, "Jamie's School Dinners" which was about the poor standard of nutrition amongst British schoolchildren while in school:

A nutritionist in the UK revealed that a child was once brought in to see him because his diet had gotten so bad that he could no longer release his bowels or keep his food down. The child's diet consisted of mostly fatty foods and absolutely no fruit or vegetables, which he hated. An examination of the child showed that his bowels had been completely obstructed by fatty deposits on the walls of the small intestines leading into the bowels. A sample of the child's vomit found pieces of partially-developed faeces and blood. Because the child was still eating to survive (obviously) but could not release through his bowels, the digested food had to be released somehow. So, his body began shitting back up through his mouth. The child was obese, never exercised and in a terrible state of malnutrition.

It's amazing how parents could let their child do this to himself at such a young age without intervention.

the US has acknowledged the problem, but they haven't done anything to solve it. that shit the CDC released two weeks ago certainly doesn't help the situation.

I know very few people interested in Fitness that is British. I do my best with my physical restrictions, more than someone without any!

People seem more interest in booze and fags....
