Hi I'm a Maria fan but I thought I should just come in here + congratulate Lindsay on great win. Naturally I'm very dissapointed

I'm sorry, but I'm actually supporting Kim for the final, cos she needs a boost after her injury lay - off.

But credit (and loads of it) to Lindsay for a great win; I'd be overjoyed if positions were reversed, so I kindov guess I should not be a bad loser; and that's my reason for posting this message.

I'm very greatful to all tose people who do not support Maria who have said such nice things about how she's probably gonna come straight back after such a bad loss. I hope I'd do the same if positions were reversed and Maria inflicted a real humiliating loss on another great player.

Guess all I can do now is be humble, offer my congratulations to the deserving winner, and hope Maria moves on as fast as possible.

:wavey: :wavey: :wavey:

oh, thanks for that - I greatly appreciate that.....especially as a Lindsay fan. I know it could have been tough to brave a forum like this thinking that we could have all been bashing Maria. Quite frankly, Maria has what it takes and she has made many steps forward and that match was just a few steps back.....but surely not for long!

I know people will remember this for a long time to come and will always be a talking point, but what a show it will be if Maria can come back from that in emphatic style!

Maria was "humbled" but I think it will be a great learning curve if she can channel her thoughts towards that idea.

I admire you for your kind words and I would like to appologise on behalf of Lindsay fans if any Lindsay fan has been harsh towards you and/or other fans after the match. As you have kindly pointed out, we're not all like that ;)

Bye for now,
-Rache :wavey:

It's not fun being humiliated 6-0 6-0.
 at Lindsay lol ;)

Very few top players I think have lost 6-0 6-0 esp after a load of such good wins eg. over pierce. But, I think there must be other records which are equally bad that other top players must hold.

I agree about Kim, She's a nice gal, and good to see her back to winning ways after such a huge injury time off. I actually said before the tournie it would be better for tennis in general if Kim won rather than my fave, Maria; tho of course I was hoping for Maria to win.

But it will probably be better for Maria and for womens tennis in general that she's had this loss, it will wake everyone up to the fact that the players are overworked with their schedule, and need to take tournies off sometimes. Hopefully this is what Maria will do at Miami.

I'm actually not too surprised Lindsay lost; coming off the back of the most one sided win of your career must be hard. I almost feel sorry for her, lol, because I think if she'd won 6-3 6-4 or something, she's have stood a better chance having been tested, and having match practice.

But I do like Lindsay, and wish her well for the rest of the year;).
