....I think it might be way too big! I bought a 4 men dome tent and it's like 6.5ft x 6.5ft. I was about to put it up when I realised how big it was.

I rolled it up and put it away thinking I might get the smaller one as I am worried it might not fit on the pavement outside wimby. Anyone here camped at wimby before and know roughly how wide the pavement is? lol, doft question I guess, but I just though it would be nice to have a big tent.....just in case!

When I rolled it out in the conservatory at home my dad was laughing his head off, "what!? Are you going to be renting it out or something!"

Any help you can give me would be great.....if no one can then I will open it up to GM's and see if anyone could be bothered to help me - even if it is really early!

you can still use it if you join the queue in the park...thats where it starts on grass and there were some big tents last year!

Which park is this? I persumed that the queue started at the gate.....so this is not true?

The people in the park are "first in line" so to speak?

Wow thanks....I might still be able to live in 'luxury'.

my tent is a 2 man dome tent and that looked huge when i put it up in the living room lol.

ive been told to get 1 man extra...ie if ur on ur own get a 2man...if there are 2 or u get a 3 man etc.

i have never queued b4 either and it sounds stupid but i crapping it lol....hell ive never even camped b4 so it should be an experiance. the que starts at gate 3 but can go on for miles so who knows where ill end up.

Hey Rache, The queue for the wimby tickets start at teh gates on the gates, by turnstyle 56 to be precise. Here there are loads of tents and its these people who get the luck 500 centre cout and 500 court 1 tickets that are up for grabs each day of teh tournament for the 14 day period.

The queue then works its way back....down teh road....over teh bridge....and way down the road back to Southfields tube station (neares tube for wimby). The most tents are at the front of teh queue by the gates ar they are the first there as they queue outside for days! (keano's! ;) ) However there are tents further back in the queue too!

Its a really great experience and you have loads of fun woith your mates....BBQ's....beers and summer nights!

This year im working in the players restaurant for a couple of days for a week, so get tickets...for 2nd week but lots of free ground pass tickets, so all the clan are welocme to a few of those if you cant get court 1 tickets and CC tickets!

My uncle is Ted Phillips (hence my job in players restaurant), so ill be posting later if you guys need ground passes!

Watch this space.......

ooo, a ground pass would be great! We could all be there cheering Lindsay. LOL. My mum's now worrying that I am camping....she thought I was bluffing until she saw the tent. So, you think a 4 man dome tent would fit on the pavement? Maybe I should just exchange it for a smaller one tomorrow.

I would be extremely greatful for Ground passes, but I do understand that you would have to be selective as to who you give them to.

Thanks for all your help,
-Rache :D

Ok lets just get one thing straight....Kelly... Andy is mine, hands off....
Great that linds could play wimby, bad that i now have to queue and buy another frickin umbrella.
Did someone mention free tickets, cos throwing sum of those babies myway would be awesome. I could support linds to my full capabilty, not like normal, as 6 hours or more in a queue just drains me, i swear a lot and the rain does nothing for me!
Gimme gimme gimme :bounce: :worship:
p.s my email is bbeckyb342057103@aol.com for the good news

Kelly, queueing at wimbledon causes me to get a quieter version of turrets syndrome, it really does, especially when it starts to rain, then you fffff finally get into the grounds, more rain delays, more turrets, masses of people getting in your way, you finally get sat down on the court where linds is reportedly playing, people pushing around you, cos there aint enough room, between those crappy courts (where you are forced to sit on wet benches), then play is about to begin, they change courts, this causes a few louder turrets outbursts, so now you have to pick up your drenched belongings and leg it, over to the actual court you now neeeeed to be on, pushing as many people out of your way as you can, to find...oh what a shock...no where to sit and frickin tons of sodding people. (Oopsie slight rant)
This is what i get like, and its worse when i stay at home to watch on tv, cos we cant get freeview, we have to rely on bbc 1 and bbc 2.
Half way thru a linds match, you get up to make a quick drink, kettle on..... next thing you know, you have fff^&%&^%^%%$^%£%$£&*^&*ing henman on, 'battling hard to fight some utter nobody' and then the commentator saying 'were going to stay with this match and hope that f*&&ing tim makes a match of it and gets thru into the next round,-----w(who gives a crap, get my match back) completely takin the piss as you were previously engrossed by the linds match you were watching.
And then swearing lots more and shouting at tim (on the screen) to hurry the hell up and lose, (which he can never manage, he has to battle for another 3 hrs) , only to find out that when tims match ends, you get some annoying interview with the arsehole (sorry i have a real passion to hate the guy) and then its worse cos then, 'oh gregs warming up for his match, lets go get some pointers' (now with lost voice, sticking various fingers up at tv, need pills to calm me down).
OMG @ that rant........I would love to have a banner saying 'sue you rock' on one side, when the camera focuses on me for bbc, i quickly switch it around, with one saying something along the lines of 'tim is crap'. HA HA HA it would amuse me!
I will stop jabbering now as am exhausted!

lol.....i understand what u mean about tim. i remember last year on the digital you had 5 screans....it had tim on 3 of them, and venus on 2...i was like "helloooooo.....could lindsay have one screan please". no matter where he is he always screws us lindsay fans over by insisting on playing on the same day as her.

I'm not entirely sure Paul as I too haven't been but as far as I'm aware I think you would still have to be in the queue for about 7am in order to get ground passes, but maybe someone knows better than i do ;)

Yep, paul, I would too suggest getting in the queue for 7am. This way you normally get in just after the gates open and you can watch players warm up on the outer courts b4 you get to see a match.
If you want to get in just say 10 mins b4 the play starts, i suggest 8am in that queue but thats the latest, otherwise you're stuffed!
