With Shinobu's win over Myskina, she takes over Ai as Japan's top player. Congrats to her!

Yes, I love this girl. It's been nice seeing her come through the rankings for the past few years. I started really cheering for Shinobu when both she and Ai upset Amanda Coetzer and Sandrine Testud respectively in the second round to reach the Quarters in Tokoyo, 2001. The look of pure joy on her face after that win was priceless! I fell in love with her at that moment, and have been a fan since!

Well done Shinobu! Continued luck to you and Ai! :)

I met her in Auckland this year and fell in love with her! She's not that confident with her English, but what she does say, makes alot of sense. I really hopes she comes back to Auckland next year, because she was a crowd fav. Great stuff Shinobu!

I've met Shinobu a couple of times, and I love her so much!! I first saw her live when she beat Dani at Wimbledon in 2003!! :worship: Fantastic match, she was a real crowd favourite and SOOO happy to win that match!! She's had a great year and I'm so happy to see her as Japanese no.1!!! She deserves it, and I hope she can beat nadia (its 1 set all!) GO Shinobu!!
