No 1 Player on Best Form - the serious poll.

Let's imagine that all the players are in their best form. Who do you think would be #1 in that case?

Maria at her best can pretty well take on anyone at their best. Kim Serena and Justine are pretty hot on their day too. But I'll stick with Maria to make it to No. 1.

I made the same mistake as Venus+Serena#1fan.

Kim is right now but at all their peaks it is either Serena or Henin-Hardenne.

I would say either Serena or Justine. But as a Jufan, I had to go for my fave.....sorry!

Venus or Serena have the least glaring weaknesses when playing thier best

Sharapova was double bagelled,,,when she was in form...she was off her game in that match but was also pushed off her game during the match...she's dq'd.

Kim is doing great but has had trouble beating anyone named Williams

Lindsay is killer when her serve and returns are allowing her to step into the court for that first strike, but is vulnerable when you get it back and put her on the run.

Justine, is good, but can't touch Williams on anything but clay. If she can when will she prove it?

Sorry but Venus had some very glaring weaknesses even playing her best : Forehand and second serve.
Some of her forehands against Sharapova were really all bu pretty.

I reckon Maria has far more potenial and she does hold the #1 ranking so far this yr.

If we were talking aout the Men, I would not vote for Henman tho he's my fave, I'd vote for Federer. But it's so much closer in the WTA that everyone's fave in their eyes will be naturally in the #1 spot if they play their best.

I think its reallly a toss up between The Williams sisters and Sharapova and only because Maria was at her best during the Australian Open ( I think) and Serena still was able to fight and beat her not playing HER best game so in order its probably Serena then Sharapova then Venus even though I love Venus she just has more things that can hurt her i think then she has strengths

It's between the Williams sisters. When at the top of their level their games cancel each other other. I picked Venus but it's really a toss of a coin between the two! Lindsay and Justine will be next.

I totally agree. I made this poll yesterday with players who held that spot ( at http://www.wtaworld.com/showthread.php?t=159814), but we have some kind of copycats around here. :toothy: There was no Sharapova in it, because she is now at her best, and she is ranked as 3rd. And Sharapova fans tryed to insult me becouse off that, but it is the thrue. :confused:

Many times on Eurosport I've heard the comentators saying: "When Serena is at her best, SHE IS THE BEST". Who needs more than that to realise that she is the best, when she is playing like we all know that she is able to? :worship:
