I wonder what Iveta is like. I think I watched her play before but don't recall much of it.

Anyone watched the match?

alexusjonesfan
Apr 14th, 2005, 08:16 PM
yeah, Iveta's been in a slump all year...she had lots of break points though, especially in that first set. Her serve didn't break 100mph until the first time Justine served for the match and all her serve speeds got added to Iveta's tallywhich was bizarre

So true. In my expert opinion, if Justine hits 70 or 80 aces and maintains a
128 mph. service speed average, she has a great chance of pulling off an upset...

"Maybe" take a set? :spit:....LMAO :rolls:

She (JuJu) just like Kimmy is claiming OWNAGE over Lindsay these days (or recent seasons). Don't forget that she beat Lindsay twice in straights just last year. She's been steadily improving and pursuing her A game (which is true best in the world caliber) these past 2 tournys. Add in the fact that she's currently a top, if not the Top Player in the world on clay, and I'd pretty much expect nothing less than another title this weekend. Honestly, I'll be surprised if she doesn't mop up Lindsey the next round. Sure, Lindsay's "HOT", just as she was after the semi at IW (remember "6-0,6-0"), but what can I say? The Belgiums are her nemesis (or have her #), and I can't see other wise until she beats'um these days.

Benesova seemed to be a little hurt in this match. She had her lower right leg wrapped tightly. Henin-Hardenne played 1,000 times better from yesterday. She moved well. She hit well. She served well. She mixed it up well. She stepped it up a level. Physically. Lindsay should be worried. Mentally. She's still the same. She stayed at the same level the whole match. She didn't up her game when Benesova upped hers. If Benesova got that last break in the second set, Henin-Hardenne might have lost that match. She'll have to be more mentally tough against Lindsay tommorrow.

She has struggled ALOT with Lindsay. The IW win was easy but that's the only one imo (or was there a w/o too? ). That final was one of the most incredible performances of Justine in her career, pure game-wise perfection was near.
She is still on the comeback-trail and is far from consistent or in excellent form. And that is necessary against Lindsay.
We don't know if Justine is a top player (on clay) right now, we'll see that today. I'm hoping with every fibre of my body, but I'm by no means sure of a win and certainly not a title!

Justine has never had easy matches against Dav, except maybe the perfect match @ IW last year.
Dav is very motivated and plays incredible these days. She's the clear favourite and I don't see Ju winning this match (yet).

BTW,

I really wish Justine wins this, as always, but i am not gonna be expecting too much from her here.
Lindsay is a tough, very tough opponent for Justine but then Justine can always pull-off an amazing game against top players especially those who she had beaten before.

I can see Justine doing an Athens performance against Myskina here.
a struggle but she will prevail nonetheless!!!

I guess not but then again. Her partner is Pschke who make a living off of doubles basically so why would you stop playing tennis unless she absolutely had to. Plus she played Navritilova in doubles. It's an honor to play the living legend any day. I watch Vaidisova stop for 3 minutes yesterday just admiring Navritilova on the practice courts. It's just amazing to see her out there playing with these 16 and 17 yo girls and still beating them. She was a little hurt though. She didn't move like she did against Zvorareva. In the end of the match against Justine, she just went all out for her shots. She'll be fine though. She just needs some rest after Charleston.
