View Full Version : When does the schedule 'jump' one week back ?

The question sounds a bit strange, so I will explain:

The year usually has 365 days, that's 52 weeks and 1 day. So, if you have a 52-weeks-schedule, the tournaments will begin one day earlier every year. For example, Gold Coast started on January 1st last eason, this time it's December 31st.
To equate that, you have to transfer the whole schedule one week back every 5 or 6 years.

So my question: is there any official rule when that is to happen ?

the Australian Open always finishes the last SUNDAY in January.

Wimbledon final is 1st Sunday in JULY
US OPEN always starts last MONDAY in August.
It just pans out this way ...

Eggy, the Wimbledon final has been on the 9th of July before, but I think that's the latest date.
Thanks anyway.
