When I watch her post-match interviews, I noticed her Russian accent is not as strong as when she was on the Jay Leno show after she won 2004 Wimbledon. In fact I was surprised because she talks almost as fluently in English as my friends in school. Does anyone else notice that?

She has never had a strong Russian accent. She's lived here since 7 or 9 (can't remember.) Kids that age can learn a language without an accent. It is when you turn like 11 or 12 that speaking a language without the accent of your mother tongue becomes difficult.
