Dementieva's been in decline? I dont think so. She's had solid, expected results this year

Ever since she was up 5-1 and lost to Justine at the Olympic Games she seems to have lost all confidence in herself. Oh well....

Is it me or has Svetlana Kuznetsova been a phantom this year?

Atleast Vera's won a title. Although she's not really doing all that much better than either Sveta or Anastasia.
It's been Masha and Elena that's carrying the Russian tennis torch this year.

I agree, it was a sad thing and she lost confidence. Although she temporarily returned to great form at the Kremlin Cup last year!

Get it together girl!

they're all nuts. Bepa played like a top 5 player at times last year and worked so hard to get to the YEC and then she seems to have imploded mentally. Nastya looked to be set for a dynamite year after Hopman Cup but now can't win two matches in a row and is apparently playing with an injury. Elena D. shows up at HK with an improved serve and takes down the competition but when the real season starts, she goes back to her old serve and her old ups and downs. Sveta hasn't played consistently well in a tournament since she lost to Serena in Beijing last year.

I'd hoped that was over after she won Moscow, started to beat Davenport and won the Fed Cup in the autumn swing...but I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the factors in her slump.

I think those false drug allegations in Australia affected her more than she said at the time.

Even with the title, Bepa's behind Nastya in the Race :tape: And look at the people she's lost to this year: Zuluaga, Douchevina, Linetskaya, Llagostera Vives, Razzano, Benesova :scared: Only Zuluaga was in the top 50 when she beat Bepa.

sure it has been hard for her, but then, she won some good matches : moscow, fedcup, ... but olympic was a dream for her & it becomes a nightmare ,
she must wait 4 years if she wants it ! she's just disappointed !

her best win of the year was probably over golovin in antwerp second round

but golovin wasn't top 20 then

She meet only one top 10 player in 4 months and took it to a close 3 sets.
Several other players were just above their normal gameplay, HC was a total mess (and not because of her). You could say she is unlucky so far, but she has no real excuses (not even her shoulder problem). RG is coming. She better be ready :fiery:

Nastya is feeling the pressure of being a Slam winner. Hope she gets out of her slump soon.

Anastasia is #6 in the world, and holds a major.
She's been in slumps before. And she always has ups and downs.

Every player slumps at some point or another. Myskina needs to get out of it....whatever it takes. she's going to need super game to defend FO......everyone's hungry for that title.Hope her shoulder is better for Berlin and Rome.
