Well, she was 17-0 (including juniors and ITF) since being trained with Carlos Rodriguez, and lost her very first final at Wimbledon in 2001, in a third setter with the Wimbledon reigning queen Venus Williams...

So I guess there's something about Justine and the finals! ;)

:bounce: I think she just gains so much confidence from winning all of those matches that she feels like she can win the final, and it's all belief :)

What about:
2003 Rosmalen: lost to Clijsters

that final Justine retired due to injury at her left wrist ....

You mean, when Justine was leading by a set to love, and had to retire because of a hand injury? :tape:

Impressive, normal for a #1 at the top of their game.

They are ruthless and the reason I didn't include that specific incident is because Justine was up a set and although anything can happen in a tennis match, I really didn't take that match as a loss. I took it as a retirement. I really didn't think Justine was going to lose that match, because other than that match, Justine has only lost to Kim once (at Filderstadt) in like 7 matches.

also note that all lost finals were tier II or lower.

In the Tier I or gs events, she has won the last 11 finals.
