So Wilson claims she's using the ncode nTour racket. I have read several comments that say her actual racket is Wilson 6.2 or ProStaff, whatever. Can any of you validate if she's using the real thing, or is it just a paintjob?

Wilson nCode nTour Racquets
Midplus and Oversize racquets offering some nice power, maneuverability and stability with an even balanced feel. 95 and 105 sq, inch respective headsizes, 27.25 lengths and 16/20 string patterns. The current racquet of Justine Henin-Hardenne and Lindsay Davenport. Price: $179.99,

According to tenniswarehouse.com, Lindsay is using the nCode, but her racket doesn't look like this one!

i think its a paint job i read somewhere that federer uses a paint job as well. and andy roddick is the only player with babolat that actually uses the raquet he endorses.

I've read in a couple of places that pro's don't always use the raquets their sponsors say they're using. The companies want to push the latest models, but players don't like to switch - so the tours do a good trade in spray paint ;)

I've also heard that Roddick and Sharapova are about the only tour players who use the actual racket model they endorse.

I heard just Roddick and maybe Clijsters.

Sharapova not.

From what I heard practically all the top Wilson users aren't really using what Wilson wants us to believe they're using.

They discuss this sort of thing to death elsewhere though....like maybe on the tennis warehouse message boards.

Prince Turbo Shark has HxV 19x16 string.
Her current racket is 20x16.
I've counted it myself :)

Difficult to tell from the pictures.
Her 'old' racket HTour and 'new' nTour are physically identical, the difference maybe only in its material.

Funny. I found a thread about it:

All speculation, really.

Most raquets are tuned anyway according to the player´s needs (weight, etc.). They are nothing like the ones you can buy although it has the same name.

Wilson Leach 9" oversize  You can blame her if she wants to stay at home

Lindsay Davenport is using a racquet that she has played with for a very long time. Her nTour is just a paintjob.

Paintjobs are actually very common in tennis. Serena, Venus, Lindsay, Roger, and Justine are just a few players who use paintjobs from Wilson. Lleyton Hewitt uses a paintjob. Sharapova does aswell.

Conchita Martínez has been using the same racket since 1995 ;)

Martina Navratilova did it as well...she actually starting using painted-over Dunlops when Steffi began to take over the tour. (Steffi used Dunlop for many years in her career).

federer does not use a paintjob it is a heavily customized ntour which has a smaller racquet face. look at his old sampras racquet and his current one and it is clear that it's not the one he used most of his career.

Almost all players that play with Wilson, Head etc. use paintjobs. Babolat players tend to use the racquet that they are actually endorsing except Nadal who uses a paintjob. Roger, Lindsay, Justine, Venus, Serena, Schnyder etc are all using paintjobs.

That is true ;)
I believe Maria has been using the same racquet since at least 2003 which is a modified Prince Triple Threat Hornet...she had it painted as the More Attack for the 1st half of last year and then got it repainted to the Turbo Shark after Wimbledon

I think it's pretty hard for Babolat players to use a paintjob since most of their racquets have a distinct look to them. The only racquets I can think of that look alike are the Pure Control and the Pure Storm. The throat of the aeropro drive that Nadal uses is something you can't really paint.

I don't see why companies can't put out the actual racquet and call them the "Federer racquet" or the "Serena racquet" and then just change the paint job every 2-3 years.

I think Serena really uses the Wilson N-Code. It's lighter than the old
sticks, and as we have see this season, she can't seem to get a good
feel for it. And this pretty much sums up why everyone else does
paint jobs- the new, new sticks are too light.

Hmm, I deifnitely think that the players who use Babolat really use the real product, since there's not much choice from Babolat anyway. Looks like PureDrive is the best one out there (I have one myself).

I think Wilson and Yonex users use paint jobs..I heard some of the players liked the old models better.

But, I think Venus has an nCode. I kept looking at it during Fed Cup and it sort of looked like the real thing...Same with Serena. She looks like she uses the real thing.

I'm not sure about all the Yonex players, but Lleyton Hewitt still uses the old rd ti model, and that's painted like an RDX 500
