This month, the top Chinese girls will return to the WTA tour after taking time off in March to participate in the national games (won by Peng). As they set foot on the green and red dirt, the Chinese record of WTA Ranking #36 is well within reach. Peng has a real opportunity to move up before Li starts her clay season in Estoril.

Li Na

IMO either Li Na or Shuai Peng will break the magical ranking barrier of #36 first but then the other will break it as well. They will then push each other for the rest of the season to set the bar even higher :worship:

I dunno if it's so closely planned where they tell them where to play, but they are very strict. I don't think that Shuai is subject to this however as she is living and has been living in the US for a while now.

Good luck to all of them:) Although it wouldn't kill me if Peng got there first:)

Is Peng still an amatuer? That is what her profile says at wtatour.com

I thought the Chinese girls weren't returning until after Wimbledon?

I've never watched Li Na or Shuai Peng play, but I watched Jie Zheng play Serena Williams last year in Wimbledon. She played very well, and she's a great runner.
