hi guys!

I was having some major problems with my adobe reader and it wouldn't save anything, so i decided to uninstall reader altogether and re-install it to see if that fixed the problem...however, i can't seem to re-install it now :(

Everytime i go to download adobe reader 7.0, it spends 30 mins downloading and then installs and at the end of the install process it tells me:

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel."

So i went to the folder options and looked at the File Types tab option...and there isn't a pdf extension at all on my computer - is that the problem? Do i have to create one? And if so, how?

Thanks to anyone who can help me! This is really pissing me off, cause i use adobe everyday pretty much so it really stuffs me around! ARGH!!!!! :fiery:

What do you mean with 'at the end of the install process'? Is the error message still part of the installation, or are you trying to open a file?

No idea, delete everything related to the programme and install it again, maybe another version to see if it works, I have never had this problem, so I can't help, sorry

I mean, just after it's finished installing...like when the bar gets to 100% complete it just freezes for a second and then the message comes up.

i'd just delete everything associated with the program and start over

sorry that's happening to you. it happened to me a while back

Have you try this one?

Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Click 'Change' for reinstall

i think i need more details,

i mean from what i understand, unless you have acrobat pro you cant edit anything.

also what is your os, and what system updates do you have on your os?

ok guys, don't worry...i've got it all working again now....have no idea why it worked now and not other times (maybe it's cause i downloaded the reader from a different site?), but all is good now.

thanks for ur help anyway,

most probably a corrupted install file.
