I know Serena and Venus will be facing each other across the net in singles, but will they ever face each other in doubles.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have Serena and Venus with different partners in doubles?

Let's say Serena and Anna K against Venus and Lindsay.

Would tennis fans(other than Williams fans) view them in a different light?

Maybe King Richard doesn't allow this?

Interestng, why some people are so eager to bust up one of the better doubles teams in WTA history.

Maybe Stubbs should play with ANNA or maybe Stevenson and Hingis?

Fans should enjoy the dynamic WILLIAMS/WILLIAMS team instead of trying to bust it up.

I have seen them on opposite sides in doubles but it was MIXED Doubles in the french open.

I know what you mean Tee Rexx.
Isn't it funny how we always hear suggestions of our girls playing with other players? One would think that they have crappy records playing doubles.

So what are some of you saying that the sisters are too good to play with others on tour? Some things never change not even on this new board.

No, jakeev, YOU are saying SERENA and VENUS are better than the rest.

Some of us are saying that it is sometimes fun to play with:
1. A sibling
2. Your best friend
3. A 15 year doubles mate.
4. One of the best in the world
5. Someone who won't backstab you

Nuf' said?

From a personal viewpoint I would love to see Venus or Serena playing Doubles with one of my favorites.

Now I don't know how many of the catergories, listed by Tee Rexx, that Chanda & Liliah would fall into, but I'm positive that they would never stab anyone in the back.

Venus Says: "No thank you! I think I'll keep that big-legged gal, Serena Williams."

Did YOU know???

Did you know that the GREATEST doubles player in the world, Martina Navratilova, asked Serena Williams out for doubles once???

Serena Said "Sorry, I only play with my sister".

Jakeev , I don't think this is what is being implied here... I can understand why some fans would like the sisters to partner up with other players-- on the otherhand, the relationship between them is a sight to behold and should be appreciated...

Just go back and watch the prize presentation at the U.S. Open when Venus was in agony over her defeat of Lil Sis to win the trophy...

I just can't see them playing against each other unless in mixed doubles, or if it's absolutely necessary... After all , they're practicing the very family values that America wishes to attain... It just bothers me that there are those who wish to see them rip each other apart... Oh well c'est la vie!!!!

The one most attractive thing about the Williams sisters is their genuine love for each other. What a wonderful infredient for a doubles team. Please stay together.

Thank heavens Venus and Serena are Genuine, Exciting, Well Mannered, Gracious, Respectful, and Humble.

Unlike the vast majority of their fans.

Stan - I did not see any insults directed at you in any of the previous post.
You got some specific issue with certain people?
Please explain.

This thread has provided me with entertainment you can't even imagine! Anyway, speculation surrounds many doubles teams, so why not this one?

I don't see them ever playing doubles with anyone else, but who knows? It's fun to speculate. I'd love to see one of them team up with Navratilova at Wimbledon, because Martina certainly will not win another title there with Arantxa. Or, maybe at a Slam, one won't be playing, so the other will team up in doubles, maybe with Martina Hingis, or someone like Monica. It would be fun to see how they'd do!

When Venus could not play the Aussie Open in 2000, Serena said that she considered playing with Alexandra Stevenson, then changed her mind. Also, Serena teamed up with Mariaan DeSwardt in that World Team Tennis league where the two ladies won pretty easily.

Infiniti I have not seen a single post here that indicates anyone wants to see the sisters not comepete together.

It was simply suggested by Stanley that it would be interesting to see them matched up with other players.

And of course it was twisted into something else.....
