Venus stopped Kim in Diamond Game!
Remember?

Serena can stop anyone whenever Serena wills it. Maria can stop anyone when she tastes desire for real. Venus' serve comes at Kim funny or something like that (according to her and her coach.) Kim claims that Justine's spins give her trouble. Matthew claims that Justine's fighting instincts and gimongous heart give Kim trouble (see her record against Mauresmo, with just as many funky spins, as my evidence.)

I think if you cloned Kim and put her on the other side of the court, she probably couldn't even stop herself.

It's funny that people think Kim is unstoppable because she beat Lindsay. But she OWNZ Lindsay. On the other hand...Kim is OWNED by Venus, Serena, and Justine.

Have Clijsters and Sharahova played each other yet? Now that's one I'd LOVE to see, but not in Miami. ::lol:: I'll have to wait until they're on the same side of the draw and opposite of Miss Serena.

In their first 9 meetings, Kim leads 7:2
In thier last 7 meetings, Justine leads 5:2, with one of those losses coming from a retirement, where she was up a set.

Well, here's hoping for Kimmie to change the tide! She's far more preferable to Justin! She is sweet and has total class. She's a player I truly admire and respect!

Rock on Kimmie! :worship:

I don't see why this thread was started... Kim came back only a month and a half ago. Sure she won IW but there are still plenty of tourneys to be played!
Now to answer the question, Serena and Venus when at 100% are undoubtably the best players around and I think these can stop her. Now others such as Amélie, Sharapova can also be a challenge. But that's my opnion ;)

Have Clijsters and Sharahova played each other yet?

Kim leads their H2H 2-0. Both matches were before Kim's injury, the first one was in LA and was 3 sets, the 2nd was in Luxembourg in 2 sets including a bagel, both were in 2003.

Kim herself can. I can see her running out of steam somewhere along the way

Serena can and Venus on a great day. I'm afraid Masha is a bit burned out and Justine looks awfully insecure still. I would not be surprised if they don't make it to the final rounds.

a Maria vs Kim clash would be interesting.......one of the most agressive, inpatient players vs the player who's the most defensive top player out there.....is Maria ready for so many balls coming back?

So much has changed for Kim and Justin in the last year, I think its relatively pointless to depend on the head to head, as much as I see you like to massage the figures!

I'd rather wait and see what actually happens rather than talk any of them up.......

Indeed, but I was afraid the casual tennis fan might see Kim's 9:7 lead as a sign of her sustained superiority over Ju, which clearly has not been the case in their past few meetings. ;)

I agree that they'll both be starting on a clean slate though.

Kim is playing well, no doubt. But, it isn't like she played incredibly at Indian Wells.

If Kim plays someone who can match her power and move just aswell, she'll have trouble. Serena, Venus...Maria, maybe Svetlana and Amelie.

I was truly impressed with the way Kim was playing against Amy Frasier the other night... both ladies were hitting the ball really hard, but Kim holds an obvious advantage on her superior speed and movement... I haven't seen Venus or Serena playing yet to access their games in this tournament... I would be really surprised if Justine could be a factor here, she was really struggling with her shots during the first round and seemed not to have adjusted them for the windy conditions of Key Biscayne... her forehand was often sailing long and the slice backhand was the shot that held her in that match... Dementieva's serve is still a liability (it was against Linestkaya), but only when she tights up as if when she has to serve a tough match out...

I think Kim could beat Maria now until Maria gets used to her game. Kim is sort of a unique player who has just as much power as the big babes, but also plays a very defensive game. Whereas Maria might get an error from say Serena on the run trying to hit an offensive shot, Kim is going to make her hit another shot which will be one of those slap shots with a funky spin on it and if Maria doesn't get into net and take it out of the air she'll be in trouble. I don't think Maria is comfortable enough at net to do that yet. Also I don't think she has played Kim enough.

Don't foget Monica. Mon took her out everytime they have played.
I miss you Monica, Please come back soon.

But realisticly, Serena, Maria, Venus, and Justine will kick her ass. that is the reason why they are all on the other side of the draw from her.

Kim will beat Maria now I think. Maria's game is to go for the winners. If she cannot her FH breaks down. The way Kim can get to a lot of ball will trouble Maria. That and the fact that Kim's game is cleaner than either Williams so there is not as many free points.
