Lena all the way :rocker2: she's gonna revenge!

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:43 AM
their matches are too hard to predict. dementieva could be on fire and blow patty of the court but i get the sense she is struggling with her serve and patty won their last match in melbourne and destroyed Elena here last year.

basically if Dementieva brings her very top game for the entire match then it will be tough for patty, but if she loses it at any point or plays in a way that allows her to be down 1-4 in the final set to Srebotnik then Patty should win.

CMON Elena!

1-1 on clay

Tati & Dani
Apr 16th, 2005, 02:49 AM
dementieva in 3

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:49 AM
Elena Dementieva  In 3 sets.

She should have won against Patty in Aus Open. :(

Elena impressed me very much against Patty in Sydney. Elena's groundstrokes were awesome. Patty seemed to struggle with how flat Dementieva hits.

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:56 AM
Elena seems to be playing more solidly now than she did in Australia, so i think she will get revenge for AO.

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:59 AM
Patty in 3. Schnyder has also been consistent this season, so she has a chance. I hope she wins in two. Go Patty!

Apr 16th, 2005, 03:15 AM
Doesn't matter for me. Davvy's stupid injury thoroughly messed up the top half of the draw for my FS team, but both Schnyder and Lena are on it.

Apr 16th, 2005, 03:16 AM
of course elena!!
good luck elena!

Apr 16th, 2005, 03:21 AM
Depends. On what Dementieva comes to play tommorrow. Schynder has been very consistent this whole tournament. She's played her game and has yet to have a mental lapse. If the dementieva who played Vives comes to play tommorrow then she wins in straights. If the Dementieva who played Katarina comes to play tommorrow then she loses in three sets.

Apr 16th, 2005, 03:21 AM
Extremely interesting mental match.... Elena has the power to overwhelm Patty, but Patty has the skill to match Elena's power. Whoever wins the first set will win the match. I expect a straight setter. - I hope Patty gets it!!!!

Apr 16th, 2005, 03:22 AM
Demented def Demented 6-4 6-4 :eek::p

Demented def Demented 6-4 6-4 :eek::p

That sounds about right!!! ;) :wavey:

I hope Patty ends up on top anyways!!!!

Add to which they both have wicked forehands and are two of the fastest and fittest players out there...

Not sure about 2 sets though - they are on their good days two of the toughest fighters on the tour when fighting for a second set to take it to a third.

Apr 16th, 2005, 03:45 AM
Hmmm,so head
to head it's 4 Patty's and
1,2,3 Elena's

Apr 16th, 2005, 04:26 AM
Elena in 3 sets!

Apr 16th, 2005, 04:28 AM
patyy and dementivea are to of the most unpredictable players of all times, one day they are beating very good players, the next they are losing to whoever attempts to put the ball over the net.
This could go either way!

other quarterfinal action, second-seeded Elena Dementieva earned her spot in the semis with a hard-fought three-set victory over Katarina Srebotnik.

"I think that was the most difficult condition that I have ever played, and it was a great fight for both of us," Dementieva said. "With all this cold weather and wind, I was like, 'Is it a tournament or is it the "Survivor" show because you really had to survive on the court today."

This will be Dementieva’s third semifinal of 2005, having reached the final four at Sydney and Indian Wells. She's looking for her first final this year but has to get by crafty left-hander Patty Schnyder, who advanced to her fourth Family Circle Cup semifinal with a 63 62 win over another teenaged up-and-comer, 15-year-old Nicole Vaidisova.

On facing Schnyder, Dementieva said, "I think she's the toughest player on the clay courts. She's so unpredictable, and it's very difficult because she has a great feeling here with all the slice and drop shots that she can make. But I'm waiting for this match because last time we played, I lost. I had a great opportunity in the second (set) during the Australian Open (in January). So I would love to take revenge."

Unbeknownst to Dementieva, Schnyder also looks forward to Saturday's semifinal clash.

"I love playing (Dementieva)," she said. "We had some great matches already this year, a really unbelievable good match at the Australian Open. It was a big fight and she's a great fighter. You really have to wear her down from the baseline, and I guess I'm ready...let's see tomorrow."

hmm, I hope and think Patty will win :)

Apr 16th, 2005, 07:01 AM
I think Lena will take this one. She is out for revenge and get it. Will probably go 3 sets though.

Apr 16th, 2005, 07:03 AM
Elena in two i must say, But i wouldnt be surprised at all if Patty won.

Apr 16th, 2005, 07:06 AM
Patty and Elena seem to have a really healthy respect for each other.

Apr 16th, 2005, 08:44 AM
It'll be a tough match.... Elena in three. She'll be extra motivated considering the Aus Open loss

Apr 16th, 2005, 08:56 AM
I'm pretty sure that Elena wins if she makes less than 17 doublefaults :)

Apr 16th, 2005, 09:34 AM
difficult match for Lena, but i see her taking some revenge on Patty, for the loss in Sydney earlier this year ;)

Apr 16th, 2005, 09:37 AM
I knew you will win Patty!
Good luck in the semis, even of I like Lena too!

I'd love to see Patty vs Justine! :hearts:

I know this is a dream final for quite a few Justine fans! ;)

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:39 PM
I think Patty is the hands down favourite, simply because of the surface.

I have no doubt Elena can beat Patty, and I hope she will, but it will depend on her serve and how she uses her BH to manouvre Patty around.

They both certainly have a great rivalry and that AO match was awesome. The speed of the court here is apparently similar to that of a slow hardcourt, so I hope Elena can use that to her advantage.

She is certainly after revenge :)

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:43 PM
I'll have an orgasm if it's a Patty vs. Justine final

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:48 PM
I think Elena will win in 3

Apr 16th, 2005, 02:51 PM
Patty is playing well. Elena is playing well.

Tough three set match expected.

Patty will lead but I think Elena will fight right back to take the match

Apr 16th, 2005, 04:21 PM
I think this is a big match for Lena. She can close the gap on the top 4, and she will get great confidence going into the red clay season.

Apr 16th, 2005, 06:55 PM
I think Patty will win this in three. They always have good matches, hopefully Patty brings some drama.

Apr 16th, 2005, 07:25 PM
Elena gonna makes it tie

Apr 16th, 2005, 07:58 PM
