The stars of Desperate Housewives (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0410975/) turned into desperate divas on the set of their Vanity Fair cover shoot when Marcia Cross (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0189220/) took offense at the star treatment lavished on Golden Globe-winner Teri Hatcher (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000159/).
According to writer Ned Zeman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1399637/), who was present when the bust-up occurred, Cross "lost it" when Hatcher was moved into the center of the group shot, despite publicists' demands that photographers treat cast members as equals. Zeman says, "ABC (TV) publicity demanded that, in all the different set-ups that the women would be posed for photographs, Teri Hatcher (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000159/) absolutely was not to be in the center of the women.
There had been some tension on the set over who's getting the awards and who's getting most of the magazine covers - that would be Teri Hatcher." And when Hatcher seemed to be taking over the shoot, through no fault of her own, Cross showed off her fiery side. Zeman adds, "She screamed (the publicist's) name and said, in essence, 'I want you to get over here and do your bleeping job...' Then she launched into this profanity-laced tirade. Teri was most visibly upset and got very emotional and was tearing up and was on her cell phone seeking comfort from someone." Hatcher insists the spat has been blown out of proportion: "However it comes off, I believe that everyone is as grateful to be on the show as I am."
Meanwhile, cast mate Eva Longoria (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0519456/) claims the fight was sparked by over-the-top primping and preening: "They forget we just shot a 16-hour day the day before and when someone's tweaking every little hair, it's like, 'Stop touching us, just shoot the picture.'"

Funny, I didn't read anything in that article about Hatcher atcing up.

I don't doubt that someone wrote this, but I do doubt that this factual. I can't remember what Entertainment show I was watching and Teri Hatcher was going on about how the Media keeps making up all these fights that have never happened.

they all seem to like each other too much which suggests acting.

marcia cross couldn't be just acting in her role as amanda on melrose place - watch out terri because she'll run you over or blow up whatever the place is called they live in on that show!!

is it really surprising terri hatcher gets more attention. i mean marcia cross and the other mother are better actresses but terri was much more famous previously despite her lack of recent roles and used to be hot (still is but in an older way). she's certainly the only big name on that show even though marcia is obviously a very well done face.

It's been all over the news - I think ABC went as far as to comment on this.

ABC also commented on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. ;)

Well, I didn't mean to imply that whatever ABC say is true. ;) I just said that it's probably a publicity stunt. But, anyway, I did read that they commented on it, which could be a lie as well.

Rightfully so!!! That lady is sexy as hell! Women over 40 rule!!!

It was a matter of time  There are stars who just turn me off, no matter how good their show is. I dunno what it is about Teri Hatcher who not too long ago was deemed a hasbeen in hollywood, but I can't stand the woman. ---all this over exposure is driving me nuts  I don't particularly care for Marcia either, but I can understand her gripe if there's any truth to this. They all make the show what it is-- why is one worthy of all the attention? It's kinda like the way the media treats Beyonce and Destiny's Child UGH :fiery:

I like Teri Hatcher. She won a Golden Globe for the show. I think she deserves a little star treatment. I don't believe this story at all. Marcia Cross doesn't seem the type of person who would involve herself with petty jealousies. In fact, I don't think any of the main four cast members care about that sort of thing. All of them know that they would not be experiencing success without the others.

Marcia, or should I call you, Marchayourstankassofftheset? Save that crap for someone who cares. Instead of making a bellligernt ass of yourself why not go to Terri and say, "hey. lets put so and so in the middle and mix things up a bit. God knows we could use some of that light your getting."

Terri seems down to earth in all the interviews i've seen her do. Maybe she would have said no and then hey why not go postal but she should have gone to Terri first.

Stories like this are never printed about mostly male casts. I guess they like to keep the status quo in check. ;)

All those drag queens are jealous of Teri cuz she is the only real woman on the show!

:inlove: "I Love You Teri Hatcher" :inlove:

Eva Longoria is NO drag queen... :hearts: She played a really bad character on "The Young and The Restless" (an American daytime drama...and the best one, by the way), but I saw she was a gorgeous woman back then!

Everyone that I know that watches this show...absolutely hates Teri Hatcher's idiotic character and loves Marcia Cross' and Nicolette Sheridan's characters. A great many people are not watching this show for Hatcher. In fact....a lot wish she would be killed off.

Susan is a pain in the ass, and Edie and Bri kick total ass. Regardless, Teri plays a great pain in the ass. ;)

The Globe was for best comedy role, and Susan does a lot of slapstick blah, that the others don't. So although I'd rather see Marcia get the prizes, I understand why Teri is.

I think so too; but hey I love Marcia Cross- she's got the
difficult role on that show. She's a better actress than Teri
Hatcher! (Take that! Slap!)

I think Teri Hatcher is endearing. Marcia Cross is a great actress.
I wonder if egos are actually flaring up. If so it just seems really childish and petty.

One of the most hilarious moments in TV history when Kimberly tried the blow up Melrose Place .

Marcia Cross looked much better then, she should lose the red hair.

Not that this has anything to do with this thread - aside from if Marcia looked better I might watch it.

That's funny because everyone I know loves her character and finds her endearing considering that all the other housewives are so bitchy. Actually, I think Teri's character provides a balance that the show needs because her character is such a nice person. Cross' character is too severe and judgmental. Huffman's character is too neurotic. Langoria's character is a selfish bitch and Sheridan's character is an obvious slut. Having said that, I love the show because it shows all sides of a woman's character and I think every actress brings that to the table.

I feel sorry for Teri because she is being put into a bad position. Right now, the media is focusing on her because she is the proverbial comeback kid. No one would have ever expected Teri Hatcher to become a prime time actress again. Plus, she does seem like a really nice person and so that further endears her to the press and public. I'm sure that all the accolades that Hatcher receives does cause jealousy on the show since it is an ensemble piece. Personally? I think the creator of the show and ABC cooked up this publicity stunt to increase the show's ratings.

BTW, I would love to see more of Edie, especially her interactions with Susan are hilarious!
