Hi Players! :wavey:

Welcome to “The Surviving Link”, the game that requires the finesse of “Survivor” and the quickness of “The Weakest Link”. ;)

Ultimately, “The Surviving Link” is a chat thread with a purpose: you want to be the last poster standing.

WTAWorld members will be reading all your posts on “The Surviving Link” game thread and based on your replies, they will decide your fate.

Starting today and running until the last day of the game (the 17th of May; the winner be announced on Friday, the 20th of May), all 9 of you will be interacting with each other. The discussion will stem from the following:

• Topics that I initiate
• Topics that you and your fellow players initiate
• Topics that the observing board members initiate [Note: Posters will be polled and I will randomly choose one of their suggestions for a topic]

There will be tasks as well where you will demonstrate to the observing posters your abilities as a decision maker and communicator (you will have to explain your execution of the task).

There will be 7 “rounds” (the playing of the game followed by voting, then elimination).

Each “round” will last 3 days. At the end of the 3rd day, voting will commence (posters will PM me the name of the person they want eliminated). Voting will be open for 24 hours my time (Pacific Daylight).

The first person ousted from the game will be announced on Tuesday, the 19th of April. In its own thread entitled “The Surviving Link: First Round Elimination”, I will announce the name of the game’s first casualty. This player must stop posting on the game thread immediately.

Note: Immunity will be available to one player each “round”. During some “rounds”, you can win immunity on your own; in other “rounds” you can receive immunity from either the WTAWorld posters (via a poll) or from me.

[Stay tuned for further instructions on beginning “The Surviving Link” on my next post]

Now to the game…

To begin the First Round, you have two tasks:

TASK1: “You Made Your Bed”

You were told in a pre-game PM from me to post a WTAWorld smiley.

• IN THE ORDER OF WHOSE SMILEY WAS POSTED FIRST, choose 1 bed from the photos of 9 beds shown below.

• Copy and paste that bed, then post it claiming it as your bed.

• That bed is no longer available.

• The player who was SECOND TO POST A SMILEY chooses their bed.

• That bed is now no longer available.

• CONTINUE ON (in order of smiley posting) until all 9 of you has a bed.

• After claiming your bed, please post an explanation on why you chose that particular bed.

TASK2: “It’s All About You”

Introduce yourself. You can either use your real first name or an alias first name. [Note: I would prefer that you referred to each as, for example, Joshua, as opposed to VSFan1.]

After doing so, answer these 3 questions:

Q1: What is the 1 thing that most people usually like about you? Share 2 “colourful” situations (be detailed, please) where someone told you that they liked this “1 thing” about you.

Q2: What 1 person, who lives with you OR lives in your neighbourhood, would you want the other “The Surviving Link” players to meet? Please specify why you chose this person and what this person means to you.

Q3: You have been granted a wish. For the rest of your life, you would NOT have to do one of the following ever again. Which one would you choose and why?

• Eat
• Sleep
• Bathe
• Defecate
• Brush your teeth

Please complete both tasks. Thank you.

You are encouraged to comment on your fellow players’ answers to Task1 and Task2.

Chat with you tomorrow!

Chris :)

I choose bed #8. I choose this one because out of all the beds only two of them really spoke to me. This one won out, because it has just very sleak lines, it's very crisp, and clean while also being very modern. I feel my style (in clothing and in personality) is definitley crisp and clean, I enjoy smooth lines and really professional texture. I felt this bed really blended everything that I enjoy and am in life, and in style. I also really like the the combination of the very white plain walls with a very distinct bedding. I think in life I have a very distinct personality, and this bed really reflects who I am.

Hello everyone! My name is Jamie, I'm 18 and I'm from Massachusetts. I am currently working 3 jobs, one as an assistant to a talent agency in boston, one as a bank teller (got to pay the bills some how!), and one in an amusement park controlling the cash flow within my stands. I have graduated high school, and was at University for a semester, before I decided to take a break from it all.

I've been posting on these boards forever it seems, well before WTAWORLD, I was on the original Sanex board, and a board before that where the color scheme was black with neon green tennis balls! ;)

Now on to the questions:

For the first question, I think generally people really like my honesty. When I say honesty I don't mean that I am tactless and am a real bitch all the time (but we all have our moments ;)), I really try to not contrive my personality to fit the people around me, I try to stay true to who I am, and honesty is really the main part. Being a theater major and being surronded by a bunch of other performers it's really easy to get yourself into a mode where you just compliment all of your friends, because you don't want them to feel bad or hurt their feelings.

I have aspirations of being a producer, agent, or talent manager. I quickly learned that honesty is what you need, if you're spoon fed everything and pampered, but still suck and no one tells you, you're in for a rude awakening. I try to be that awakening, without being so rude.

I remember distincly one time my friend Dany complimented me on this. Growing up, I was never given the chance to really excel in performing. My parents never really supported my theater endeavours, so I never was able to take voice or acting lessons. In my senior year I was still trying to absorb everything, and try to learn as much as I could about my craft.

My best friend at the time, OliviA started taking lessons at this studio in the area. This I can say is the hub of theater talent in the area that I'm from. Everyone she did lessons with, performed with, were so talented. Really the cream of the crop in my area.

In months time I became really great friends with everyone, and soon it was time for college audition time. Out of the blue one of OliviA's mates (who is now one of my best mates) called me up to go over his house one day. I had no idea, you know what was going on, but I went anyway. Dany was practicing his audition song, and wanted MY help. Out of all the people he performed with, proven singers and such, he called me.

I thought this was odd at first, because I knew I didn't know as much, but I was still learning, and I did have a grasp of general knowledge on the subject. The thing with Dany was he's not really that great. His voice is very nasaly, and he has major pitch problems. NONE OF OUR FRIENDS WOULD TELL HIM THAT. He called me, because he knew that I would tell him exactly where his faults were, and I wouldn't be afraid to say it. I would end up helping him out for the rest of his performances until he went to university.

I know it seems sort of small, and silly but to me, who at the time I was going through a lot of confidence issues hanging out with such talented people, it really made my day, and made me beleive in what I was saying. I wasn't sure if I was going overboard over the whole honesty thing, but it proved to me that I could do this, and I'm doing it right.

---

Another time I was complimented was actually just a recent occurance. My friend Ashley is currently recording some demos at a studio near our house. We hadn't talked for quite some time, but she asked me if I wanted to go with her as she recorded her first song.

I thought this was odd because she was just a vocal major, and knew so many great people vocally, that she asked me to come. I thought she just wanted me their because we had known each other for a long time and she just wanted moral support.

On the ride home as we were discussing a song she wrote for her boyfriend, and she told me exactly why she chose me. She told me that she knew that I wouldn't be afraid to tell her what I thought, and that she wanted to make sure that I had someone like that with her. Vocally she thought she could fix everything that happened, bcause she has a really good ear, and Cory who is the producer can fix anything on the boards. She needed someone to be there for lyrical content, to make sure things weren't too cheesy and that it sounded good.

She trusted me, with these demos (studio time costs SO MUCH MONEY), and I felt really great about it.

I know that both of the examples I used reflect my aspirations in career and theater stuff, but at this point in my life it's really the most important part right now. My honestly reflects alot in my real life with people asking me for advice all the time on relationships, where I've never actually been in a relationship before...

I think I'll save that for later though becuase that opens up a whole new convorsation into my life! :)

As for the second question, I think I would choose my mom. I shamefully will admit that I am a lot like my mother, and I get alot of the negative aspects of my personality from her. My short temper, my sometimes abrasive personality (although usually I'm not abrasive, but I have my times where I just am a total bitch), and anytime I flip out, I really do get it from her. None of my friends in real life have met her, and I rarely talk about my family with them. I just think if anyone met her, well actually if someone was a fly on the wall and just saw our everyday interaction, a lot of things would make sense and the keys to my personality probably lie within her.

As for the last question, I think I would choose sleep. I feel like if I didn't have to sleep I could accomplish so much. Whether it's a project or just a night on the town, I think it would be the best. I really don't like to sleep too much anyway, I just feel I am so busy, and have so much to do that wasting it on sleeping is just really sad. With all the hours I would gain from not sleeping I feel I could have a much more fufilling life.

Those are my answers for now, I've really typed a lot! I can't wait to see everyone's responses!

I chose bed 3 because it has a somewhat modern and contemporary look with a bit of a spacious bedroom and a great view. Plus the colors are kind of plain and simple - which I like.

Hi everyone - my name is Joshua and I am 26 years old from South Carolina. I currently attend Clemson University where I am a junior (about to be senior) in Elementary Education. In one more year, I will be obtaining my first teaching job :bounce:

Q1: What is the 1 thing that most people usually like about you? Share 2 “colourful” situations (be detailed, please) where someone told you that they liked this “1 thing” about you.

The thing people most like about me is that I am always willing to listen. When I have conversations with other people, we rarely talk about myself and it's usually about them. I don't mind it at all either, because I don't really care to talk about my problems with others. I internalize them and deal with them myself. But, I am more than happy to have an hour long conversation with someone about their life and for them to accept my advice is very flattering. I think in a previous lifetime I was a psychatrist ;)

Q2: What 1 person, who lives with you OR lives in your neighbourhood, would you want the other “The Surviving Link” players to meet? Please specify why you chose this person and what this person means to you.

I would want you all to meet my mother. She is my best friend and the sweetest woman on earth. She has loved me more than anybody else ever has and I am so appreciative and thankful for her. Without her, I would be nowhere in my life and she is the reason I am who I am. She has such a positive impact on people and never says anything negative and is always willing to help people out regardless of what situation she is in. She is truly an inspiration!

Q3: You have been granted a wish. For the rest of your life, you would NOT have to do one of the following ever again. Which one would you choose and why?

• Eat
• Sleep
• Bathe
• Defecate
• Brush your teeth

I pick bathing because I shave in the shower and I despise shaving. So, if I never had to shave again (and keep a smooth face) it would be a miracle.

i choose bed no. 2.i like it because its how i would like my own room to be. NEAT. lol!nah, i like it because its feminine and classic and i love the color. some may thing that it lacks the "bright" colors but thats why the flowers are there. it adds a little something to the room. and i love it also because i see a window with 2 plants on the windowsill. and another plus is that lots of decorations can be added to this room without making it look cluttered. i just need to get a nice frilly piece of satin and i can make a canopy. it may not represent me fully in the sense that i'm loud and brash but thats why i chose it. its time for a change.

Well, i'm Veronica Calista Rani and i'm 21. call me Vero or Ronnie or just plain old Veronica. anyway, i'm a final year communications student majoring in Journalism and Mass Communications and i'm a pretty good student. my style of writing is not very suitable for hard news but its perfect for columns and features. i'm willing to try anything at least once, except when it comes to food. the only meat i'm willing to eat is chicken, fish, lamb and beef. everything else is a no-no. some may view it as hypocrisy when i say i'm an animal lover but yet i'm a non-vegetarian but i believe that u have to be in a person's shoes to understand them. i used to be a cheerleader in highschool and it was tough because of the stereotypes. one of my proudest moments in life is that i showed all the haters that i was just as smart when my a-level results came out.(i beat out some of those who were considered smartasses). i plan on studying law once i get my degree. i have 6 dogs and i love them to bits. and i have 2 sisters, one's 3 years older and the other is 19 years younger. i'm well travelled and i've lived in different places for long periods of time. i'm malaysian but currently i'm in australia.

After doing so, answer these 3 questions:

Q1: What is the 1 thing that most people usually like about you? Share 2 “colourful” situations (be detailed, please) where someone told you that they liked this “1 thing” about you.
boring, but one thing people like about me is that i'm able to make them feel at ease really quickly.

sit 1: i was at a party once and i saw this girl standing all by herself. it was obvious that she was shy and that she wasn't very popular. anyway, i was with my friends and i heard some people calling her a nerd and such. anyway, i felt awful because she didn't deserve that kind of treatment.i walked up to her and started talking to her. at first she thought i was just toying with her, making fun of her but eventually i got her out of her shell and just introduced her to a few people i felt she would be comfortable with. a few days later a friend of hers (one she made at the party) came up to me and said that she sang praises about me and that if not for me she would continue being miserable and friendless. i was touched. she might not have told this to me directly but all the same, i felt great.

sit 2: i was on the debate team in my first year of college and i convinced a friend of mine to join. she's the really shy type but she's really intelligent and i knew that with her on the team we had a good shot of winning. anyway, despite protesting she joined. the day of the debate she got really nervous and started crying. i gave her a hug and told her "jennifer, this is all in your head. there's nothing to be afraid of. this is one topic you're passionate about. and you're in command here. its an opportunity for you to show these people out there that still waters run deep". she managed to shake off her jitters and she came in so close to winning best speaker. after the debate (which we won) she came up to me and said that i really helped her compartmentalize her feelings and that i inspired her. once again, i was touched to the core.

Q2: What 1 person, who lives with you OR lives in your neighbourhood, would you want the other “The Surviving Link” players to meet? Please specify why you chose this person and what this person means to you.
i would want everyone to meet best friend Isabella. she's an incredible woman. she's a student and she's been supporting her education all by herself since the start of uni. and she helps out in her family as well. and to add to that, she also volunteers at the old folks home and childrens home. i love her to bits because she's been there for me in times of need over and over again. plus, she's gorgeous!

Q3: You have been granted a wish. For the rest of your life, you would NOT have to do one of the following ever again. Which one would you choose and why?

• Eat

• Bathe
• Defecate
• Brush your teeth

brushing my teeth. its one thing i hate doing by still do 3 times a day. i hate the taste of toothpaste and everytime i brush my teeth i HAVE to brush my tongue. and when i brush my tongue, the gag raflex is just not fun.

Q1: What is the 1 thing that most people usually like about you? Share 2 “colourful” situations (be detailed, please) where someone told you that they liked this “1 thing” about you.

People like most about me is my sense of humor or just personality has a whole..

Situation 1 - Well in Wellness(gym)..we have a really mean teacher..but I am the reason people laugh..he will make me sit in the corner and Ill still yell accross the gym to my friend Whitney "I LOVE YOU!" and all this crazy stuff..and I always have smart-ass comebacks for my teacher..and if he calls me something Ill say "your face" and then this one time a teacher walked in when I said some smart comment..and she laughed for like 5 minutes..I thought she was gonna die..and she was like "I like that kid..hes hilarious.."

Situation 2 - (Sorry crappy one but I think of another :p)..My best friend Dana tells me every day Im hilarious because I make her laugh 30 minutes straight..

Q2: What 1 person, who lives with you OR lives in your neighbourhood, would you want the other “The Surviving Link” players to meet? Please specify why you chose this person and what this person means to you.

My sister Ashline(pronounced Ace-ha-lean :p)..shes just as funny as me..but she has more of a dry sense of humor..but its great..she means alot to me..out of my other 14 siblings she is the one I would die without..she puts a smile on my face when I get mad at my dad..she just means everything to me..

Q3: You have been granted a wish. For the rest of your life, you would NOT have to do one of the following ever again. Which one would you choose and why?

TASK2: “It’s All About You”

Well hello everyone. I'm Christian and I am 18 years old. I live in New York City, which in my opinion is the place to be!!! I am currently a student at Hunter College in Manhattan and I plan on majoring in the Media field. I have a lot of friends and I just love making people laugh. When someone laughs because I said or did something, it makes me feel better. Some people see me as a depressing person cause I B*tch here or there. Well I like to tell the truth and when I tell the truth, people call me a b*tch or a jerk. Its their opinion so I don't mind. Many of you know me probably as a slut or something. Lol. It's not my fault that I enjoy variety. I like sports such as tennis and volleyball. I hate cheese. Its horrible, yuck! lol. Oh and I am terrible at Math. So yeah that's just a quick run down of a bit of my life.

After doing so, answer these 3 questions:

Q1: What is the 1 thing that most people usually like about you? Share 2 “colourful” situations (be detailed, please) where someone told you that they liked this “1 thing” about you.
A lot of people like and do not like that I am always honest. I tell the truth to your face whether you like it or not. One example I remember was last year when my friend was having relationship trouble and came to me for advice. She wanted to know if she should break up with her boyfriend because of a few problems they were having. I sat down with her and told her straightforwardly. "He has cheated on you twice before. He isn't going anywhere in life and you deserve better." She told me I was the only one besides her parents who told her so honestly what to do. She broke up with her boyfriend a few days later and currently has a new boyfriend, a better one. Another example of how good I am at being honest is when I revealed to my best friends that I was indeed a bisexual. I was nervous, I didn't know whether they would accept it or reject me. They were glad I told them and they loved how honest I was.
Q2: What 1 person, who lives with you OR lives in your neighbourhood, would you want the other “The Surviving Link” players to meet? Please specify why you chose this person and what this person means to you.
I would love for the other players to meet my best friend Audrey. The girl just makes you smile all the time. She is a great person and has been my best friend for over 4 years now. She's wild, she is crazy and she can't shut her mouth up. Everytime you are down, she will bring your moral up. Her fashion sense is a mix of white trash and Gwen Stefani and she is just a straight up loud Italian. She means so much to me, I love the girl to death and I would love to share her upbeat and crazy spirit with the rest of the players.
Q3: You have been granted a wish. For the rest of your life, you would NOT have to do one of the following ever again. Which one would you choose and why?

• Eat
• Sleep
• Bathe
• Defecate
• Brush your teeth

Ok I most likely would choose bathe. But then the wish better have me covered and allow me to smell and look very clean all the time lol. I just think I am pretty lazy when it comes to bathing since I do it everyday and I am getting tired of it lol. I might have chosen defecate if I knew what it meant? But yeah since I shower everyday, I am pretty tired of it so if I was allowed to be clean and smell good all the time then sure I would wish not to bathe anymore. :D

my name is Jericho... you can call me Jericho or Blake, pick one ;)
I am 17 years old and currently in my last year of high school. I live in southern california.

Q1: What is the 1 thing that most people usually like about you? Share 2 “colourful” situations (be detailed, please) where someone told you that they liked this “1 thing” about you.

-One thing people usually like about me is my use of humor as a defense mechanism. In other words, I have a way of deflecting whatever negative things people say with witty comebacks ;) .

Hmmm two colorful situations dont really have any, lemme think...

Well just in general my friends always try to make fun of each other (in a kidding way of course). Like one time my friend Kaya said to me "ewww, whats that ugly thing on your face?"...and i said, "it's called a mirror". It took him awhile to understand since he's not that bright, but he loves my comebacks. And a few people on this board can tell you how I just brush everything off using humor. For example, xtian told me how it seems like nothing phases me because I always use humor to get myself out of situations.

My friend

Q2: What 1 person, who lives with you OR lives in your neighbourhood, would you want the other “The Surviving Link” players to meet? Please specify why you chose this person and what this person means to you.

-That would be my neighbor and close friend Unique. She's very ummm... unique. I chose her because she is such an awesome person to be around. She is so playful, funny, and completely random. One time we were eating dinner together and she got up to take a shower and came back to finish dinner without saying a word...and this one time she bought me shoelaces for no reason. She's just very random.

Q3: You have been granted a wish. For the rest of your life, you would NOT have to do one of the following ever again. Which one would you choose and why?

• Eat
• Sleep
• Bathe
• Defecate
• Brush your teeth

I would rather not sleep for the rest of my life. To me, its kinda a waste of time. I require at least 8 hours of sleep. If I really think about it, I can do a whole lot in 8 hours besides laying in bed and sleeeping.

My name's Corey. I don't have any cool nicknames, so that kinda sucks. oh well. Anyways, I live in Northern California and I'm 15

Q1: Well, I can be pretty funny. I make people laugh pretty easily, sometimes unintentionally (maybe they're laughing AT me >.> <.<...nah) I guess my humour can be kinda a gift and a curse, because I can make people laugh, cheer people up, but other times I can joke about things that might be too touchy for some people, or at an innapropriate time. I guess every rose has it's thorns...I don't really think that's the proper...saying thingy o.O...but whatever.

2 colorful incidences? I can' think of any, sorry ._.

Q2: I think it would have to be my mother (ooh, I'm a momma's boy...x.x...not really) She's a very amazing woman. Dropped out of highschool when she was 16, got married when she was 19, had me when she was twenty, and then when she was 25she went back to community college to get her highschool credits, then went to Sonoma State University, graduated from there after 4 years or so majoring in psychology, and now she is currently working on her Ph.D in social psychology at Claremont Graduate University. She's also an excellent mom XP

Q3: I like all those things! Well, maybe defecation...it's kinda dirty and unnapealing.

TASK2: “I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU”

Q1: Of the friends and family that your fellow players described in Day 1’s task, which 1 would you like to meet and why?

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

-I have a friend who is only my friend because we know mutual people. If that wasn’t true, I wouldn’t even care to know this person.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they know I will tolerate things about them that other people won’t.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they make feel important and live vicariously through me.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because I feel sorry for them. If this person didn’t have me, they wouldn’t have any friends.

Q1: Of the friends and family that your fellow players described in Day 1’s task, which 1 would you like to meet and why?

It would have to be Cory's (JenFan) mom. She seems like an awesome and determined lady who did not whine and complain that she was too busy or too tired to continue with her education. She kept perserving throughout all her life and I deeply admire and respect that. Gotta give props to her. Maybe she could teach me a few things ;)

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they know I will tolerate things about them that other people won’t.

I have a friend that is a pathological liar. We've been friends for almost 18 years now (since 3rd grade) and it's kind of just a "habit" thing. She occasionally has other friends, but they come and go as they realize her problem of lying. I don't know why I put up with it sometimes.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because I feel sorry for them. If this person didn’t have me, they wouldn’t have any friends.

Same situation with Julie above. I do feel sorry for her and when she wants to be, she has an amazingly sweet attitude.

Q1: Of the friends and family that your fellow players described in Day 1’s task, which 1 would you like to meet and why?
I'd like to meet Jericho's friend Unique because i dont have any friends who are as random as she is. most of my friends are very planned and i'm usually the only spontaneous one around. i'd like to see how we'd get on.

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

-I have a friend who is only my friend because we know mutual people. If that wasn’t true, I wouldn’t even care to know this person.
i have a friend i know through mutual friend called Kevin. truth is that we have nothing in common and he's just too quiet. i've always asked him so many questions about himself and i get one word answers. when i asked the mutual friend (Yvonne) whether i offended him, she said no and that Kev is just that way. normally i tolerate people like that but when they seem so uninterested in talking to you, its just so annoying.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they know I will tolerate things about them that other people won’t.
this statement is also true. i've got a friend neeta and she can be the most unbelievably annoying person around. i dont know what it is but something about her just puts people off. maybe its cuz she's arrogant and harsh. really hard-hearted. sometime i wonder why i even stay friends with her, then i realize that she needs me more than i need her. and she can be very nice sometimes. like this once i was so sick, she stayed up by my bed feeding me chicken soup (my mom had also fallen ill) and she got really mad when none of my friends called to wish me well (in all fairness, they were on vacation so they didnt know) and she went on a rampage screaming at them (i knew about this cuz my mom told me she was on the phone making sure everyone came over to see me). thats when i realized that her heart is hard only cuz its pure gold. her harshness and directness is what people dont tolerate, but i do.for the reasons stated above.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because I feel sorry for them. If this person didn’t have me, they wouldn’t have any friends.
like Joshua, i have a friend sangeetha who is a pathological liar. i feel really sorry for her so i stay friends with her. i cant help it, i hate seeing people all by themselves and sometimes i think that if i am friends witht hem, maybe they'll change. sangeetha has changed a little but its a long process.

Q1: Of the friends and family that your fellow players described in Day 1’s task, which 1 would you like to meet and why?

I would probably choose Veronica's friend Isabella. I'm also going through the same thing right now I am working three jobs, so I can fund my university education. I think her and I would definitley have a lot in common, and I can learn a lot about how I can do this all successfully while still excelling at both my job and my education. Also all of the volunteer work reminds me of what I used to do while I was Treasurer of National Honor Society.

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

-I have a friend who is only my friend because we know mutual people. If that wasn’t true, I wouldn’t even care to know this person.

I have a lot of friends like this, but I don't know if we are friends or just acquantainses. I try to remain pleasant, amicable, and friendly with a lot of people for the pure fact that I need the networking. Being in the theater industry, I am well aware that who you know is just as important as what you know. Being friendly and on good terms with a lot of people (disperesed throughout the country) will help me be able to not be held back because Susie Q dislikes me. Most of the theater people in the area, and I "hang out," but if it wasn't for our similar theater interests I doubt I'd like them at all.

I honestly don't think the other ones really deal directly with me, I can't think of any right now. If I do think of more, I'll post it though :)

To answer the question Veronica posed:

I have three jobs currently:

Bank Teller,
Cash Control at an Amusement Park,
and
Assistant at a Talent Agency.

I love being a bank teller because I really enjoy working with cash, and I make the most money at this job. It's just really fun and I'm really close with everyone I work with. It's really fantastic.

The second job I've worked for 5 years, and it's the first job I ever had. I've worked my way up in the company going from a 14 year old cart worker/caterer into now the supervisor head of cash in the park. I've grown really close with a lot of people I work with, and we've been through a lot. It's sort of a safe haven for me, and I really love it.

The last one I do enjoy because it's sort of what I want to do, but it sort of frustrates me to see so many people with inflated egos who want their big break because they deserve it. I guess I should get used to it, but being so new in the industry it still makes me angry.

Ok, sorry to be so late guys! I worked yesterday and was exhausted when I got home! Well, lets get to know me. My name is Ryan, and I'm 17 years old (turning 18 May 20th ;)). I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It's not the greatest place to live, lots of rain and snow, but my family is here and that's really important to me.

One thing that people generally like about me is my "open-ness" and sociability. I work as a Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor and this requires me to deal with people on a day-to-day basis. I love to meet new people, and when I teach swimming lessons it is an excellent opportunity for me to teach children how to swim, and have fun with them at the same time. Last year I taught a Bibs'n-Bubbles class (infants from 3 months to 1 year old, with their mom/dad). I was pretty nervous at first since these are only babies, but I quickly warmed up to them and their parents. At the end of the 10-week teaching session, all the parents of my class teamed up and bought me an amazing "lifeguard package", i.e. goggles, jammers, two towels, and a sports bag. They said they were amazed at my self-confidence and maturity at such a young age and that they really enjoyed my class.

Another example of people commenting on my self-confidence etc would be in school. I'm taking Leadership in my final year of High School. Leadership is basically a class where students get to help the community and do special events such as Food Drives, Blood Clinics, Tutoring, and organizing sports events. Our class is going on a camping trip soon, and I was voted by my class to be our Co-ordinator. They said they picked me because I was perfectly happy talking to all of them and treated everyone equally. I'm definately not friends with all of them, but I respect their differences and do my best to make everyone feel equal.

One person I would have everyone on The Surviving Link meet is my girlfriend Jenn. We've been dating for over a year now, and she is so special to me. I've had many girlfriends before her, but she has definately matured me over the past year and made me a more responsible and likable person. She is such an excellent human being herself, I guess it rubs off on me. She is involved in school activities, helps out in the community, and somehow manages to have time for me! I really admire how she balances her life and never seems rushed, tired or frustrated. She's my example of someone who is beautiful on the inside and out.

If I had to pick one of those things to NEVER do again, it would definately be "deficate". Really, what is attractive or fun about that? Personally, I find it just stinks up the toilet and isn't fun. Also, I enjoy most of the other activities listed! I love to eat, I need my sleep or I'm cranky, ;) and brushing teeth isn't terrible.

Anyway, sorry for being so late with this, but hopefully you wont hold it against me! :wavey:

Chris's friend Audrey..she seems so much like my best friend..except my best friend is Irish :p..but its amazing to have a real close friend like that and to meet her would probably be tons of fun..she seems like the type you can just laugh with for hours..

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

I am friends with my boyfriends good friend Kelsey..but in all honestly I dont like her..she is a real big prep who flaunts herself everywhere and to everyone..

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they know I will tolerate things about them that other people won’t.
My friend Caitlin is so loud and truthful most people dont like her for that..but I hang out with them because Im used to people like that..coming from a Russian/Muslim family you know truthful people..

TASK2: “I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU”

Q1: Of the friends and family that your fellow players described in Day 1’s task, which 1 would you like to meet and why?

I would have to pick Josh's mom. My mom is also an amazing person, and even though I fight with her often I still love her and appreciate everything she does. I would like to meet Josh's mom because she sounds really caring and loving. Having someone that close to you being your best friend probably has many ups and downs, but she sounds very understanding, accepting and it sounds like she has a positive attitude and a sweet disposition.

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

-I have a friend who is only my friend because we know mutual people. If that wasn’t true, I wouldn’t even care to know this person.

I have a friend Craig, who I've known for about 5 years. I've never considered him a friend, but some of our friends are the same so I see him a lot at parties, school, and when me and my buddies hang out sometimes. We have nothing in common; he is extremely arrogant and constantly flaunts his "sex life" in my face. the thing is, he is NOT all that (isn't that always the case?). He does not do well in school, has never had a girlfriend, and just seems really fake and cheesy.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they know I will tolerate things about them that other people won’t.

My friend Graham is such a mooch, he knows that me and my friends are the only people who will tolerate it. Graham is a great guy overall and we hang out a lot, but whenever we're at a restaurant or at the mall, he constantly nags people to buy food and loan him money to buy clothing. He is not poor in the least, he just hates to spend (his) money. It gets quite irritating.

To answer everyone's questions:

-I am not a virgin. Me and my girlfriend had sex a long time ago.

-I work as a Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor at three different pools. I really like the people I work with and teaching kids, but sometimes the patrons can be extremely rude and most definately NOT fun to be around.

TASK2: “I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU”

Q1: Of the friends and family that your fellow players described in Day 1’s task, which 1 would you like to meet and why?

I would wanna meet veronica's friend Isabella. From her description, I already admire her independence and her generosity. Plus she said she's gorgeous ;) :p

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

-I have a friend who is only my friend because we know mutual people. If that wasn’t true, I wouldn’t even care to know this person.

Yeah i have a lot of friends who i call "friends" just because they are friends of my friends if that makes sense ;)

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they know I will tolerate things about them that other people won’t.

I'm a patient person, i always try to see the positive things in people. So yeah i do have friends who are my friends because they know im tolerant of their annoying habits.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they make feel important and live vicariously through me.

I have one friend in particular who in a way depends on me. I have to admit it feeds my ego, but thats not the only reason why we're friends.

Other questions people asked:

Yes I am a virgin. My first innocent kiss was in second grade with a girl named lisa, we pretended like we were married. But my first real kiss was in 8th grade when a girl who had a crush on me pulled me into the girls restroom, pushed me up against the wall, and made out with me... and i kinda liked it :p

I work at Disneyland. I play volleyball for my high school, I surf, bodyboard, skimboard. My favorite food is italian and thai and bacon  ... I love cooking by the way.

TASK2: “It’s All About You”

:wavey: I'm Nathan and I'm 30. I live in Chicago and work for the government. I'm also a full time IT Student in web design. And I can't be defined by a simple introduction.

After doing so, answer these 3 questions:

Q1: What is the 1 thing that most people usually like about you? Share 2 “colourful” situations (be detailed, please) where someone told you that they liked this “1 thing” about you.

Most people like my humor. I have the ability to make people laugh very easily. For example, I had a friend that just got into a car accident and banged up her nose. When I saw her she was all bandaged and whatnot. I took her to lunch, despite her not wanting to go. Well of course people stared at her with this bandaged nose. I proclaimed a big announcement that she was really Britney Spears and in town 'hiding out' after a botched nose job. She laughed. Another example is at work, I have this co-worker that I always make laugh. And one day in particular we were discussing what we saw on tv the night before. We had both watched Taxicab Confessions and there was this transvetite on there. Well, we named her Estelle and were imitating her speech. So she's on the radio communicating with one of the cops and I said (Full lisp, tranny accent) "Then he shot me in the back". She snorted across the police radio and EVERYONE heard it. Was much fun.

Q2: What 1 person, who lives with you OR lives in your neighbourhood, would you want the other “The Surviving Link” players to meet? Please specify why you chose this person and what this person means to you.

I would want everyone to meet my friend Pat. She's so mothering and nice and nuturing. She's been like a 2nd mom to me. She has taught me so much about life and beauty and everything inside that builds character. Plus, she loves everyone and has a smile on her face all the time. And she's the best baker ever. She'd feed everyone. ;)

Q3: You have been granted a wish. For the rest of your life, you would NOT have to do one of the following ever again. Which one would you choose and why?

• Eat
• Sleep
• Bathe
• Defecate
• Brush your teeth

Sleep. I find that sleepy is wasting life. I'd rather be awake and experience life.

I just re-watched Mean Girls with my parents, it is damn hilarious! Another favorite movie of mine is FIGHT CLUB!! I think Brad Pitt is an amazing actor, and Edward Norton did a killer job, this movie roxors my soxors. Another highly under-rated movie that I love is Entrapment with Zeta-Jones and ....(I forgot his name :o ). Saw is really good too, I saw it on Halloween with some friends and it scared the shit out of me!

I think it would be cool if everyone just randomly posted what they did today (or yesterday or will be doing later), just normal chat stuff, just to get a feel for everyone's schedule...

Today I had work at the bank, and it was short 9a-2p, got two people to open accounts which earns me $24 in bonus money in a check I get in August :) Later I went home and napped for an hour, then my friends Ned and Natalie called to replace their friend Tony (Tony and I are pretty much the same person except one of us is heterosexual and the other one is not ;)) and we drove around for ages. Into these weird wood towns I didn't know they had in my area ;) Somehow we ended up in Boston (not too far away 20 minutes) ate a bit, walked around... We were not prepared for it so we were all in flip flops haha. Then we drove around at night going to scary places and freaking eachother out. I'm the biggest scaredy cat in the world!!

What's everyone's biggest irrational fear?

Mine is definitley, abandoned gas stations. They really freak me out at night. I also hate being around new development (houses being built and stuff like that) at night. I get so testy...

MY friend Natalie tonight is freaked out by dumpsters!!! We went to this dumpster behind a pizza place tonight which reminded us of a scene in the movie Muholland drive ;)

whats ur fave food?

Mine is probably fried chicken, although I try not to indulge in it too often :) My mother makes a really spicy steak dish with parsely and red onions which is to die for. :)
What sports do yall play?

I play tennis primarily have been playing since I was 8 when I moved into the house I live in now (there's a tennis court in our complex). I played t-ball starting when I was 8 as well for a couple of years before I switched to play soccer from 10 to 13. When I turned 14 I started playing tennis on a junior team in the region and played some USTA events (did pretty poorly, but it was a lot of fun). I've always wanted to play volleyball though (I'm pretty darn good in gym class ;)), but it conflicted with our tennis season.

I'm starting to take up golf now, and I love it!
What is everybody's political leaning?

I suppose I'm liberal but I'm not very passionate about much politically. I mean I vote and I'm passionate about getting kids out to vote (I was paid on campus last semester to get as many students to vote as I could, I worked for a Student Agency), but there's not one burning political issue I care about. It would probably be econmy, the thing I care the most about, but I find it really boring most of the time ;).
What is everyone's favorite movie?

My favorite comedy is probably Clueless and Best in Show. For a dramatic movie I really loved Dancer in the Dark, The Color Purple and The Joy Luck Club.

I also enjoyed Cruel Intentions, the Kill Bills.

Drop Dead Gorgeous is one of my favorite movies too, bcause I'm obsessed with Kirstie Alley. :)

I <3 Mean girls too.. :)

Gone With the Wind has to be one of the best movies ever.

I'm also a big fan of a little known comedy from the 80's called Outrageous Fortune with Bette Midler and Shelly Long. It's fucking hilarious! :D

Yesterday was an easy day for me. I woke up pretty early for a Saturday, around 7:30, at some breakfast and goofed off on the internet for about 3 hours

Then my dad was burning some brush, so I went outside and helped him with that for a while until around 3:30 or so. My mom went to the grocery story to cook out steaks and hamburgers last night and got stuff to make Margaritas! :D So, I drank about 3 margaritas in about 1 hour and I was tipsy!

That caused me to go to bed pretty early too, around 10:00 for a Saturday. It was a boring, yet leisurly day for me.

Q1: Of the friends and family that your fellow players described in Day 1’s task, which 1 would you like to meet and why?

Probably Blake's friend Unique. Just because I love random people and their actions. Its so funny at times and strange as well. So yeah most certainly I would love to meet Unique.

Q2: When it comes to your friends away from the board, which of the following phrases are true? Select those that apply and explain your answer(s).

-I have a friend who is only my friend because we know mutual people. If that wasn’t true, I wouldn’t even care to know this person.

Yeah sadly this is true. I do have friends that are friends of my friends and if I didn't know my friends I wouldn't be friends with the other person lol. Ermm.

-I have a friend who is only my friend because they make feel important and live vicariously through me.

Oooh, today was awesome!

I worked from 10:30-2:30 today, and had THREE pullouts within one hour *sob*. I hate when parents put their kids in the pool and they can't swim, it equals cranky wet lifeguards. Anyway, after work I went home and had a nap before going for a jog. Its finally starting to act like spring around here, so I can start running again! Then, I went to see Sin City with my dad and brothers. I've seen it before, but it is the best movie EVER. I forgot how much I loved it.

I really want to get Garbage's new CD "Bleed Like Me". I love the first song, and I've liked all of their previous albums. Recently I've been listening to a lot of Oasis' "Whats The Story (Morning Glory)", Wonderwall must be the best song in the universe. Other stuff in my CD player atm is Green Day's American Idiot, LAMB by Gwen Stefani, and Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt.

The city in TASK1? There is none but let's chat about sex. ;)

In YOUR opinion what is Sexual Repression?
basically, its where all the sexual desires, and activites are surpressed, kept at bay. it can sometimes be linked to religion as well, as i feel that some people are torn between following their religion and their horniness.

Based on your answer, should one seek help from healthcare professionals if they are sexually repressed?
well, if it affects their lives, where they get depressed, yes they should. if they can maintain control, i dont see a point. seeking help would allow them to find other outlets/ways to let loose while having control over the mind means that they already know how to let loose in other ways. besides, i dont think its completely wrong to be sexually repressed. of course, it can be frustrating as hell if they have a high ass libido but can do anything about it but masturbate. and no, i dont think masturbating is repressing anything. its completely different from intercourse and oral sex.

What do you think is the root of sexual repression and what do you think is a possible solution for it?
as i said earlier, it could be religion. but it can also be that some people are afraid of it so they supress their sexual desires. and maybe its because they lack confidence (because of looks/intelligence) and find it hard to get a partner.

In YOUR opinion what is Sexual Repression?

One is only sexually repressed when they feel that they are repressed, IMO. It's all a matter of how you see yourself in the situation.

Based on your answer, should one seek help from healthcare professionals if they are sexually repressed?

If they believe they are, or feel they are, I feel it's important that they do speak to a therapist or someone with knowledge on the subject that is able to help them move on from the repression and feel better about themselves. It's like that with anything in your life that you feel is lacking, IMO.

What do you think is the root of sexual repression and what do you think is a possible solution for it?

The root is one's own mind. Mind over matter is my main motto and if you allow yourself to think of yourself as repressed, then you are. That's not to say that it's wrong -- cause it's not. It's just a normal dysfunction that many people go through.

In YOUR opinion what is Sexual Repression?

-I believe that sexual repression is when one's sexual wants, needs and desires are unfulfilled for one or more reasons. Whether it be their culture, religion, family etc. that prevents them from achieving "satisfaction". Also, I think that someone/something must be preventing a person's sexual desires from being fulfilled for it to be classified as "repression", otherwise it's just frustration. ;)

Based on your answer, should one seek help from healthcare professionals if they are sexually repressed?

Yes and no. It depends on whether or not they are willing to make changes in their life to achieve their sexual needs. I think to un-repress oneself, it could involve moving away from the source of repression. I would recommend it to those who really feel it is ruining their life.

What do you think is the root of sexual repression and what do you think is a possible solution for it?

I think many times it comes from within oneself, and their unconscious desire to repress their "tainted" views. Also, religion is a big factor in someone feeling forced to hide these feelings. The only solution I can think of would be to put yourself in a situation where everyone accepts everyone for who they are.

In YOUR opinion what is Sexual Repression?

In my opinion Sexual repression is wanting badly anything form of physical touch from whatever sex you are attracted too, and not getting any of it for an extended period of time. I think repression has all to do with your own mindset about it. I mean most of my friends are sexually active, and I've chosen not to participate in it, but I don't feel repressed because I don't really want to do anything sexual anyway.

Based on your answer, should one seek help from healthcare professionals if they are sexually repressed?

I think if anything is causing a negative effect on your life, then you should definitley seek help. I just think everyone should be proactive in their problems, and if something is happening that's causing bad things to happen to you, you should fix it. No one should ever have to live an unfuffiled life, or a life that they aren't completley happy with.

What do you think is the root of sexual repression and what do you think is a possible solution for it?

I think it's all mental. It's starts with you, if you have the mind set that you want to have sex badly, and you don't for a very long period of time it's going to wear you down and really cause a riff in your life. If you don't have the mindset, but have gone the same period without having sex it really isn't a problem.

I don't think there's a solution for it, I just think everyone has to know who they are, and know what is the best remedy for them is. If they don't find that, or don't know what that is, and don't try to seek help in curing themselves, it's all on their own, and I have no pity or apathy for them.

And who do I think is going to be voted out ? My mind says Nathan because of the lack of participation, but as the first person voted out in the first Surviving Link, I know that anything's possible, even if you post a lot. Thankfully I don't think I'm as notorius on this board as I was on the sanex one. :)

i chose jay cuz he has a fantastic smile and i'm attracted to this type of face. the pic was not too model-esque which i also liked.

the worst was michael because i dont like the way he looks. simple as that. his mouth and nose just dont go together. still, its a matter of taste and this doesn't appeal to me. (but that does NOT mean i would not do him)

Quddus

I chose Steve, because well I've seen him elsewhere and he has the body type that I find ideal. Tall and lean. Most of the guys that I fancy have that body type, and even though I'm not a big fan of his ears I still love it.

I'd pick Quddus last. I don't know, I hate facial hair usually so that alone probably threw me off.

I chose Jay as my #1 because he looks like he has the best personality. The smile says it all -- he looks like he loves to have a good time and would love to talk about current events and stuff like that....things that I like. He just looks knowledgable and friendly and all around a good guy.

I chose Steve as last because he fits that "frat" boy image that really turns me off. He looks like he is trying too hard to be cute and that in unnatural and unbecoming for me. I really don't like his eyes - his look in the camera. I just get an overall negative feeling from him.

Is your new username after the Survivor player Shi Ann (I guess not because they are spelled differently). If it is, that's awesome, cause I love that girl.

And a general note to everyone :bounce: I get to exempt my Spanish 201 final exam :bounce: because I have a 96 in the class! :D

Here are 5 males that you may recognize:

KURT
MICHAEL
JAY
QUDDUS
STEVE

Put them in order of best-looking to worst-looking.

Michael
Jay
Kurt
Quddus
Steve

I chose Michael first because I love Michael on One Tree Hill but other than that I am in love with the Asian/White/Hispanic(If he is, if not ok.) mix because I think especially Asian mixed with Whites are just gorgeous. Blake knows this cause I am in love with him haha.

Lasty I put Steve because I mean he is cute but that is a pretty bad picture of him. He has some weird facial features sometimes, like his eyes may be too big? lol

Volcana. i think that people normally brush him off but i love his posts because they are very very profound. he speaks so eloquently. and he's very knowledgable. i think he sounds a bit grown up so people normally just ignore him and dont appreciate him enough.

Rocketta. yes, she's popular with many but she has many haters. i've known rocky for AGES, longer than most i here (we go waaaaay back to gotennis) and i think that her bluntness and honesty rub some people the wrong way and hence the underappreciation. if u look into what she says, you'll realize that she's intelligent and she's witty.

Viggen. i think he's not appreciated enough because he keeps a low profile. i think he's very funny and people often think his jabs at some players are offensive. it isnt. he's just teasing.

Name 3 WTAWorld posters who you believe to be 'underappreciated' (your interpretation of the word). Please thoroughly explain your choices.

1 - Most importantly is the user "Alek" -- Not many people know him, but he is a moderator in the Games and the Challenger forum. He also runs the game Fantasy Womens Tennis Tour or "FWTT" It has been going on for over five years now and is the original and longest running game ever on WTAWorld even going back to the SanexWTA board days. He is a sincere and nice guy and is always willing to listen and talk to people and he does so much for WTAWorld that goes unnoticed. Furthermore, he has a deep and appreicative sense for his favorite players -- like Asa Carlsson. He had developed her own website and progressively tracked her results and made constant checks on her when she was out with an injury. It's not easy to find out information, especially on lower ranked players. He was always very studious in his tasks to make sure he knew out what was going on with her. Now, he has focused on quite a few Mexican girls (he is from Mexico) and he maintains a website for them and is constantly cheering for them -- despite their wayward efforts in the lower challenger series. He is just a good guy and I really appreciate him.

2 - Volcana -- he has had many other usernames, but my first interactions with Volcana started on the AOL Tennis Messageboards in 1998 under the name of VicVenn. Then, we progressed to the SanexWTA board under the name of ShawdowJack and now in the current incarnation of Volcana. This user (I'm assuming it's a "he") is very mysterious about his personal life, but his analysis of the game and of stats, rankings, etc. is fabulous. He makes many posts, which unfortantely are responded to. My feelings are that since he is a "Williams" fans, many people don't bother to look at it, furthermore, the diatribe in General Messages is so negative, people just choose not to focus on informational data. It's sad to see that all of his wealth of knowledge goes unnoticed.

3 - Griffin -- Many people around here know Griffin as a moderator but I knew her before that back in the SanexWTA days (I have a habit of picking board veterans). She is always fair and consistent with her moderation of the boards (she even warned me once!) and keeps a violent free message board. I know there are other moderators, but Griffin impresses me even more, because every thread I go into, she's there, talking up about the topic. For example, I see her post about Survivor, American Idol, The Amazing Race, Venus Williams vs. Monica Seles 2002 QF, etc. SHE IS EVERYWHERE! So she contributes amazing content to the site as well which helps the board grow! It's awesome that she has the time, effort, dedication, and passion to do this and I deeply admire it. I think she is under-appreciated too because she doesn't seek appreciation, so often people don't realize all what she does. But I do and I like her :)

So there are my three :D

TheBoiledEgg: I believe TBE is seen posting about Russians all the time, and does not get credit for all the other stuff he does. ;) WTAWorld may be organized chaos as it is, but without TBE we would be sunk in terms of keeping track of WTA results etc, and he has an excellent knowledge of the sport.

Brian Stewart: I always think of him as Rollo's sidekick, but really Brian Stewart is in change of tabulating and storing ALL the Grand Slam results in history. I love reading what goes on in BFPT, and Brian does not regularly post outside of the GS Results section. He is very dedicated to finding draws and results from the most impossible era's and years, and most of the pre-pubescent posters on this board do not understand his contribution to the site.

Steam: Steam does not post much outside of Hockey and Survivor threads, but I really like how disagreeable he is. Many people take his bluntness as an offence, but really he just jokes around. I think his posts are insightful and intelligent, and he's hilarious.

Being a straight male, this task wasn't exactly fun oe easy. :p

This is definitley a tough one... I don't really know that many people on the board but...

Alek, is first of all for the same reasons Josh posted. He's run such a fabulous game for such a long time, and his staying power is really great. I mean I know that if I didn't have FWTT I probably would have left awhile ago, and it's good I hadn't because now I'm just getting back into the posting thing.

Doctor G, he also runs fabulous games, and I really think he's one of the smartest and best posters out there. He's a fantastic guy and of course I'm automatically partial to those posters who have been around with me the longest, and he I do remember from the original sanex board.

The Boiled Egg, his knowledge is profound, and the work he puts into the rankings in the Challenger forum is just really incdedible. His knowledge and effort he gives to the board is nearly unparalleled.

My Joke haha....

First Ever Dumb Blonde GUY Joke

There were three guys working on the 50th floor of a building. One was Mexican, one was Irish, and the other was a blonde. Well one day they were sitting eating lunch dangling their feet doing nothing much.

The Mexican guy opens up his lunchbox and takes out a taco. He exclaims "My wife always packs me tacos for lunch! taco's Taco's TACO'S!!! I am sick of tacos!!! Can't she pack me something different?!?! If she gives me a taco one more time I am going to jump off this building!!!"

The Irishman looks at him strangely, but doesn't say anything. Expecting something yummy for lunch, there in his lunch box is Creamed Corn and Hash. Overpowereded by the Mexican's words, he says "Every single day for the past 10 years my wife has given me this every single day for lunch! I hate Creamed Corn and Hash!!! I'm with you, Mexican, if I get one more lunch of Creamed Corn and Hash, I will jump off this building right with you!"

All the while the blonde is just sitting there eating his sandwich. Feeling left out, he says "I get a sandwich every single day too! I hate it too!! I am with you both! Tomorrow if we all get the same lunch, we are jumping off this building!!"

The next day, they are all working patiently, just waiting to see what they got for lunch. The day seemed to go on forever, but finally lunch came. The Mexican guy ipens up his lunch. He finds a taco!! He gives a sigh and jumps off the building.

The Irishman is very scared. He does not want to jump off, but he has to. So he cautiosly opens up his lunch. And what do you know? He has creamed corn and hash! He says good-bye to the blonde man and jumps off screaming.

The blond, being lonely, opens up his lunch and he finds a sandwich. He just shakes his head and jumps.

At the funeral, the wives of all three men are standign around mourning together. The Mexican's wife says "If only I didn't give him taco's everyday, ehe may have still being alive today!"

The Irishman's wife shakes her head in agreement, saying "I take full responsibility for my husband's death!"

They both look over at the blonde man's wife who is not crying and ask her why she is not mourning. She replies "Don't blame me, he made his own lunch!"

You are granted one wish.

For an entire year, the powers that be will arrange it so that you can do one of these 4 things.

Which thing-- A, B ,C or D-- will you do? Please thoroughly explain your answer.

A. You will not have to work or study for the entire year. Your life will be decadent-- all you do is go to parties and clubs, travel by private jet to luxurious places, shop, go out to dinner, get drunk, do drugs and spend time with "fabulous" people.

B. You will run a small country. All your frustrations with your own country and its society at large can be cast aside because for one year you will shape the structure of this small country, governing it the way you see fit in every regard.

C. You, your family, and your closest friends will be stranded on an island for a year. You will have enough water for the duration of your stay as well as medical supplies but food and shelter will be your responsibility.

D. Your life will be exactly the same as it is now but the powers that be will see to it that, during this year, you can have (safe) sex with anyone you want. Any friend, acquaintance, stranger--including people from your past-- will be available for sex if you so desire.

Task 1:

I choose the first one. So I'll admit it, I am sort of in a way shallow. I'm not afraid to admit it because I don't think I'm so over the top shallow the it effects the decisions I make in everyday life, but I also do know that I do have a lot of shallow in me. One of the comments I'll say whenever I talk about Paris Hilton is I wasnt to be a socialite. I do. So I pick that one I just think it would be amazing. I'd probably hate not working or studying, but like Paris I'd probably be able to be in a movie or something ;) I don't know I have very expensive taste and I think I'm trying to cater my life to the point where I don't have the same responsibilities and bills t oworry about that I do now.

I do know that's it pretty shallow, but it really is what I wish my life could be. I definitley wouldn't do drugs however, and I'd probably seldom be drunk. I love being in control and not having control of my own body would freak me out for sure.

2. Picking your nose
3. Singing out loud
4. Scratching your butt
5. Looking at yourself in a window's reflection
6. Spitting out a phlegm ball
7. Playing with your hair

Yes I would definitley be able to do 6 out of the 7 thing daily. The first four I probably do when I'm in my car. When I'm in the car and I'm driving to work or whatever I go crazy. I'm sure I talk to myself about the stupid drivers (Mass drivers are the worst!). I do pick my nose, but I ALWAYS sanitize my hands after so it's not so bad.

I sing like crazy-psycho in my car. I go absolutley insane with the singing. If I have friends in my car, we're jamming I don't care. I think everyone does! If you don't you should it's absolutley the best. Scratch my bum? Sure.

I think the shallowness sort of comes into play with the next one. I just can't help but look if I see my reflection. I don't think it's so much the shallowness actually. I think it's more of a self concious thing. I've never been able to put one outfit on, and leave with it in the morning. I change my outfits 2-4 times before I leave my house. I'm sort of a perfectionist with my apperance and I am also very slef concious. I need to look good in order to feel good.

I play with my hair all the time. Not ashamed about that! It used to be funny because I used to have shorter hair and not much to play with, but now I have longer hair and I play with it all the time.

I'm ditzy what can I say?

I don't spit in public ever. I just refuse. I don't fart (eeew just typing it makes me feel odd), burp, or spit in public. Not my style. :)

you meet someone really gorgeous at a dinner with a friend. would your prefer to be charming or mysterious? please elaborate.

i would be charming. i always try to make a good first impression. sometimes the whole mysterious thing doesnt work...you might come off as weird :p . I would be charming, flirt a little, but not too much because i dont want to give her any ideas.

You are granted one wish.

For an entire year, the powers that be will arrange it so that you can do one of these 4 things.

A. You will not have to work or study for the entire year. Your life will be decadent-- all you do is go to parties and clubs, travel by private jet to luxurious places, shop, go out to dinner, get drunk, do drugs and spend time with "fabulous" people.

By process of elimination. B, i think the power would get to my head and i cant handle all that responsibility. C, doesnt sound appealing at all :p . D, im not interesting in casual sex.

So my answer would be A. I wouldn't mind not working or studying. I wouldnt mind partying either lol. Except i dont do drugs.

1. Talking to yourself ~ oh all the time especially if i do something stupid or do something great lol.
3. Singing out loud ~ all the time too...i always sing out loud, and when i mean out loud...i mean out LOUD ;)
5. Looking at yourself in a window's reflection ~ sure why not :p ... tv screens, shiny surfaces :tape:
7. Playing with your hair ~ its a habit, and i always try to make my hair perfect..yeah i admit im kinda high maintenance whatever

B. You will run a small country. All your frustrations with your own country and its society at large can be cast aside because for one year you will shape the structure of this small country, governing it the way you see fit in every regard.
I think thatd itd be awesome to run my own country. I mean I would probably legalize everything but pot..but :p.

1. Talking to yourself - I play tennis and talk to myself so :p
3. Singing out loud - I sing when I get mad at tennis
4. Scratching your butt - Wedgies are crazy foo
5. Looking at yourself in a window's reflection - Ill look at myself through anything
7. Playing with your hair - Its something to do when I get bored

I choose B because for one, i LOVE power and having people bow down to me. but seriously, i always complain about how things are done in my country. i'd like to see if i can handle it. also, i want to know how good a ruler i can be. basically a challenge to myself, to assume so much responsibility. and i also want to know if people would be happy with the way i lead.

On any given day, which of the following could one catch you doing publicly without you realizing? You can name as many or as few.

1. Talking to yourself
2. Picking your nose
3. Singing out loud
4. Scratching your butt
5. Looking at yourself in a window's reflection
6. Spitting out a phlegm ball
7. Playing with your hair

i never scratch my ass in public and i never spit. same with the nose picking. i'd d it in private. but you can catch me looking at my reflection and playing with my hair ALL the time.

Jordan, a very interesting question ;)

If you could die for one day, would you go to Heaven or Hell, remember you will come back. Why did you pick that choice?

I would pick heaven as I don't believe in hell, so I don't think that would be a choice in my spiritual view of the world. Also, if heaven is how I envision it to be, then I would be able to come back a much smarter, wiser, and more at peace person that is willing to give love to any and everyone. I would focus less on my ego and more on my spiritual advancement -- which is important to me. The knowledge I would gain from heaven would be priceless and amazing and simply just incredible....that's why I would choose heaven :)

B. You will run a small country. All your frustrations with your own country and its society at large can be cast aside because for one year you will shape the structure of this small country, governing it the way you see fit in every regard.

Most everyone thinks that they have the "correct" version of how the world should be ruled, and I am no different. I would love to be the administrator of a small country and put all my ideas to task...ideas that I have been formulating ever since I became aware of politics almost 12 years ago. I am such an idealist and such an optimist, that I would hope that my country would transform the way the other countries in the world are ruled (specifically USA). It would be an honor and so exciting to know that my thoughts and decisions actually made a positive difference in so many peoples lives!

Task 2:

Singing out loud

I absolutely adore music. Music helps me experience my emotions and my spirituality at a much higher level. I am always jamming to some tune in my car everytime I am in it. Also, when I am on my computer, I always have music playing as well. It helps me conceptualize where my life has been, where it is now, and where I want it to go. It helps me reflect upon mistakes I have made and how to improve the way I live. When I sing along to the tunes, I actually experience the words that are in the song and I am able to mature as a person....I love it!

Jaime, if you were banished from the USA and you have to live the rest of your life in another country, where would you live and why?

I would likely go to the England and study the French language and then eventually move to France. I just love England and love opportunity I have their. I know that they have a rich th eater program there and I would definitley want to go to a country that has opportunites to make it in the business I wish. Although, I've always wanted to move to France. My buddy Mike who will be gr aduating Uni in a few weeks is moving to France in September to teach English. I just find that so wonderful and daring! Once I feel better about the French language I would move their.

Although a part of me would love to go to a country that the US Dollar is worth more in then I could live lavishly ;) The English pound is like worth 1.7 or something in US DOllars  I'd be so poor! ;)

Task 2-

1-Kelly Hu -- Kelly was Miss Teen USA 1987(?) and almost won Miss USA 1993 (she should have). Plus she has an awesome personality that makes her very personable. She is by far the standout of this group.

2-Zhang -- I'm always a fan of Asian women in beauty pageants and Zhang has the small facial features that I think are gorgeous. She is a great example of what I think is beautiful.

3-Lucy Liu -- She has a nice calmness about her look that is always reassuring and she's got a great personality too.

4-Sandra Oh -- I just adore Sandra! She was so funny on Arli$$ (the HBO show that not many people know about) and many other independent films and now Grey's Anatomy. Her nose is a bit big, thus her reason for being #4, but she's still beautiful.

5-Devon -- she looks like a little girl and doesn't look like she has any maturity at all. Sorry Devon :(

I think this is the statement that I feel strongest with because it's important to have friends that are willing to understand where you are coming from and be by your side no matter what.

Plus, I think of all the options, this is the hardest one for a friend to do....I know I've struggled with it many times before and sometimes I could even be guilty of not being supportive over situations that I disagree with my friends on.

So -- IMO, if you are able to do this then you are an awesome friend!

It's hard to answer this question, because by saying this, it means I am finally talking about it ;) BUT......here goes.

For most of my life I had been significantly overweight (350 pounds) but over the past 2 and half years, I have been fortunate enough to lose 165 pounds to my current weight of 185 pounds. It's a deeply personal issue for me, partly because I'm embarassed that I was ever that big to begin with, compounded with the fact that I'm not a "bragger" and I don't like to show off my achievements to other people.

Also, when people find out this information, they automatically assume I had gastric bypass surgery, because they think no one can do that on their own.....but I beg to differ. It was through hardwork, effort, and determination that I was able to drop off all those pounds. It was (and still is) an everyday struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle and I am proud of that and am insulted when people think I had the surgery.

So -- there ya have it. :)

well, this is the one i choose. i remember once me and isabella had a huge fight about something that was completely my fault. anyway, i know i really hurt her but i refused to apologize. (the whole pride issue) and anyway, i even had the nerve to get Lizelle (our other friend) to come on my side. anyway, about a week and a half later, i was still being a bitch to her making snide comments whenever she passed by but she never said anything. i knew she was mad but i just wanted her to lash out so we could actually start shouting at each other again. anyway, me and lizelle were walking past this crowded ice-cream parlour and we saw isabella talking to this horrible girl Joanne who hates me for no apparent reason. anyway, Joanne was saying some pretty nasty stuff about me (eg: OMG, that Veronica is such a slut!i just heard that she dissed you <untrue> and she's saying so much shit about you behind your back<untrue>. what a bitch!maybe you should liek take revenge on her or something"...i was about to march in there and give these two a piece of my mind when bella looked Joanna straight in the eye and said " you know what, Veronica may be having issues with me but she is not any one of those things you just said. she'd hate me but she'd never say anything bad about me. she may have her flaws but she's a terrific person. you're not even close to coming to the dust on the soles of her feet so dont you dare talk bad about her cuz if you do, i'll rearrange your fucking face" (keep in mind, this was the mild-mannered isabella talking).

anyway, i was so touched and i just ran in and hugged her and bawled, apologizing.

the point is, even though she probably could have dissed me along with that skank joanna, she didnt. she proved that she was a true friend, then and there.

well, i'm a pretty open book but i must say that i had big big problems with my mom and dad when my mom got pregnant at a ripe old age of 44. i was 19 at the time and i was FURIOUS!the thing was that at the time everyone was so happy for them including my elder sister valentina who was 22 at the time. and i couldnt talk to anyone. i feel horrible now, but i threatened to move out (i own an apartment and a car - granted, my dad got them for me but i paid for the car. and still am actually). everyone said that i was just jealous because my place as youngest child was not to be anymore. which was true to a certain extent. anyway, eventually i managed to come to terms with it and now i wouldn't have it any other way. i love my sister (who I named, by the way, Virginia Tallulah Vani) who is almost the center of my life.

In a moment of crisis--- A, B or C--- which one are you?

A. I would be best served as the person who could keep everyone calm with my reassuring personality while following the orders handed down to me.

B. I would be best served as the person left alone to come up with ideas that would hopefully rectify the situation.

C. I would be best served as the person who does a lot of physical labor, leading the charge to execute the plan concocted by the powers that be.

well, people who know me would immediately say that i would be A, but i think that i'm better at B. i'm always the one with the ideas for things to do and many of my friends come to me for advice when something is not right. i think this works hand in hand with A, which as i said, i feel is a lot like me, but i'm going with B here.

7. I didn't care so much about what others thought

haha!i dont mean to sound like an arrogant ho, but i pride myself in being 1-6. but numero 7, well, i cant help it. sometimes i care too much what others think about me. its easy to tell others who have low self-esteem "sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me" but when it comes to me, i worry a lot about what people think. its something i've been fighting since my schooling days. i've said before that i was a cheerleader and i swear EVERYONE thought i was a dumb slut. completely untrue because i was faithful to my bf (at the time) and i wasn't dumb. even though i was on the honor roll in school, nobody took me seriously and i always worked extra hard so my grades would be better.it wasn't until my IB results came out (equivalent to A-levels) that people actually started respecting me for my brain and not my body.

back in malaysia, the indian and chinese girls labelled me as a bitch without even giving me a chance and i became really depressed. the thing is that in malaysia, if you're indian and you wear short skirts and tank tops and speak fluent english, thats the stereotype thats attached to you.

i know that sometimes i bring it upon myself because i act like a bimbo (its fun) but come on!give me a break.

getting back to the point, i tend to worry about what people think of me and sometimes it can affect my focus.

This totally describes me as I am a leader and not a follower. I love to see a challenge and take it and solve the problem and running the show. I think I'm pretty effective at it too. ;)

I didn't care so much about what others thought

Of all the ones on the list, this is the least superficial one and the most important one to be. Until we can be our "authentic" selfs and not worry about others' thoughts, then we are not spiritually complete. I will always struggle with this issue, as will most everybody else, but I know I've come a long long way ;)

1. A true friend will keep a secret even if extentuating circumstances are forcing them to reveal the secret.

This is the most important one for me. When something is told in confidence I beleive it should stay that way. Under no circumstance should a real true friend should betray that trust. I just think it's the worst thing you could ever do for a person. I think the rest are all forgiveable, but this, this will cause me to hold a grudge that could last for a very very long time.

It's probably because I'm a very private person, and if I do say something that I feel secretive and should be held in confidence I need it to stay that way.

What’s something that you want to post on WTA World about yourself but have never had the opportunity e.g. no one’s started a thread on this subject, you've been reluctant to initiate the topic on your own, posters just haven't bothered to ask you...?

You know, I'd probably have to say nothing. I say what I have to say, and I'm fine with it. I guess I don't really, I dunno know enough people or perhaps care about enough people for me to have a burning question in my mind that I want to share. I just don't think it matters on this board, I'm not emotionally invested nor am I really all that interested in a lot of people I guess. I guess that's really harsh, and it's probably not a smart thing to say, but that's how I feel.

I don't think I care enough to have anything to say to that.

A. I would be best served as the person who could keep everyone calm with my reassuring personality while following the orders handed down to me.

I guess that's what I ideally would like me to be. That's how I am on the tennis court at least, when I'm either the captain of the team or the doubles partner. I'm always the level one who tried to calm everyone down and hope for success.

Although to be honest I most likely see myself as the person who is freaking out causing problems for everyone! If I'm being honest haha, that's who I am. I think in crisis I'd totally lose control and freak out like no body's business. ;)

6. I lived on my own

After going away to college and living in the dorm to suddenly coming back home and being around here for awhile it's really tough. I got really used to going out whenever I wanted having people over whenever I wanted and all of that. I just really want to move out, but right now I know that it's financially irresponsible (especially since I'm trying to get back to school). The rest of them I feel like I'm okay with. I mean I guess I wish I was more athletic, but I think I'm naturally athletic I've just been too busy with work to really get back to it. I really dont think I care that much what people think of me, I mean everyone cares a little bit I don't care what they say, but most of the time I'm rediculous and off the wall anyway.

TASK1: “Rock The Vote”

Blake, Jamie, Jordan, Joshua and Veronica:

There are 5 of you left; one of you will be The Surviving Link.

Each of you have one vote to decide the following:

If you are one of the final two players--

Option A: Do you want the final vote to be a public poll in where you can see how many votes you and your opponent have accumulated?

OR

Option B: Would you prefer that the vote stay as is with observers pm-ing me their vote?

Majority rules so only 3 votes are needed for either Option A or Option B to decide this task.

As we all know, religion is a controversial and powerful subject.

If you could rewrite history and go back in time to initiate the concept of religion, what would you do differently to prevent religion from becoming, as it sometimes is, the root of war and bigotry?

Chat with you tomorrow!

B. I would be best served as the person left alone to come up with ideas that would hopefully rectify the situation.

Yeah I can picture myself formulating a brilliant plan and everyone praising my perfect solution  :p

Task 2

6. I lived on my own

I admire anyone who can make it on their own. I would like to test how well i would do being independent from my parents.

well, i dont know much about how it all became this way so i would have to say that i wont change anythng. i believe that everything is happening the way it is right now because we're supposed to learn from this. i mean, malaysia once had the war of the races but we learned from that and we live in peace now.i feel that it will be the same with the religion thing. it'll take a little longer because its happening on a grand scale.

Anyways, my answer to task 1:

I want the the poll to be private, cause I know if I was voting in the game I would not want the other persons feelings to be hurt by how many votes s/he didn't get. It's as easy as that for me :)

Jaime -- what did you think last night of AI? I was sadly disappointed and though Scott did a lot better than they gave him credit for even though I despise him :(

I love shopping -- problem is, I never have enough $$ to buy what I want. Sometimes I feel as though I use shopping as a crutch when I get depressed or feel like something is lacking in my life, so it's not always a good thing, even though I feel WAY better after I shop :D

The root of all religious problems comes from one side thinking they are right, and therefore superior than those that have different beliefs. If each religion eliminated this from their doctrine and stressed that all paths to God are the same and all religions are pathways to God, then I feel some of the worldwide stress caused by the religions in human history will have been decreased somewhat......or perhaps I'm just an eternal optimist and don't realize that human nature will always cause wars.

Stand up straight
Do your trick
Turn on the stars
Jupiter shines so bright
When you're around to tell us slow down,
We're too young you need to grow
The speed's the key
And they don't know who we are

Whos To Say - Vanessa Carlton

Thats actually on verse..the part with (Words) is the course inside of the verse..its hard to explain..

It relates to me by basically saying..like basically..people trying to tell people what to do..but the people not listening because they think they dont really know them..basically saying whos to say that I have to listen to them..

You here with me
