Today marks the end of Jen's amazing run of being in the top 10. She was there dating back to her 2001 Australian Open win! Quite an achievement! Hope she comes back stronger than ever and starts and new streak in the top 10:)

Nice one jenny, its a shame you had to drop out of the top ten due to injury but come back soon better than ever! (also zvonareva is the top ten is ridiculous she's done absolutely nothing all year.)

She WILL get back up.

As long as she comes back a la Kim Clijsters - she can get back to the Top10 no problem. She does have big points in Berlin, Rome, Wimbledon and the US Open - hopefully she comes back to defend them.

How can she be ranked so high after this long lay off ????? She doesn't seem to have ANY points to defend in the first half of the season, her rank points just don't drop for some reason...

kind of amazing to think that when she hasn't played for so long, or really won a title in ages, it really is quite an achievement to be ranked in the top 10 for so long. :)

Reminds me of David Nalbandian.

I thought Jen would be ready for the clay season. So sad we won't see her until after Wimbledon, maybe. I hope she picks Toronto as her comeback tournament. She always does so well here.

The reason jen stayed in the top ten so long this year without playing was because she missed the beggining of last season with injury aswell, its a shame really but she'll be able to pick up so many points at the beggining of next year. i was hoping she'd be back by roland garros, us openm thats a shocker if shes not back till then, i miss her.

Your thoughts about Jenny are good but why the attack on Zvon.? When You think about it Jenny has done bugger all all year as well,so did should She have stepped down from the ten sooner? it makes My mind think back to Their last match instead of completely agreeing with You!

Capriati wasn't already in the Top 10 when she won the '01 Aus Open?

Jen went into the tournament as the number 14 in the world. Due to a couple of withdrawals (?), she was seeded 12th. I believe she was the lowest seed to win since Chris O'Neill won it when she was unseeded.

If Jen can only come back for the US Open, I can only wonder what the rest of her seasn will ential. I mean, immediately after is the part of the season she hates the most - indoors, so coming back for the Open seems a little all or nothing. Not that I'm suggesting she shouldn't bother, but she may go into the indoor swing this year actually trying to win the odd match.

And as for her dropping like a stone, some of us remember Jen either without a ranking or down at 267th in the world. She's been in worse positions than out of the top 10. I just hope, like any player, she gets to play as long as she wants, not when her body gives up.

Way to go Jen!!! That is a great accomplishment staying in the top 10 for all those years! Too bad an injury is what forces you out. But you will make your comeback look just that more impressive!!

I really hope she plays the US Open. I don't think I can wait 2 years for her to play there again. Come back strong and soon Jen!!! :)
