Let's imagine that all the players are in their best form. Who do you think would be #1 in that case?
No 1 Player on Best Form - the serious poll.xan Apr 5th, 2005, 01:50 PM Let's imagine that all the players are in their best form. Who do you think would be #1 in that case? syd Apr 5th, 2005, 01:52 PM Justine xan Apr 5th, 2005, 01:57 PM Sorry. I put Kim in twice and can't edit the poll.............. Szymanowski Apr 5th, 2005, 01:59 PM Sorry. I put Kim in twice and can't edit the poll.............. Idiot.........;) lol no worries :wavey: Chunchun Apr 5th, 2005, 02:02 PM boring!! le bon vivant Apr 5th, 2005, 02:12 PM Everybody's respective favorite, no doubt. beauty_is_pink Apr 5th, 2005, 02:33 PM Kim :) Yasmine Apr 5th, 2005, 02:35 PM Why is Kim twice? :p griffin Apr 5th, 2005, 03:00 PM Why is Kim twice? :p Whatchootalkin about Kim twice? ;) Doc Apr 5th, 2005, 03:07 PM Maria at her best can pretty well take on anyone at their best. Kim Serena and Justine are pretty hot on their day too. But I'll stick with Maria to make it to No. 1. Venus+Serena#1fan Apr 5th, 2005, 03:09 PM woops. Voted for Kim cuz i thought they meant now, not if everyone was at their best. Serena no question. selyoink Apr 5th, 2005, 03:28 PM I made the same mistake as Venus+Serena#1fan. Kim is right now but at all their peaks it is either Serena or Henin-Hardenne. Smackie Apr 5th, 2005, 05:34 PM I would say either Serena or Justine. But as a Jufan, I had to go for my fave.....sorry! DA FOREHAND Apr 5th, 2005, 05:49 PM Venus or Serena have the least glaring weaknesses when playing thier best Sharapova was double bagelled,,,when she was in form...she was off her game in that match but was also pushed off her game during the match...she's dq'd. Kim is doing great but has had trouble beating anyone named Williams Lindsay is killer when her serve and returns are allowing her to step into the court for that first strike, but is vulnerable when you get it back and put her on the run. Amelie? LOL Justine, is good, but can't touch Williams on anything but clay. If she can when will she prove it? Dementiava? Eight month layoff still receives two breadsticks in a major final... Molik...too slow...and backhand to easy to compromise SJW Apr 5th, 2005, 05:57 PM a serious Q...but Maria has never been number one so i'd like to know why you think she'd be #1 at her best? surely it would have made more sense for the poll to have been made up of players who've actually held that spot. btw you should have just done a "who's your favourite player in this poll?" thread. would have been easier. :) Mercredi Apr 5th, 2005, 06:00 PM [QUOTE=DA FOREHAND]Venus or Serena have the least glaring weaknesses when playing thier best ..................... QUOTE] Sorry but Venus had some very glaring weaknesses even playing her best : Forehand and second serve. Some of her forehands against Sharapova were really all bu pretty. Szymanowski Apr 5th, 2005, 06:07 PM a serious Q...but Maria has never been number one so i'd like to know why you think she'd be #1 at her best? surely it would have made more sense for the poll to have been made up of players who've actually held that spot. btw you should have just done a "who's your favourite player in this poll?" thread. would have been easier. :) I reckon Maria has far more potenial and she does hold the #1 ranking so far this yr. If we were talking aout the Men, I would not vote for Henman tho he's my fave, I'd vote for Federer. But it's so much closer in the WTA that everyone's fave in their eyes will be naturally in the #1 spot if they play their best. E. Blackadder Apr 5th, 2005, 06:25 PM I think it would either be Justine or Serena Lemonskin. Apr 5th, 2005, 08:43 PM They're all fantabulous! :p -Kieron- Apr 5th, 2005, 08:47 PM Venus Williams or Clijsters Denise4925 Apr 5th, 2005, 08:47 PM a serious Q...but Maria has never been number one so i'd like to know why you think she'd be #1 at her best? surely it would have made more sense for the poll to have been made up of players who've actually held that spot. btw you should have just done a "who's your favourite player in this poll?" thread. would have been easier. :) Well, it looks like either people are being very honest in this poll or there are a lot of fans who support Serena. Serena of course. No brainer. :rocker: Denise4925 Apr 5th, 2005, 08:49 PM I reckon Maria has far more potenial and she does hold the #1 ranking so far this yr. Maria Croft Apr 5th, 2005, 08:57 PM boring!! Is that because Elena has 0 votes ?? Denise4925 Apr 5th, 2005, 08:59 PM Is that because Elena has 0 votes ?? :tape:  LUXXXAS Apr 5th, 2005, 09:18 PM Venus! SzavayFi Apr 5th, 2005, 09:21 PM Hmm Serena. If she isnt missing she hits harder than everyone combined. Lemonskin. Apr 5th, 2005, 09:21 PM  Did I miss something? It's true. She's #1 in the Race. Denise4925 Apr 5th, 2005, 09:23 PM It's true. She's #1 in the Race. Championships Race, right? Not the rankings. :p .Ivan. Apr 5th, 2005, 10:19 PM I think its reallly a toss up between The Williams sisters and Sharapova and only because Maria was at her best during the Australian Open ( I think) and Serena still was able to fight and beat her not playing HER best game so in order its probably Serena then Sharapova then Venus even though I love Venus she just has more things that can hurt her i think then she has strengths Barrie_Dude Apr 5th, 2005, 10:22 PM Have to go with Momo here ~Cherry*Blossom~ Apr 5th, 2005, 10:25 PM It's between the Williams sisters. When at the top of their level their games cancel each other other. I picked Venus but it's really a toss of a coin between the two! Lindsay and Justine will be next. alexusjonesfan Apr 5th, 2005, 10:27 PM Other: Alex :hearts: and if you don't believe me ask her yourself or her mom or whatever :tape: fifiricci Apr 5th, 2005, 10:28 PM Everybody's respective favorite, no doubt. Wrong! I voted for Sharapova! Cos I think she is gonna whoop everyone pretty soon ....... Denise4925 Apr 6th, 2005, 12:15 AM Looks like Serena is still winning this poll. Kart Apr 6th, 2005, 12:20 AM Other: Alex :hearts: :worship: :drive: UDiTY Apr 6th, 2005, 12:20 AM I voted Serena but am surprised more people haven't voted for Lindsay. It's all about first strike tennis, and Lindsay would kill off serve and return. faboozadoo15 Apr 6th, 2005, 12:23 AM amy frazier... end of discussion. it's not about who plays their best at their best, it's about consistently being at a high level and getting the job done. PaulieM Apr 6th, 2005, 12:27 AM I reckon Maria has far more potenial and she does hold the #1 ranking so far this yr. F-R-E-A-K Apr 6th, 2005, 12:27 AM Hmmm ... Serena & Venus = William's sister playing great = #1 & #2! volta Apr 6th, 2005, 12:29 AM the Sisters even Nick (the one that has that tennis accademy i never know how to write his last name LOL) said it so. he said to BBC that if Vee and Rena go to their pick and satrt to feel hungry for titles again no1 could manage to stop them CJ07 Apr 6th, 2005, 12:35 AM Venus and Serena VeeReeDavJCap81 Apr 6th, 2005, 01:05 AM Serena...and Venus closely following. Lindsay is pretty deadly when she's on as well. JenFan75 Apr 6th, 2005, 01:08 AM Jen. CanadianBoy21 Apr 6th, 2005, 01:09 AM Serena. No way ANYONE can come close to her at her best. She serves incredible, and returns amazing. Even when she plays horrible she is very tough to beat. CanadianBoy21 Apr 6th, 2005, 01:10 AM oh, yeah, and I forgot to mention the most important thing. She is the best fighter out there there ever was. That is why she is my favourite. Dasha_ Apr 6th, 2005, 08:49 AM a serious Q...but Maria has never been number one so i'd like to know why you think she'd be #1 at her best? surely it would have made more sense for the poll to have been made up of players who've actually held that spot. btw you should have just done a "who's your favourite player in this poll?" thread. would have been easier. :) I totally agree. I made this poll yesterday with players who held that spot ( at http://www.wtaworld.com/showthread.php?t=159814), but we have some kind of copycats around here. :toothy: There was no Sharapova in it, because she is now at her best, and she is ranked as 3rd. And Sharapova fans tryed to insult me becouse off that, but it is the thrue. Many times on Eurosport I've heard the comentators saying: "When Serena is at her best, SHE IS THE BEST". Who needs more than that to realise that she is the best, when she is playing like we all know that she is able to? :worship: andrewbroad Apr 9th, 2005, 11:36 PM Monica Seles (currently sidelined due to a stress-fracture in her left foot) -- Dr. Andrew Broad http://www.geocities.com/andrewbroad/ (http://www.geocities.com/andrewbroad/) http://www.geocities.com/andrewbroad/tennis/ (http://www.geocities.com/andrewbroad/tennis/) http://www.geocities.com/andrewbroad/tennis/seles/ (http://www.geocities.com/andrewbroad/tennis/seles/) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/selesians/ (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/selesians/) bandabou Apr 9th, 2005, 11:44 PM I think Serena's 02-' 03 form really should answer the question.. Tati & Dani Apr 9th, 2005, 11:46 PM Justine Henin-Hardenne chitchat Apr 10th, 2005, 01:42 AM Venus by a mile! that's if by some miracle, she gets as hungry and willful as her younger sister or Sharapova.... :o | |
