Venus's personal life is her trouble on the court it's not forehand, serve or anything else she has man problems. I understand she has a new boyfriend.

So? More sex, less tennis. I don't thinks so. Ask Juju or Ljubicic

Yep Icequeen you are right with your info. I am in fact, Venus' new boyfriend    . I don't know if I can sacrifice our love for each other for the sake of her tennis though, that is asking a bit much

Sorry Knizzle, it wasn't a knew coach but a coach assisting at FCC with Richard.

Judging from the quality of her forehands, the new boyfriend must be Tim Henman.

anyway when Venus was going out with Davide Tomassini back in 2001, he didn't affect her game,in fact Vee won both Wimbledon and US Open that year so I don't see how being in a relationship is affecting her game .

Look what happen to Dokic, Jen, Ashley and a lot more players when they hook up with these guys. I am not saying it is affecting her game..well in a way it is because if you are having problems in a relationship there's no way you can concentrate on your game. What Venus said in diary says a lot read between the lines of her diary where's she talking about someone..(she did not mentioned his name) but from the tone you know it had to be a guy.

I recall seeing Davide in the stands a few weeks ago ( at Amelia Island I think), so if they broke up, it must have been pretty recent.

There is no other coach, that guy was just a hitting partner. He is a coach at a local club and I also saw him hitting with Justine.

I don't think I've ever had a family problem that caused a hitch in the forehand or forced me to hit off the back foot.

what was wrong with that interview  I hope she enters Rome.
She definitely needs to play a red clay event...curious to know what came up that won't allow her to play Europe.

I think she was referring to how sad and torn down venus looks and sounds. Definitely not how we are used to seeing her.

I rarely ever agree with Icequeen but good god Venus does seem to have some personal problems. She was soooo close to breaking down at one point during the interview. I sincerely hope she can sort all that out and come back strong. :)

If I can recall Venus is still with Davide, they may be having some problems though, because he was with her at Amelia Island. I saw him stand up for her cheering her on during her match with Lindsey. He had on a white collard shirt, black slacks and those black sunglasses he always wears.

I just watched the interview, and it was one of the most eerie interviews I've seen from Venus. Very disturbing. I'm really curious to know what the "long story" is and why it's keep her from playing before the French Open. And I want to know why she "definitely" isn't playing Berlin. My girls are really starting to worry me. First Serena and her frantic tournaments in Miami and Amelia, getting injured...and then having conflicting stories on whether or not she'd play Fed Cup. Then a disconsolate Venus skipping the Euro clay season.

So then, she is playing Fed Cup and probably Berlin after RG only??????? I really hope she enters Rome.

She looked so sad in that interview, so sad

You know everybody says that some of us make up excuses for Venus, but I think the emotional, toll of the past two and a half years have gotten to her. All of the stuff that has gone on in her life is starting to wear her down. I think the biggest thing is that she never really grieved for her sister who was killed. Serena has stated a couple of times that Venus is the emotional rock of there family, and tries to be level headed for everyone, but I think it is now starting to get to her. And loosing does not help her cause mentally. I really hope she gets herself together. I would rather have her happy and loosing than, winning and not happy at all. I think when Vee finds that inner peace she will start to have a turn around.

Serena has a stalker in Berlin so....I dunno.

I would think she would play Rome as Davide has a house out there...

Exactly!! I wish I hadn't watched that interview. It breaks my heart to see Vee this way-- something is definitely up with her, and until we know exactly what it is I think we should stop judging her.

I mean she is showing more and more flashes of her old self, but then things will go unaccountably wrong. It's very disappointing, and frustrating for a long time fan , but after seeing this video I won't blast her -- I'm also beginning to believe that the slam finals to Serena did more to her than she wants to let on.

My god, I didn't expect to ever see Venus like that in an interview

I thought at the time that her references to having "mentally and physically lost it" were odd, because she never usually reveals her weaknesses to that extent, but was hoping some context had got missed - but she really does look like she's in a bad way, it's very sad to see :(

I'm curious as to what her schedule will be over the next few weeks - she says that this "long story" came up which meant she couldn't play Rome or Berlin, but then she says she's definitely thinking of entering an event. But she rules out Berlin, and she surely won't play Rome-Istanbul-Roland Garros back-to-back.

If this "long story" is the reality TV series though, I will be mad at her again

As I said before I did not think that Venus wanted to do that reality show but broke down and did it for Serena. That's why I posted that Interview that's the sadest I have ever seen her and she could not wait to get up out of that chair and leave the room. I hope she get some help for whatever is bothering her.

Yeah, there's quite a difference between reading some quotes in an article and watching the actual interview. :o
But you can see that Venus and Serena are siblings as they both laugh when they rather feel like crying. :o

This actually makes sense if you think about it. Serena likes attention, she doesn't mind cameras following her, doesn't turn down people for autographs, etc; But Venus is the totaly opposite. She doesn't like people in her business, and is a very private person.

To be honest with you it's not venus' game that's in the toilet it's her personal life and therefore she cannot concentrate on tennis. It's not the forehand or 1st or 2nd serve not even physical it's all mental and until she strighten that aspect of her life she will keep losing. Venus' game has improve a great deal and her 2nd serves are in the 90's she use to make 10-15 double faults in a match and that is not happening anymore so we know she has worked on her game now all she needs to do is to get rid of the man problems and everything will be back to normal for her.

I just watched the interview. I feel so bad right now
I agree with GoDom, like Serena, Venus also seems to 'laugh' when she feels miserable.
It a trait in our family too. I think it's a form of 'sublimation'

But what is she going on about?
When she said no Europe, I thought it maybe had to do with Davide (who's Italian)
and then she says definetly not berlin (is it because of the serena stalker?)

So strange the interview.
You know, about the 'not grieving and trying to stay strong', that could be a real plausible explanation, but it's all so weird. Maybe she needs some time totally out of the spotlights, I mean, a realityshow is nice too, but is it coming at a good time? Venus has to 'act natural' but surely she has issues she want to keep to herself.
I'm worried. I hope she really finds someone to help her!!

Why is Venus so sad?!?? I hate seeing her like this... :sad:After seeing the video, I think she is just stressed out over a number of things...not necessarily man problems. after all, she's only human with issues most of us have to deal with in everyday life...job, family, friends, relationships, spouses, finances, schedules, school, and the list goes on. Because she is a tennis player and business woman, with employees, advisors, trainers, coaches, managers, agents, sponsors.......the list goes on and on.... I can understand the emotions, especially after a loss....something is def bothering her. Hope she rectifies it.

When ANYONE who claims Venus has man problems, and Serena put a gun to her head and forced her to do the reality show have a personal conversation with Venus let me know. Otherwise, it's nothing but speculation because for all anyone knows it could be ANYTHING.

Considering Venus just lost a match she could of won I am not suprised about the interview. Losses are hard to deal with even if we see Venus go off the court smiling it's still got to be a bad feeling.

Anyways, I hope Venus works on consistency and her technique because that's what is causing her to lose these matches. If Vee would focus on these two areas she would dominate, but that's a decision she must make.

hmmmm.....i hope she is ok. but you can tell somthing is wrong. the whole 'something suddanly came up' thing made me think straight away...she is pregnant...but i doubt it. the dream team fed cup looks abit shakey now...lindsay injured, seren injured..venus having issues...its all down to corina..hope they all recover in time
