I'm curious to get your views and opinions on which gaming system you feel is best and/or best in what aspets. I'll start, here's mine:

Graphics (or graphical capabilities)
CG, XBox, PS2

Versatility (other usages such as: online gaming, CD, DVD, etc...)
Xbox, PS2, GC

Immediate Multiplayer (needs no extra hook-ups)
GC, XBox, PS2 (GC simply has more fun four player games than XBox)

Variety (games for all people and/or all ages)
GC, PS2, Xbox

Quantity (amount of games)
PS2, Xbox, GC

Quality (your moneys worth for games)
GC, Xbox, PS2

Controllers
PS2, GC, Xbox (XBoxs too big & bulky IMO)

P.S. IMO sound does not apply being that it basically depends on what you have the console hooked up to.

My Verdict: Being that I already have a PC for online gaming, Ill have to go with the GC as being the best console overall.

it really depends on what you need. but i will say that i agree with your description/chart.

i would like to add:

Innovation:
GC, PS2, XBOX

Durability of the physical machine:
GC, XBOX, PS2

i have a gamecube and i love it.

IMO GC has the best quality games (# for #). Plus GC has the best variety of great games for all types of people. For instance, if you're into blood and sinister gaming, there's the Resident Evil series. If you're into adventure games, there's the Mario and Donkey Kong series. If you're into action RPG's, there's the Zelda series. If you're into action adventure there's the Metroid series. If you're into party games there's the Mario Party's and many others.

IMO PS2 does have the best and largest amount of sports games. And I also believe that XBox has the best shooters, but I also feel that XBox's label for "great" games is a tad overrated. Being that when you really think about it, there's Halo, Halo2, and maybe a few others.

GC :bounce:

i have a cube and xbox

i prefer the xbox cos it gets all the great pc ports. if you are in to first peron shooters and violent games there isno better. plus its power far surpasses the other systems

second fave is the cube. the resident evil series is great but metroid prime OWNZ = best.game.ever. too bad it has too few titles and doesnt cater well to older gamers like me :(. graphically its nearly as good as xbox and ps2 sucks in terms of power

The GC wins hands down for me...its just so sad that in the world as a whole it trials in third...

Some stores in Britian have selling a brand new Gamecube, with a copy or Donkey Konga, with bongos, an extra gamepad and a memory card for 50-60...

Unbelieveable value, but it struggles to sell...

My fave Gamcube titles...Resident Evil 4 is truly amazing and glorious, Ive completed it, but unusually for such a game, Im playing though it again as its such a joy to play...

Animal Crossing is glorious...so much to it, never neding greatness!

Super Monkey Ball...classic

The Mario Party games...great fun

Mario Kart in mulitplayer is a great laugh...

Harvest Moon is very involving...

Donkey Konga good fun...

Gladius is a hidden gem...

I love my Gamecube! Im delighted the Revolution will be backwardly compatible, and hopefully will be machine of choice in the next-gen...

I have all three and I love eaches own aspects...

GC-You have to love Nintendo's Gamecube because you have such great titles as the whole Zelda line :hearts:, Animal Crossing is definitely ADDICTIN', and Harvest Moon is one of my all time favorites as well :D!

PS2- my first console of the three consoles I love it for sports games and I have my Vice City series on PS2, I like PS2 controllers because you can get the extentions if you don't want to by a wireless controller (and waste batteries)

Xbox- my last console of the three, I love the graphics and gameplay of Halo and Halo 2 and I really want Live so bad...I don't have a whole lot of games for it though...

Each system has it's pros and cons-- I love the size of the GameCube, I like the size of PS2 controllers the best, and I love the fact that you don't have to have memory cards for Xbox (even though it slows your system down a lot if you have a lot of stuff saved up there)

I have wireless controller for my PS 2 but with batteries. What extensions do you mean? :shrug:Yeah both my brothers have wireless controllers...but I just use the extensions...

um...my extension things are just blue cords/cable things that have two ends...one that plugs into your system and one that plugs into the end of the controller (that would normally plug into your system)

let me see if I can find a picture for you to clarify more because I fear that my description will only confuse you more:p

I agree with your post. Actually your post pretty much mirrors a combination of 2 of my previous post from this thread, only in a different format.

Anyways that last sentence reminds me of another thing that can get pretty tedious regarding the XBox and especially the PS2. Thoughs damn load times! Thay can simply get rediculous at times. Generally GC loads MUCH faster.

For me: "multiplayer + many fun multiplayer games + Quality over quantity + Resident Evil series + many other Great Series = The Best Baby! GameCube :bounce:

Well my first ever game was ICO for PS 2. I saw an add in a magazine for that game and bought only therefore the console  And I was impressed and still love that one. I play WTA tour tennis (pal version) on PS 2, then have Resident Evil Code Veronica and the 1st RE(the one made for PS1), other games I have for PS2 are: Drakan: The Ancient Gates (awesome to fly dragons and fight with them), Devil May Cry (awesome), Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time, Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, Primal, Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare, Silent Hill 2+3, Rune Wiking Warlord, Project Zero, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, GTA 3 and that's about it :) Haven't played all yet :o

For X-Box I have only Top Spin, FILA World Tennis and Syberia 2. Haven't played the latter one yet. :)

What games do you have? :wavey:

I've never played a real Resident Evil game...I've played a demo before I believe..but never the whole game...ain't there a movie called Resident Evil or something..because I could have sworn I've seen it if so..maybe I'm confused

I love the whole Zelda Four Swords Adventure thing were you can play with four people...Throwing people off the cliffs is fun..:p

Xbox- Halo, Halo 2, a paintball game (can't remember the title), Mercenaries-Playground of Destruction, NFL street....I feel like I'm missing one...but I really don't have a whole lot of games for Xbox

Gamecube-Luigi's mansion, Harvest moon, Zelda games-Wind Waker & four swords adventures & the collectors edition disc, animal crossin, and Super Smash Brothers Melee...I've played Super Monkey ball and Mario Kart before though...

I only have the GC now, and well...the N64. But back to the Cube. I have Knockout Kings 2003, Mario Sushine, Mistic Heros (it's AWESOME!, especially in multplayer mode), Death Jam Vendetta, TMNT, Mario Party 4, RE (Remake), RE 0, and I want RE 4 but I'm in Iraq at this time, so it'll just have to wait. I'd also like to have DragonBall Z: Sagas (yeah, go figure as if you couldn't tell by my Avatar ;)), though I may just simply rent it when I return (God willing).

I already have a GameCube and it is my favorite. I could have bought any of the systems but Nintendo will always have the games I must play. If I had to choose from PS2 and Xbox as my second console I would get the PS2. I am waiting for a price drop and I will be picking it up. There are so many games I want to play on that system. I still don't get the GC is for kids comment. I think one hater said it once and every follower just continues to say it. I don't play any of the kiddy games on GC and I sure as hell wouldn't play the ones they have for the Xbox or PS2. My favorite games on the Cube that I own.

Eww, GC. I have all three, and XBox is HANDS DOWN my favorite. GameCube is only salvagable for Eternal Darkness and Mario Tennis. The graphics are nice, but too goofy IMO, just like the games. I found I grew out of N64 and GC once I became 15, they have no good Shooter's, sports, or Adventure games that I enjoy. GC definately has better multiplayer mini-games (Mario Party!), but nothing beats System Linked Halo 2 and Ultimate Championship 2.
