View Full Version : What's up with Castano?

Last year she almost got double-bagelled by Navratilova, and barely won any matches on hardcourt. Now she's won four matches in a row defeating Suarez, and isn't laying off vs. Schnyder. :scared: Could it be that's she learned not to hit moonball after moonball? :scared:

Now she's up on Schnyder *3-1 :scared: WTF?

Suarez is out of form and not a very good hardcourt player in the first place. I think the style that Castano plays doesn't present too many problems for Patty's game, especially on a hardcourt, but Patty hasn't faced her before so it might take a little time to get things sorted out.

I was just going to post the same thing. After losing to Navratilova 1 and 0 at Wimbledon I was like how can she win matches. Now she has made two QF back to bcak, and now Qualified into a huge tournament where she is on the verge of reaching the Fourth Round. I'm really happy for her. I think she is cool. She will now get straight into Wimbledon again.

Up a set. I hope she wins. Anything for an easier draw for the queen so there can be an all Williams quarterfinal ;).

 at you all. Catalina Castano can play tennis. You can't base someone's ability based on how they play on a particular surface. Would you judge Tamarine Tanasugarn's ability based on her clay court results?

She's not a grass court player. How many grass courts do you see floating around in Colombia? How many clay courts do you see? Therefore, all of her good results have come on clay in her career and she's finally starting to adapt to the hard court game. As far as the grass goes...she gets paid $10,000 to lose one match as long as she's in the top 104 in the world, so I'm sure she doesn't give a flying fuck.:p

Yo Bradshaw, I wasn't knocking her. I really like her. Chill out! Regardless of the surface it's strange to see someone lose 1 and 0 to Navratilova and then go out and beat Suarez and now Schnyder(knock on wood).

I hope so too, but lets not get too excited, Venus still has to beat Zuluaga.
I think she will but I won't be relieved until I hear/read game set match Williams :yeah:.

there is huge Colombian crowd support in Miami - that might have something to do with it.

Yes, because Conchita wasnt even bitching in that match in Charleston ;)

She's a very faithful Christan person. Maybe on this Easter Sunday, her faith got her through it. You can do all things through God. Don't mean to offend anyone.

I prayed for her to win. :)

Oh and Patty didn't say "bitch" and refused to shake hands and also didn't offend her afterwards? :o And also Patty does never behave like shit on the court, no, she really never does.

I put money on Patty and since I seem to lose a lot with virtualBetting it's not that big of a suprise. I put money on Suarez too. ;)

But it is a suprise, Patty is having a good year and now she lost against someone who's not in the top 100.

Wow...this is so weird. Castano has struggled to get out of the qualies on hardcourts for most of her career. Now she beats 2 top 30 players. WOW.

Conchi didn't bitch during that match. She took a long time between points and she did a lot of stuff tennis-wise that frustrated Patty's game. But she didn't bitch. ;)
