Is anyone looking forward to it?

You can find trailers and clips here: http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2662469?htv=12

It's about the crusades. I believe 12th century. A Frankish peasant boy (Bloom) who becomes a knight and leads the armies to the crusades. It's directed by Ridley Scott (Gladiator).

I'm excited. :)

The moment I heard that a movie was going to be made about the Crusades I had a feeling that Hollywood would mess up with it. Instead of having Christians fighting against Muslims you have Christians fighting amongst themselves. Now I don't say that did not happen but I wonder if they will show Christian forces fighting against Saladdin's army which was the main thing that happened during that period. But Hollywood likes to have a bad guy in the story. Obviously it can't be the Muslims for political correctness which is good. But it will be the Christian main forces who will be deemed as 'evil' whereas Orlando Bloom will be the renegade Christian force and will be the goodie goodie. I rather that there would be no evil forces and simply show Christian forces fighting against Muslim forces without one side being viewed as bad.

There were four crusades so Saladin doesn't have to be in this.

Also, in one of the crusades (I think the last one), the Christians sacked Constantinople. So there was infighting.

To tell you the truth, I know very little about this film so I won't say anything about it but I am looking forward to it.

I'm not really looking foward to it. Since Troy, King Arthur and Alexander were such disappointments. And I just don't buy Orlando Bloom in that kinda role. Also, eventhough it's Ridley Scott, I doub't it'll be as good as Gladiator.

But I do like Eva Green. She was really good in The Dreamers. But I usually watch all of the summer blockbusters, so I'd still end up watching. :)
