or more than likely, been dropped by their record label ? They had a huge debut single at the start of last summer, "On my Knees" and followed that up with another smash hit, "Dumb", which even featured on a SJP commercial. Then they released "Teardrops" in November which unexpectedly bombed in the charts and well their eagerly anticipated debut album failed to light up the charts too :( I've heard nothing from them yet this year which leads me to believe that they must have been dropped by their label or does anyone have any info on them? "Teardrops" was a super, if a rather slightly over-ambitious track to release as a single but the 411 were all about originality.

I never heard of the girl group but I was wondering if their song “Between The Sheets”(the title of their CD, too) is a remake of the Isleys classic. Anyone know?

 what a shame. They should have at least been given the chance to release another single.

I really liked their stuff. In an interview I was watching last week with Terri Walker, she said she hated them and that they were not popular with other R'n'B artists.

Their album didn't even hit the Top 50:(

Basically they have been dropped. Its the records company own fault they have really let the girls down. The album was great and if Sony had bothered to release it at the opportune time then they would probably still be around.

As for splitting up, the rumour is that one of the girls has left. But they are adament they will return with a diffrent sound.

 @ Terri Walker. Her "Whoopsie Daisy" song didn't exactly light the charts on fire :o She can't afford to go shooting her mouth off at other artists. Shame for 411 though coz I thought they had something special.Just weird though that after having a debut top 5 single, followed by a top 10 single and , yes ok, a "just about" top 30 3rd single that they get dropped so quickly. I think they should have released their album in the summer to have capitalized on their popularity then :( I hope they get re-signed to another label.

What people dont know about their first two singles are they were two of the biggest selling singles in 2004...and the label just gave up on them after one dud.

"On my Knees" had so much hype before it was released, everyone was expecting these girls to be huge. That was barely a year ago and look what has happened already in less than 12 months :o :o :o hmm, I checked their website a while ago and it looks like it hasn't been updated since last November, that pretty much says it all :fiery:

Well out of curiousity more than anything else, I bought their album today. Gonna see if it really did deserve to bomb or with better promotion, could it have been massive. i'll give my opinion later...

I have the cd... kind of... :tape:

I liked the tracks on it... don't understand why they were dropped while people like Hillary and Haylie Duff are around but mmmk. That's the business nowadays.

Hmmm, they were one of the better of those types of groups around so it's a shame if they're gone! "Teardrops" was a good song but it wasn't a patch on Portishead was it?!

I got the album for Christmas but I daren't say it's any good. It's not. It's strictly average fare throughout with only a couple of really standout tracks (i.e. Dumb and... actually that's it really)

The main problem I have with it is that the girls barely try when they sing. They don't sound as though they can sing high notes or ad lib and just... try! On My Knees is appalling for the sheer fact they talk all the way through it! Oh why oh why did they get so much hype?

Despite what Terri Walker thinks about then, I bought Terri's album the other day and it's bloody bloody marvellous. She's real talent. I wouldn't blame her for the chart position she got, there is this thing that record companies have to do and that's called PROMOTE the artists.

I think that was partly the reason why the 411 bombed with the last single. Granted, the album got plenty of exposure on TV adverts, but clearly the public had lost interest by then.
