Mirza over Kuznetsova barely edges out Linetskaya over Mauresmo. Only because Linetskaya is better than Mirza at this point in their careers.

linetskaya-mauresmo

but my fave is hantuchova-molik, not that it was an upset for me, because i believed in a good result, but after such a great months for Molik it was a little suprise for the most people.

I think Safina over Mauresmo only because it was in a final.

Not one of those surprised me completely. Momo and Natsya are streaky players. Sveta's had a sub par year. The other ones aren't even top players in my mind.

Castano d. Patty.

Patty was in good form, and Castano's results off clay are just horrid in general... plus she hadnt played since Acapulco. :retard:

a top player doesn't have to be playing for an "upset". Zuluaga was a 4-time champ and 3-time defending champ at Bogota, and was completely lost against Lourdes in the final.

Mirza def Kuznetsova... but then again I'm biased because it was the happiest upset for me.

Mirza is good, but Kuznetsova i think is better, and to lose 4 and 2...seemed pretty surprising, oh yea...Dinara, it seems, has always played 3 sets against top players but loses... so bound to win one of them

Mirza over Kuznetsova barely edges out Linetskaya over Mauresmo. Only because Linetskaya is better than Mirza at this point in their careers.
Mirza reached third round at AO losing to Serena Williams 60 64 and she winning first title in her next tournament at Hyderabad and made quarterfinals at Dubai.

Mirza is clearly better than Linetskaya ;)

How about Wrold #133 Kim Clijsters Defeats World #1 Davenport in a final?

That's just based on ranking though :retard:

Kim had won their last few meetings anyway

It's definitely Safina over Mauresmo. It was probably the biggest win of Safina's career, over a #2, AND in a final to win Paris Indoors title, which I think is a Tier II (?).

Havok

Yep it is a Tier II.

Definetely Linetskaya defeating Momo :)

But Mirza realized a big surprise while edging out Kuznetsova after a 0:4 in first set which she won with 6:4. :)

while one was ranked 600+and the other had won 2 titles in a row

Rankings aren't really a factor, Kutuzova has had wins over Irvin, Stevenson & Krasnoroutskaya before - obviously an up and comer whilst Pennetta isn't exactly a top player on hard.

The number 1 seed beating the No 3 seed isn't an upset, troll! learn something about tennis before you post.

The biggest upset has to be Safina-Momo in the Paris final.
