The Belgians have played 4 tournaments this year and lost only 1 tournament.

Antwerp - Kim loses in the QF
Indian Wells - Kim wins over Lindsay
Miami - Justine loses in the QF, but Kim wins over Sharapova
Charleston - Justine wins over both the #1(Lindsay) and #2(Elena) seeds

yay!!!!!! I'm sooo excited they are both back playing! If only the rest of the Russians would step it up and really challenge for titles instead of losing early (yes Vera and Anastasia, I'm talking you both of you), hopefully Venus will find her championship form, and hopefully Jen will come back strong.

It's great that Justine managed to win in only her second tournament back just like Kim did. I'm sure that will give her loads of confidence for the real clay season. :)

Good for them, at least it is not that many Belgians. Like all those Russian girls!

More nations should enter players.

If this Belgian domination is a pattern for the year, I'll lose interest in womens tennis very quickly.

I would be truly excited if there will be a re-match of Justine and Serena, at French Open final! A Justine-Kim final would also be good.

Ho-hum. They have a better offense/defense combination than any player on the tour. IMO their only real rival for the next year or so will be Maria :hearts:, provided Maria's defensive prowess continues its steady improvement.

I lost interest in womens tennis last year !!!
Now, i 've found it back ( since IW !!!)It started at the Australian Open for me, that's when tennis became 'fascinating' again... Between Kim and Serena I don't have too many complaints this season!

So the Belgians win 3 of the first 4 Tier I titles of 05
and
the Americans played each other in the first Slam final of the year...

It should be fun to see how the rest of the season plays out!

Impressive....well,well....after tearing up the tour last year winning big title after big title, the Russians seem to have stagnated now with the return of the Belgians.

Should be a fun year...now, if only Serena could stay healthy and focused on tennis.

let us face it Myskina and Kuznetsova winning a slam last year was a big fluke and only bound to ever happen again with another list of injured players.

This item in itself should really motivate KIm to go all the way this year:

Wanna bet $100 on Kuznetsova not winning another GS in her career?

And Maria wins the 1st!

Not to mention that girl who won the biggest tournament so far this year, but of course those tourneys pale in comparison.
