The big cat (Siberian Tigress) Maria Sharapova :cat: is back to her marauding and mauling ways against her opponents! :tennis: :bounce: smash:  :boxing: And that's great to see. :D It appears Masha has put her terrible love and love loss to Lindsay Davenport behind her and moved on just like I hoped she would.

Maria wasn't playing her best tennis... But then again, she didn't have to, because Shinobu doesn't have the weapons to defeat a player like Maria. You could really see the difference in this match.

nice...but i'm still mad at Eurosport for showing (or starting to) this boring match when there's at least 4 top quality fourth round matches on today :(

well done Masha :yeah:

Good stuff Maria. I'm certainly impressed.

Maybe I was wrong in doubting her desicion to play this tournament?

My mistake. If Sharapova plays Molik then I hope she wins. If not I have to root for Henin-Hardenne.

A good professional win from Masha. She did what she had to do to win against an opponent with great movement who keeps putting the balls back in play.

Good win Maria. Keep on Rolling!

Tough luck Shinobu  Maria seems determined to put that infamous IW loss behind her.

Maria wasn't playing her best tennis... But then again, she didn't have to, because Shinobu doesn't have the weapons to defeat a player like Maria. You could really see the difference in this match.

Shinobu is a solid all-round player, and her backhand is a notable weapon of hers.

And yeah, Maria didn't have to play her best tennis simply because Shinobu wasn't playing hers today.
