View Full Version : What's the book out on you?

Every player has their strengths and weaknesses. The book out on Venus says she covers the court amazing well and hits deep and penetrating on both sides, but if it's 4 all in the final set, definitely go to that forehand side. I thought it would be interesting to find out what the book out on you says. Mine is the forehand is definitely my better shot , a lot of my winners and very few erros come from that side, my backhand is solid, but it's the place to go if I'm off or it's a close match. I hate to volley off my backhand side (unless it's a swing volley) and the best way to beat me is to hit to me with no pace. I have a hard time controlling the ball especially on the backhand side when there's nothing on it. :)

Hit to my backhand and wait for me to fold...mentally :tape:

Hit to the forehand side...at any point during the match. And kill that short, high ball.

Moonball me.

Out of boredom, I'll start going for every shot.

Then I'll never play with you again. :p

Same here...Moonballs make me roll down on the fllor of anger!

My book would say to hit on the forehand, cause it is shaky and attack the second serve!

For me I play almost exactly like Venus so go to my forhand and you may be lucky.

Overpower my ass. Or, hit occasional short balls with heavy slice- then smack a winner off a weak reply.

make me serve while I'm nervous
or piss me off that I cant hit a decent shot anymore which makes me go even more mad and tank :tape:

Use Variety and mix up placement. If you just hit from the baseline i will overpower and outhit you if you can mix it up and give me different shots i hate it and if you can get me on the run i start to make errors and get angry.

Make me volley..For a top 25 Israeli tennis player you wouldnt expect me to run from a volley..it was w traumatic time when I was a kid..I get hit in the nose with a ball..and hated volleing since :p

I go to net on any short ball.

I close up tight on the net.

I am vulnerable to topspin lobs.

My forehand is solid, and the shot I tend to play when it gets tight. My backhand is solid too, and when I'm on form stay away from it. I will kill you with it. I do have trouble with slow paced serves, where I tend to hit long coming in to return. Bring me to the net, I'm a baseliner, but can hit solid volleys and cover the net well in doubles. In singles I'm in no mans land. I will scramble and run for everything a la Kim CLIJSTERS :)

God I should turn pro! Lol

The book on me is "Coping With Loss" by the Bagel Brothers.

In my tennis matches, any rally longer than four balls ends with a failed drop shot attempt.
