View Full Version : Patty's official website disses Justine over 'Allez' incident

the report posted on patty-schnyder.ch after Justine's 61 62 victory over Patty:

"ALLEZ, ALLEZ!"

"Today Henin-Hardenne showed an absolutely exemplary display of the principles of 'Winning Ugly'. After each mistake by Patty, followed an inescapably audible 'Allez!"

well, at least it's more interesting than the post match write-ups you get on other player websites... :worship: Patty's Warsaw diary entries are also posted on the site.

patty, she always makes problems, that is why i like her ;)
justine needs these allez, so she would be stupid not to scream it out.
Some people dont like the wrist of serena our the screaming of sharapova. There are no rules about it, so why stop doing it :)

Crying over JuJu's "Allez's" is fudging retarded. Who gives a crap. For me, it's whatever motivates you. JuJu "Allez's", Kimmy "C'mon's", Masha "grunts (loudly)". Like I said, "Big Deal " Whatever motivates and energizes you. As long as you're not verbally abusing (i.e.cursing) your opponent or (God forbid) going across the net and whooping their @ss, then it's no big deal. Cry me a river

Btw, honestly who's not happy when their opponent misses a point. Someone has to get it, and I'd rather it be me than my opponent. Think about it ;)

Justine isn't confident. She is shouting out allez more than she used to to convince herself she is winning. She's doing it more than she used to and far more often than you would hear a Jennifer or Steffi or Serena or Kim "come on". She's also doing it sometimes in anticipation with the ball still in play but unlikely to come back.

She's not the only culprit but she does it more than anyone other than Serena or Maria amongst the top players and Serena plays less, more in front of home crowds and tends to reserve her vocals for the later stages of big tournaments whilst Maria can claim youth in her defence. At some point someone will complain that her or some other player doing it is interruption or intimidation or some bright sparks in the a crowd that don't like it will start shouting "allez" back everytime she hits an error.

that's an interesting comparison. Justine is reminding me a little of Serena after she came back from her long layoff, winning matches more on guts than technique. It helped her keep her concentration today though, didn't lose a lead or get down too far in the 2nd. Still I'm sure it's annoying as hell for the opponent with her allezing to will the ball out :p

It could be worse, like having your opponent releasing some tension off from their derrier, lol :haha:, this would be atomic abuse :haha: totally agree with you, it may not be sportsman like, but usually overly sportsmen like players dont have the most success, its usually the greedier more tenacious opponents who win the most because they want it the most.:tape:

I don't know about other fans who fall under the Williams Sisters umbrella, however I am an individual and like to be regarded as one with individual tastes. Venus/Serena don't belong to me anymore than Kim belongs to Kim fans. I adore all three for example. We like who we like - isn't that so much better than hating on players? If Patty was your favorite, I don't see how you could lose her, and a few fans of the Williams Sisters finding favor with her shouldn't mean a thing to your own feelings, which afterall, are your own. No offense either way.

Feigning knowledge is never cool. It is quite surprising that liking a player is questioned as if hating on them is more acceptable. Perhaps for you, likness of a player only extends as far as they don't beat your favorite players, but don't put that same slant on other posters, especially me. My favorites are my favorites, however when you truly appreciate another player and their talent, having them win even against someone who is on a higher tier of favorites on your list still has you as a fan coming out the winner in this game of tennis. Goodness.

just thought it was hilarious that you would talk so much shit about maria's one comment in an interview and then come in here and say that patty gfoing onto her website to diss a player would be a cool thing.

ideally you would hate neither of them--but that's not in your game. and that's asking far too much.

one of these players isn't beating any players you like, so she's no threat. so you can like her when she's bitchy. anyone else's bitchiness is an aweful aweful thing.

Such venom, and I don't talk shit, as I recall I was having civil discussions and debates with several other posters. None of which had to come down to cussing or personal attacks. We all held our own because we could, why you are having problems doing that is beyond me, but maybe that shouldn't be so surprising.

And if we take things a little further, by whatever logic you are using, you should find it funny that you brought up Serena's past words on Justine and a #1 ranking to justify Maria's words, only to then come and attack me with a blanket statement that showed you knew nothing of what you were talking about. The comedy of it all.

ideally you would hate neither of them--but that's not in your game. and that's asking far too much.

Again, if this fits you and your personal tastes, habits and thoughts, it doesn't have to fit somebody else. Being an individual usually points to that. I would apologize for hurting your feelings so much with my Maria comments but it seems rather a sad case right now. Ideally one would hope that you could differentiate and simply see.

one of these players isn't beating any players you like, so she's no threat. so you can like her when she's bitchy. anyone else's bitchiness is an aweful aweful thing.

So you felt it relevant to bring in another thread, that had nothing to do with Patty or Justine all to call me a hypocrite to make yourself feel better that I didn't care for Maria's words :o I can like Patty, I can like Kim, I can like Myskina all because it is my right to like them (As I recall, they've also beaten Venus/Serena at one point or another), as I can dislike Maria, and any other player because that too is my right. You responded to one poster who brought up that point particular piece, yet by simply responding in kind, you were using it to deflect from the gist of the thread which was about Maria's words on Serena and thus excusing Maria's words. wait-- you can sum up someone's enitre intent for evetering a thread by one post? it wasn't a means of deflection, it started as a subtle reminder that people shouldn't say things like "my favorite never says anything bad about anyone." i didn't even post the quote until people kept that going.

and so what if i was rationalizing? does it not mean that i can't repsond to someone's post that has a flat out lie in it? if you were even remotely familiar with that column maria was interviewed for you would know that it is fodder for funny trash talk. people can think she was out of line... but please don't come up with something like "the goddess serena has never said a bad thing about anyone... ever."

Why can't I? You seem to think you can tell me who I can like and for what reasons I like them.

and so what if i was rationalizing?

But you deemed rationalizing was going into hypocritical territory as a poster.

does it not mean that i can't repsond to someone's post that has a flat out lie in it?

If you go back and read those sets of posts between you and another poster, you would either admit to calling them a liar or admit to not caring to see their viewpoint is in fact the truth. Which is it? Or are you the only person allowed to rationalize where you see the truth as you deem it be the truth?

if you were even remotely familiar with that column maria was interviewed for you would know that it is fodder for funny trash talk. people can think she was out of line... but please don't come up with something like "the goddess serena has never said a bad thing about anyone... ever."

More rationalizing, perhaps excusing... You'll never hear goddess this or goddess that come from me but then again you assume quite a bit. Treat posters as individuals instead of lumping and generalizing and all should be good. People in that Maria thread made their viewpoints more than clear, yet you seem to cling to only one that has a Serena slant and that's too bad.

I have to say I understand Patty. Probably I would also got irritated hearing "allez" or whatever after my mistakes.
I mean you hit a winner or a great shot then you shout "come on " or "allez" it`s ok :)

but after opponents mistakes - it`s just so plain and a bit pathetic in my opinion.

Like a moment ago Ivanovic missed a 100% smatch and Henin shouted "allez"

Don'tcha think that Justine's voice in general is ok, maybe even nice, but the way she screeches Allez makes you cringe? Its like theres a sheep or a goat being squashed to death and thats the only noise it can muster.

So I can definately see why Patty was annoyed. However, if Justine made that noise everytime I made a mistake, I'd make sure that I wouldn't make any more mistakes so I didn't have to hear it again lol.

Patty is the best! She is certainly a colorful person.

As for Justine....i mean i guess this helps her game. Maybe she should yell "ALLEZ" when her opponent throws up the service toss. Thats gotta be good for a couple of extra points during a tight match...(or one where you are winning 6-1, 3-0)

Maybe the linespeople should yell "ALLEZ" instead of "OUT" when her opponent hits the ball out.

I think Justine didn't fully take advantage of her opportunities to yell "ALLEZ" two weeks ago.....when davenport retired in the third set........that would have been nice.

we will see if she has it all sorted out by the french open..........ALLEZ!!!!!!!!!

i think it's fine for Justine to shout 'allez' if she hits a winner but not on an oppenents error, its really bad sportsmanship and not really very nice behaviour. Was hilarious when Patty took the piss out of Justine though and shouted allez...classic patty. Justine did it again today against Ivanovic i just don't think its fair to the other player, and it makes her look bad and she'll gain a lot of critics for doing it....i mean whatever works for the player but to shout allez on an opponents mistake is very low.

Machu it's best not to entertain these people. This topic has nothing to do with the Williams sisters or their fans. This is about Patty and Justine and some posters like to deflect out of ignorance. The behaviour is very immature and shows how some people obsess over the sisters and their fans.

No:p She lost the match.

Harkleroad did it a few years back as well. When Maria was shrieking point after point, Ashley eventually threw down her racket and shouted out "LOUDER!" When Maria first came on tour a few years back, she was REALLY excessive about it. In the juniors it was even worse. I remember watching a match being played on Court 1 at Wimbledon and you could fucking hear her grunting all the way inside the stadium from an outside court. It was ridiculous...

omg i always miss these controversial things that patty is involved in.

i would love to be the objective fan who criticizes my fan when i think they have behaved badly but both justine and conchita are 2 players i have always found extremely annoying so these comments only endear patty to me more.

i have to say though that i find it so funny how patty seems to have been this character on tour that can get away with being speaking her mind these days and have people say they love it about her when a lot of other players would be called a bitch (although patty was by most people for a while).

i watched a couple of games of that match and besides wanting to turn it off because patty was playing shit and getting smashed i have to say that i was so quickly reminded of why i have never been able to like justine.

she is so the male coria (they are both sponsored by adidas as well).

quite amusing. And I think it's great- somebody's gotta

Justine was even worse today against Sveta, the best example of it was 3-2 in the third it was 15-0 and sveta made an error to make it 15-15 and justine shouted "allez" the point was totally insignificant and meaningless in the match, i just don't get it. yeah, and wouldnt you know it, there is never ANY mention on the website about how Rainer managed to steal 500,000 dollars from the phone company. Don't you think all of Rainer's fans out there in cyberspace would like to know how he did it? I mean, i know other people have stolen more, but still, 500 grand is a good start. If schnyder.ch started posting lessons about ways to rip off the government, they would generate a LOT of web traffic and this would certainly increase Patty's appeal to the big corporate sponsors like Whirlpool.
