we r all sad that kim lost. but she's only human. she can't go on winning forever. she did lose to the second seed, not somebody ranked outside the top 20. kim expected her own expectations by coming back winning back to back tier 1 titles. so a loss in a tier 2 semi finals doesn't mean much. i'll rather she lose now den lose in the early rounds of berlin, rome or roland garros. kim's still getting used to clay, the surface where she doesn't really like but reached 2 grand slam finals. so kim will be back! cheer up! :)

Kim is back and she isn't going anywhere. It's her first tournament on clay in a year so it's pretty normal that she's feeling uncomfortable on the red dirt initially. And she lost to Kuznetsova, who indeed is not having the best year she can, but is a dangerous player. I've read that the match was overall pretty bad off both sides, so she has nothing to worry about except getting better for Berlin.

Exactly! :worship: Not sure what's the point of this thread. I don't think anyone is really highly dissapointed or chocked that she lost. We're more worried about her shoulder who seemed to be bothering her. First tourney on clay, a SF is nothing to be ashamed of ;) And yeah Kuznetsova is dangerous, she couldn't keep on winning forever!

well... i'm sad her winning streak is broken... and disappointed as she did win her previous 3 meetings with kuz. although kuz has improved a lot...

Oh yeh, what about her shoulder? I didn't see the match today, so I haven't noticed anything yet about it, is it bothering her to the point it's affecting all her game, especially the serve? Well, I hope not and it must probably be 'cause she's had 3 tough matches this week and clay is so demanding. Relax, Kim!

You're probably right. But what we read from the comments and journalists (yeah I know shouldn't listen to half of what they say :smash: ) it was sore. It sounded as if she had a strap on it today but not sure. Anyone who's seen the match?

Losing a match is not a disaster, surely not after the amazing come back. So to her fans: no reason to panic.

Thanx for all your concern, you guys, but we don't panic and we're not worried (at least I'm not). She's been saying all week she doesn't like the clay and that she's looking forward to the grass season allready. Still she wants to improve on clay.

I don't understand why Kim decided to play both Berlin and Rome, as clay is hard on her body and she already has shoulder problems... I hope she withdraws from either Rome or Berlin because two tier 1 tournaments where she is likely to go far is a bit to much, she must play well in Paris!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I haven't really noticed any signs of pain in the shoulder as the match went by!
Only maybe she just slowed down her serve a little, but it's hard to guess just by watching!
And yes, there was some kind of strap, only it didn't seem to do much! ;)

She seemed tired in the 3rd tho, didn't run like she used to!
She made a lot of errors, especially from the backhand! And you not typical Kim errors, just some easy balls from the baseline!
She was more upset with her game, it seemed!

I'm not sure what to expect from her the rest of the clay season, but once we get back to the faster courts I have some really high expectations for her. I see a lot more trophies in her immediate future... no worries over here!

Yeah I don't get it either. Granted I haven't really read what may have been written in GM, but I think the mood in CCL is that Kim just lost to a better player who happens to be a GS champion and a top 10er who said she played her best tennis of the year, so that is what it took to beat Kim. So full credit to Kuznetsova for the win. imo Kim had a good week, was pushed hard and responded well to that, she made the semis in her first clay event in a year.

Hmm well that doesn't sound too good, but it was her first clay event in a year and she had some tough matches earlier on so not too surprised she tired in the 3rd set. I don't really mind, she can have an off day every now and then, tomorrow is a new day ;) and it isn't like she lost to a bad player, she lost to Kuznetsova. Kim is still adapting to clay and it will come eventually.

as I believe kim herself would say, no-one died, she only lost a tennis match, so I really don't see the need for a commiserations thread! :p
