It shouldn't be. The NASDAQ-100 site says the coverage for tomorrow will be live. And the schedule of play says the match isn't going to start no earlier than 4:30pm, so it should be live.

my hopes for the match are that shahar takes at least one game in every set (avoiding the bagel) and breaks at least once.
other than that - i hope she takes this is a chance to understand the games power and speed these days so that she can evaluate how much time she's gunna spend in the gym this year :lol:
no really, she's gunna be smashed unless serena has another nasty injury - which i really really don't want happening - it's uncompetitive and it really makes me upset to see "ret." beside any players name in any stage of the match and any tourny.

Is it? I don't know Espn, but I do know that Eurosport doesn't show enough tennis. A lot of times when there are exciting quarterfinal matches between good players they show something boring like curling :rolleyes:. Most of the time they show the semifinals and finals taped.

Now that Safin is out of the tournament, does that mean ESPN will show more coverage of womens tennis? :bounce:

Wow. Sharar Peer reminds me so much of Sandrine Testud.

The scoreline is VERY deceiving. I'm liking Shahar a LOT. She's a very old-school retrieving type of player. Those types don't do well anymore, but I could definitely see her in the top 30, and higher if she could improve her serve.

I can see why Serena thrives at this tournament. The surface really emphasizes her style of play and her groundstrokes.

Serena had chances for a bagel, but Peer stepped it up. Serena really looks tired....thought she was just pacing herself.

Definitely more winners at backhand. Her forehand doesn't seem like a weakness -- she's not making a lot of mistakes. She hit one or two great backhand down the lines, but by and large Serena is controlling the points and Shahar is playing defense. She hasn't had that many opportunities to step in and hit winners, but she's done it a few times.

She is really pissing Serena off. It's funny.

P.S just so you know she usually have better serve. 2-3 aces. sth like that. Just not her day...

Let me clarify. She's not being unduly defensive. In fact, I sense she's taking the ball early. She's also mixing up the pace deliberately. But many many points she has no choice but to defend. Her serve is too weak to put her in a controlling position. So on both serve and return Serena has the advantage.
