This "stat" is from the same tournament that had the service boxes 2 feet short a few years ago...on BOTH SIDES! :haha:

Regardless...ALLEZ, Mary! :D

All I am worrying is about Eleni's performance, look at the stats of her...no comment..winning only 15 points to Mary's 42 :tape:

even if it isn't correct - only mary can make it seem true.
she's the "yes, i'm back from the brink, again" girl of the tour.

yep...that was a blast!!! But still, you would think with that huge serve, she should do better than this. Come on Nastya, use your terrific gigantic serve to capture the third set, please. Canīt be that hard, aces, service winner en masse

Oh it's the Amelia Island magic. I remember that a few years ago Patty Schnyder beat Patty Schnyder 6-1 6-0. Or at least the website told so.

well too bad she's just a brainless basher with a gigantic serve. same with patty, she served a 269mph bomb a couple of years back, but because she has nothing to back it up with, she keeps losing

My guess is somebody put mph when the meant kph.

Otherwise Lena really needs to get some service tips from Nasty.

mmm, mary won 42 points??? even if you win 6-0 6-0 and no games go to deuce, you still would have won 48 points......

really poor stats, and actually, the service boxes were 1m (3 feet) too short a couple of years back and the players carried on without really saying anything. after the match, the court was measured and the error noticed

No; this can't be right. On the BBC website this article was posted RE the match. It doesn't mention fast serving records; something it would definately do for a record this ridiculously big.

The article:
Myskina stumbles into third round

Third seed Anastasia Myskina moved into the third round of the Bausch & Lomb Championship in Florida with a three-set win over Shahar Peer.
Myskina, who has struggled for form this year, beat the unseeded Israeli 6-2 3-6 6-3 and next meets Shinobu Asagoe, who beat Lisa Raymond 7-5 6-3.

Fellow Russians Vera Zvonareva and Elena Likhovtseva had three-set wins over Shuai Peng and Gisela Dulko.

Fourteenth seed Mary Pierce thrashed Eleni Daniilidou 6-0 6-2.

Jelena Jankovic, seeded 11, thrashed Spanish veteran Conchita Martinez 6-0 6-3.

Some of you all are so gullible. Some people are acting as if they really believe this. Everyone in their right mind should know that this is a typo. That's all it is. It's a typo, or simply a joke.

Btw, if I'm not mistaken Venus has the fastest womens serve record at this time at 127mph and Roddick has the mens at 155mph. That said...How in the H#LL could the before mentioned be true?!! ..Exactly..

What velocity are we talking about here? Is it the velocity
- right off the racquet?
- over the net?
- or on landing?

See, the value can be different depending on where you measure the velocity. I suppose a value of 150 mph may be possible right off the racquet (though I doubt it).
:)

Andy Roddick wet his pants when he heard about her 150mph serve!
