my two staple shots:

1.flattened out cross court, one-handed backhand on a short ball. (I would sit glued to my tv for hours watching Justine re-grip, run up, and smash those short balls away! I got it down pretty good now!)

2. when stretched out wide on the ad side, i love to hit my cross court topspin backhand. the opponent is usually waiting for a slice to come back but i rip that ball and get them off their rhythm...

1. backhand slice (it´s the only shot I can really do well...ball doesn´t bounce at all)
2. serve (FIRST SERVE! not second!...second one is embaressing)

I don´t like all the other shots

We have two choices?

1. FH and BH short angeled cross court passing shot (my favourite shot on both wings..... Very strong and mostly placed very well)!
2. Drop Shot (love to use it; pretty strong)

I also like my cross-court and FH longline strokes, BH slice is very stable, I don't feel comfortable at BH down-the-line sometimes. Serve very good. Netgame average, although I try to improve that a lot. Lob good, too.

Weakness No. 1: HALF-COURT BALLS!!!!!

My forehand crosscourt. I usually take my forehand pretty high so it comes as a surprise and usually I get a pretty good angle off it.

The next shot is probably my backhand down the line. I love hitting that shot. It's generallly better if i hit it right of a return as opposed to in a rally.

FH down the line......whip it cross court pull em out wide, then hit a forehand down the line, i find a nice angle on my backhand which is very useful also.

Two-handed forehand- down the line... I can hit that shot with a lot of pace and pretty good accuracy and since I have a two handed forehand often times people can't tell which direction I'm going to to go...

Good first serve...

Unfortunately my strengths are about equal to my weaknesses, which neutralizes them. I'm soooooooo weak off my backhand side (I usually slice) and if my first serve doesn't go in- I'm a goner!

Crushing a two-handed backhand down the line.

My 2 handed backhand is by far my best shot. I can crush it down the line or crosscourt.

My drop shot has gotten pretty good too & my volleys are improving. ( I hit a stab volley yesterday that landed barely on the other side of the net & died w/o a bounce:))

forehand on the run down the line is really my best shot, which is strange since forehand is by far my weaker side ;)

My passing shots. Everyone, backhand-forehand-crosscourt-down-the-line (especially!)

It seems like that when the opponent comes to net, it makes me do my greatest shots!

Wannabeknowitall

1.) Top spinned crosscourt forehand.
2) Flat down the line two handed backhand.
3) Inside-out top spin forehand.

To be honest they are my only weapons. If one them is off I'm screwed.

My bread shot: the slice

My butter shot: the (b)lob

To finish them off I like to serve right down the tea  and celebrate with a nice bowl of "C'mon"-flakes.

Forehand crosscourt, usually with a sudden massive injection of pace :)

Drop shots.

Oddly, my forehand slice is much more effective than my backhand slice, which generally goes into the net :o

Backhand crosscourt for sure.I only miss really when i go for a shot with it and it misses by an inch or 2.Usually it makes it though.

down the line forehand on the run and sharp lefty angle crosscourt from anywhere in the court.

serve/backhand hand dropshot can be inspired one day or hideous the next.

i'm patty schnyder.

no i actually play nothing like her - only the fact we are both lefties and have the tendency to use drop shots as an integral part of our game. it's a great tactic against people who don't like coming forward and when you have pretty good passes.

You stole my answer! I love leaving the other player flat-footed waiting for a cross-court while I nail a 2-handed forehand down the line. :D

It's tough for ME personally to say what I think my biggest strengths are because I'm so critical of my game, but I think I can break mine down.

1) My bread and butter serve is the out wide FLAT serve... when I go for it on a first serve, I hardly ever miss. Then again, I love to rip it up the middle as well. I can place my serve on a dime (thank you daddy and good coaches :p) but I can really go for that power up the "T." Ahh, I can still remember hitting my hardest "clocked" serve up the "T" in a match... 119 mph. I love serving. :)

2) My two-handed backhand is the stronger of my groundstrokes. I can do pretty much anything with it, but my favorite shot to hit (and the one that took me the longest to "master") is when I'm pulled out wide on the backhand and my opponent comes to net. I LOVE hooking the backhand up the line for the pass while on the run. Oh the drama.

3) I'm known for my power but I personally like to show finesse on the court. I love coming to net and putting away volleys, I love executing random drop shots, and I absolutely ADORE the topspin lob off of the backhand side. 'Tis a fun shot. :)

It depends.

Either serve, forehand, or backhand...it varies from match to match, they just never seem to click together.

my favorite shot to hit is a running forehand down the line with super topspin and the finish over my head, i dont know, but the swing feels so natural

my bread and butter shot though is my crosscourt forehand, nice and flat and struck cleanly with popwer, then i like to follow it in, and then volley into the open court... i have a great net game for doubles, but i have been working on getting in during singles play

1.) I have caused some gasps with my swinging volleys (and that's not because they're awful  ).

2.) Running down drop-shots. I ALWAYS return them down the line.

FH and BH volley.

one-handed BH CC or DTL.

serve is utter crap.i've been playing for years and i still never know which part of the box my serve is going to land (if it lands in that is).

my two-handed FH is good if i hit hard but the thing is that i tend to hit it hard down the middle (which is good in doubles but death in singles) and when i try to go for the lines, i tend to net it. so i normally just chip it back.

forehand over the net and off the noggin of the opponent.

i heart backhand
Apr 7th, 2005, 07:29 PM
Forehand cross court.

I'm also quite successful with a big first serve out wide, followed up by a big cross-court shot (forehand or backhand, depending on whether it's deuce or ad court).

As for me, it is the forehand that does the damage, almost flat or heavy top, crosscourt, dtl, or inside out.

Ask selesfan70, or his roommate...although we've only played once

It goes w/out saying that da forehand has a very good forehand...short crosscourt and dtl...inside out backhand .topspin lobs forehand and backhand...Serve lefty hook

When im not on the run and i have my feet planted and in position

1. Forehand cross court- Power Flat and paints the lines
2. Backhand down the line- Can change direstion with ease and great power
