Myskina in 3. I think Myskina is really determined to do well in this tournament. If she attacks Clijsters serve and uses her brilliant backhand down the line to put Kim off balance she can totally win this match. It won't be easy though.

Myskina's game may not suit kim the way lindsay's does. Myskina can move as well as kim and she seems to be playing much better. I will go with myskina on this one.

...so yeah, I trust my heart and say Nastya in three and it will be a good match I think. First of all, Nastya hardly ever gets rolled over by a top player in two (I think the last time that happened was Lindsay in San Diego final). Second of all: I think she´s really desperate to have a good show out there before the clay season starts and she had a long break.

I say Kim in 3 (first and 3rd sets to her).

Why the hell is this match not in the main stadium? I realize Sharapova is a big star and I dig her and all, but Asagoe doesn't make this a star vs star matchup like Clijsters-Myskina does.

Kim's gotten something like three bagels in three matches. Kim's playing better. Myskina makes too many errors, and does not move as well as Kim. How many times do people have to be told? Kim loses to three people: Venus Williams, Serena Williams and Justine Henin-Hardenne. Everyone else she walks over.

1. Myskina's backhand isn't consistent. That is a big myth. It is more consistent than her forehand, but it only appeared consistent last season.

2. What on earth does a stroke's being flat or not have to do with quality? Kim can hit her backhand harder than Myskina, while adding topspin to make it safer.

You can't get rolled over by top players if you're being rolled over by journey-women, now can you?:tape:

I think Clijsters over Myskina in 2 easy sets. The thing is, Anastasia Myskina is really inconsistent. I'd love for her to win because I think she's a great fighter on the courts, but she hits way too many unforced errors. Add her impatience to that..and it's a chemical equation for self-destruction =(

Don't get me wrong, I really like Anastasia Myskina. I just think Kim will be too good for her after her showing in Indian Wells.

You also forget myskina is not the same player kim played the last time she did. So what if she has had lapses this year, who says those are permanent. Lindsay was a much easier opponent than myskina, it doesn't mean myskina is better than lindsay, only a different kind of challenge. Kim frustrated lindsay to death, lindsay had to hit like a bazilion 'winners' before one could get past Kim. Whatever kim can do, myskina can also do. It will all be mental.

I think Clijsters in two sets. But hopefully Myskina can prove me wrong.

Ive been at nasdaq this whole week and ive seen both players matches... Kim is going to win b/c she is playing better tennis. Myskina has had easy matches b/c she has been playing relativly easy oppentents. Im hoping for a good match but the fact is Kim is playing some of the best tennis of the tournment and unless she goes into her match flat tomorrow shes going to beat Myskina.

hopefully myskina will let it rrrip! Kim has been playing well.. but i think its time she cooled off for a bit. IMO, Myskina definitely NEEDS this match more than kim does..

I feel that Kim is going to win this decisively. Maybe I'm too confident in Kim's abilities. But I think it's going to be one of those routine 6-2, 6-3 wins for Kim. The way she came back to the game and the way she cleaned Dechy's clock, she's on a mission and I don't think Myskina is going to stop her.

C'mon Kim. I didn't predict IW and she won so I'm sitting out predictions here.

Kim in 2 fairly routine sets--- 6-3, 6-2. Everything Nastya can do, Kim does better--- plus Kim's serve is a weapon, while Nastya's is not. Just looking at this week, Kim is playing better tennis, esp. in her destruction of Dechy-- a quality opponent. Meanwhile, Nastya has had some comfortable wins over players who are super easy to beat. Kim's going to the finals in this tourney!!!

...this thread looks familier...

Anyways, it seems that alot of people tend to forget just how good a healthy Kim is. Since 02 Kim has OWNED a heck of alot of "good players". There's only 3 that I can think of who Kim hasn't consistantly beaten since then. Heck, last year prior to the wrist injury Kim was 15-1 winning Open Gaz De France & Proximus Diamond Games, and only losing in the AO finals. Kim looks like she's healthy again. And if she is, she is definately a top 5 player [FACT]. Probably top 3 [my oppinion].

Also Kim has OWNED Myskina in like 4 straight (except when she retired in the Sparkassen Cup SF while a set ahead in 2003). ;)

I see Kim (likely) winning in straight sets. :bounce:

I would have to agree that Kim will win in 2 easy sets. It's not that I don't like Kim - but I am a great fan of Nastya. Hopefully Nastya will make her work!
