According to a source close to troubled diva Whitney Houston, it was her mom, gospel singer Cissy Houston, who petitioned a Georgia court to order her famous daughter to seek help in a rehab facility in March, PEOPLE has learned.

Whitney eventually entered the Crossroads treatment center (founded by musician Eric Clapton) in Antigua, West Indies, leaving in late April after almost a month.

Good for Cissy! I think she should've inteverned publicly awhile ago because it doesn't seem like Whitney has taken any of her problems of recent years that seriously.

I hope it all works out, but I wonder whether Whitney will be committed to getting well if she was "forced" to go.

That's why I worry about. I think she should be committed to a facility where she's under 24 hour supervision (yes yawl is THAT serious). She should stay there at least 6 months.

well if she goes back home to that same environment with Bobby who's an addict too, nothing will have changed and she will be using again in a week or two.
