She should be able to get to the semis. If she doesn't it will be a big disappointment for me. No one in her path to the quarters is at her level. I have finally given up on Petrova so I think Jankovic would be the toughest opponent but she has lost early quite often this year.

I would love for her to get to the Semi's (then I could see her on TV) but if she gets that far she might as well win it!

Come On Nastya, let's win this! :bounce:

The draw doesn't look too tough.
I hope she can make it right to the final, which I think is possible if she plays the way she did in the beginning of the second set against Kim in Miami. I hope she can get some consistency in her game, and if she can, everything is possible !!!
Gooooooooo Nastya, start your winning streak

Myskina rolled through the first set in 20 minutes, holding her service at love in her first three serves and breaking Peer's serve at love in the eighth game.

The second set was nothing like the first. Peer broke Myskina in the first and third games and held her own service twice to jump out to a 4-0 lead en route to a win.

"I played really well that first set, but then I got a little bored," Myskina said. "I was thinking, when is this match going to finish, and the next thing I knew I was down 4-love. When you're down 4-love it's hard to come back.

"In the third set I started playing a little smarter."

Myskina returned to her normal game in the third set. She broke Peer three times in the final set, including the ninth game, which she won after Peer made three consecutive errors.

Myskina said she's experiencing pain in her shoulder, which affects her serving.

"It's bothered me for a couple years now," she said. "I don't want to have surgery on it. I've had one and that's enough for me. I'll get use to playing with the pain, I'll be fine with it."

Myskina will next meet Shinobu Asagoe, a straight-set winner over Lisa Raymond on Wednesday.

Well I am very happy that Myskina won, but you shouldn't get bored. :o

I also don't like the idea of her playing in pain.

Anyways, good luck in the next round Nastya! Win! :bounce:

What is wrong with her shoulder?
I tought she had surgery on her wrist a couple of years ago. But apparently, she had also had surgery on her shoulder and in GM somebody said something about jaw surgery!! What is going on??? Is she falling apart in pieces???

Anyway, I wish her all the best in her match vs Asagoe. I hope she can win and that she can play a painless match !!

Goooooooooo Nastya :bounce:

It´s her shoulder blade. It´s kinda like sticks too far out. However e.g., I am in treatment for my shoulder for months now because of inflammation and wrong shoulder constellation and I am not supposed to move my arm (and it certainly hurts!)...I don´t know how she does it, there´s a too huge risk getting a complete tear of the rotator cuff, but well, it´s her decision. Actually Tommy Haas had a complete tear which was the reason he was out for nearly two years (incl. surgery). My doctor told me I was not supposed to do any sport or upper arm movement at all. I remember her saying that she had a small tear in Indian Wells 2004, so she had this condition for a long time ...it can´t be healthy.
